Rodgers givin’ the boot from the Jets
LABILLBACKER replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
This might be an opportunity to poach a Jets defensive player with all this drama and uncertainty? -
I'll always have more admiration for Tomlin than McDermott. He won 2 championships with a HOF qb nowhere near as good as Josh. Sean can't even get to a SB, let alone win one. I think it's safe to say Josh's frustration level with McB is at a warmer level than 2020.

I could care less about the buddy or comfort narrative. Just bring people in that can reduce our yearly injuries by 25%. Who knows what happens if either Kincaid, Rapp or Benford were 100% that last game?
-
Yeah we really shut down the Rams, Ravens & Lions. Sometimes you just can't cover up stupidity.

I agree, we're going to need alot more than Pegues in the 4th at DT.

Travis Kelce uncertain of future. Mulling retirement
LABILLBACKER replied to DJB's topic in The Stadium Wall
He's Mahomes best friend and security blanket. Yes I want him and his temporary girlfriend gone. Make Mahomes work harder. -
Kurt Warner's analysis of the Super Bowl
LABILLBACKER replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
Only once in 4 playoff games with KC have we ever led at halftime. We're always having to come from behind at some point in the 2nd half. -
Kurt Warner's analysis of the Super Bowl
LABILLBACKER replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
Our dbs rarely play press coverage. Von is washed and Greg did a terrible job of maintaining outside contain. Philly's front 4 is 10x more violent than our finesse version. We need defensive upgrades and a scheme change badly. -
This is now on Beane, no question he needs to step up.
LABILLBACKER replied to SoonerBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
We may never get to a SB but at least God will know we'll have the All-NFL Church team. -
Yeah, he kinda sucks at drafting top 3 round defensive players. He's great 4th round and on. Go figure????

Doesn't TayTay have 127M followers? Just sayin?

Deebo Samuel Granted Permission to Seek Trade
LABILLBACKER replied to PauleeeWalnuts's topic in The Stadium Wall
I know he's not available unless in a trade but DK is 2 years younger and substantially faster than Deebo. We need a fast field stretcher. I'm passing on Deebo. -
We're always a td away. Call me when we build a violent defense like Philly. Then.... maybe then I'll get excited. And for those fans who are satisfied and content with what this Allen era team has accomplished, I truly applaud you. I really do (no LABILLBACKER sarcasm)...it is miserable and frustrating not getting to the finish line. All I can control as a fan is to continue practicing hope & optimism. Continuing to support this team. At my age and after all I've seen and experienced as a Bills fanatic, it's just too unhealthy and exhausting to continue fighting, sparring and arguing about what is the "proper route" to the finish line.

Superbowl Game Thread - Chiefs vs Eagles
LABILLBACKER replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
The first 25 minutes of this show gave me pure unadulterated joy. Never seen Nick so mocked and eviscerated. -
I love the idea of going strong after Crosby. He's almost 2 years younger than Garrett and he'd be a little less expensive. Yes it's going to cost cap & picks. I don't see any under the radar JJ Watt's floating around the 30's? Obviously I'd love a speed wr, but my focus is on a plug n' play reliable DE and then draft these DT's. BB just saw what it takes to make frogman wet his pants.

We just need 1 HR defensive front 4 player. Think about this fact. Since Beane came on board May 9th, 2017, we've had just 1 player have a 10 sack season. Leonard Floyd a 1 yr FA rental. And ironically Floyd at 33 had 8.5 sacks this year w/ SF. That would've led the Bills this season. We missed on AJE. We swung and missed on Von. It's highly doubtful we keep Greg "Tremaine" Rousseau after this season. Who knows what we have in Carter/Solomon? We haven't had an elite pass rusher since Mario Williams. McBeane had the correct strategy since 2017. Unfortunately the guy buying the groceries purchased a bunch of rotting expired food. His offensive picks have been A-. His defensive picks have been C+ and probably kept us out of multiple SB's. He's gotta identify the failure (maybe poor scouts?) and fix it fast.

Sweat had 2.5 sacks, 2 TFL's and 3 qb hits. That's a pretty impressive box score. Like I said if we strike out on a Garrett/ Cosby trade, I'm going to work up a strong Sweat. Roseman and the Front 4 were your MVP's.

Bills scored more points than any other team this season..
LABILLBACKER replied to Steptide's topic in The Stadium Wall
Come on D....it's your time to step up and do your part...come on Brandon, nail these defensive picks...BPA -
If Samuel is even relatively healthy this season, it's a wash and I'm sticking with Curtis one last year. I think we will resign Hollins to a 2/ 8M kinda contract. And I think we draft another wr somewhere in the first 3 picks. I'm giving Coleman & Kincaid one more year to prove themselves. No doubt we extend Shakir. I want no part of this Hollywood.
-
I'm on "Roseman Draft Bot Team BPA" from here on out...If we don't land either Garrett or Crosby, we sure as hell better get someone like Sweat or Koonce as a consolation prize. Beane must make sure his scouts are competent. And draft DL until you throw up.
-
Yes any successful organization has to have a balance between owner, HC, GM and players. And I'm the last one on this planet that wants to see Josh have to do most of it himself. Yes after drafting Josh (kudos to McB), we've landed some good supporting players. But not great or elite defensive players. Like the thread title says from @Logic (and I agree 100%), Josh's amazing abilities have been wasted because of lost opportunities on the DL. Wasted picks on guys like Elam, Basham, Epenesa and more. We swung and missed tragically on Von. Let's be honest with each other, Beanes track record on early picks has set us back in building a dominant playoff caliber defense around Josh. And I'm convinced until we build that dominant D, we will settle for regular season accomplishments.
