  1. Anyone who mentions anyone other than Mario is just being silly. We've had exactly 2 elite pass rushers since 1990.
  2. They all bite us in the ass. They assess talent better than us so therefore they know they can fleece us everytime. Just stop helping the one team we can't beat.
  3. First the OT rule and now this. Adorable how the league realizes they screwed us, so they make a change that would've been helpful up front. I can't remember the last time I saw a chain gang come on the field for a measurement? Baseball will have a long overdue digital strike zone. Just embrace tech and get these spots right. Humans are too flawed.
  4. I completely agree....we don't need to overhaul the scheme, but McD must be willing to tweak it some. Replace someone like AJE with Garrett, Cosby, hell even Sweat or Landry would be a huge upgrade. Then use that extra 2nd round pick on DT (assuming bpa). Once the front 4 can generate more consistent pressure, Sean will have the luxury of calling man coverage more often.
  5. Agree....We have to attack both strategies. Go after the big splash pass rushing DE we've needed since 17 was drafted. And as much as I've lost some faith in Beane's ability to draft D, he must target a 2nd round DT. This ridiculous rotational "revolving door" of DT's isn't working. Rebuild the D starting with the DL. Not the other way around.
  6. Exactly...start at the DL and work your way back. I'm paying the DL the lion's share. My order of preference would be Garrett, Crosby, Hendrickson, Sweat, Landry. Mack is too old.
  7. Until it wasn't in the Chiefs game. We executed terribly in that game. I'm not losing sleep if they ban it.
  8. I'm not as caught up with scheme anymore. Sean will always emphasize his version of the zone and that will never change. Our current problem is not x's or o's, it's Jimmy's & Joe's. Our defensive personnel are to small and injury prone. They just are. They can't survive a regular season. By the time playoffs start, they start falling like dominoes. We relied 80% on generating takeaways in order to mask our defensive deficiencies. Get bigger, stronger and hopefully this new conditioning head will turn things around?
  9. ....it better be a big one...at his age, snap count and production, we're just not getting the value anymore. We took a swing, we struck out.....It happens.....You move on and get younger. I'm not paying a 36 year old "3rd down only" pass rusher 12-16M. Draft DL and hope you hit on someone. You know what you have with post ACL Von. And it's not exciting.
  10. Completely agree...love the advancements Cook made this year but I'm not paying him over 10M tops. Same goes for Groot. Maybe 13-14M but that's all his production is worth. Oliver desperately needs help. If we don't use #30 to trade for Garrett / Crosby, we better try to trade up a little for DT Grant.
  11. You're right, it's more expensive than when DTV offered discounts. All you can do now is sign up for YTTV in September and drop it Jan 1st. Pay monthly around $83/ month which comes out to $332. The playoff games in January are all on national networks. Don't pay for the whole year.
  12. The 2nd strategy should be the only one considered. Yes, I'd love to have a speed boundary wr....but we've proven with a bunch of lower tier wrs we can still score 30 pts in a playoff game.
  13. Higher doesn't help because the receiving team can't move till the ball is touched. So just kick it to the 5 and tackle the dude before the 35. Save yourself a few yards. And yes the shield is trying to encourage more returns and excitement with an occasional td.
  14. McDermott has already tried that.
  15. Then they gotta find a way to eliminate these yearly defensive injuries. I don't see KC banged up defensively every January? Maybe a new conditioning staff will help? Maybe don't draft such small players? Figure it out....
  16. Excellent post and 💯. Higgins is better than Gabe but he'd be way to expensive. I wouldn't be opposed to Cooper staying but only under 20M. The player I'd love would be trying to coax Seattle to trade DK to us. His age, size and speed would fit perfectly. But you're right, Beane doesn't value speed as much as some teams. He's content with slower wrs who can make contested plays. Josh is not as accurate on deep throws as we would like. A speed wr would be nice but maybe it's not mandatory? What is mandatory is landing Garrett or Crosby.
  17. At the league minimum, sure why not as depth. It's not like we're keeping Elam anyway. Draft 2 CB's in April. I'd still try to go after DJ Reed or Adebo?
  18. He definitely had a mechanical flaw and he fixed it. Now if we could just teach AJ to not rush 10 yards past the qb.
  19. That crows nest will grow back
  20. Yeah it kinda does....he's dead to me both figuratively and literally.
  21. I'm cutting all 4. Edwards did not play well against the Chiefs. The AJE extension was stupid. And yes Von and DQ are done. We can bring up the young OL depth at guard.
  22. That's not a terrible idea either but I doubt the Jets work with us. I'm just not on board signing or trading for ANY WR over 30. Higgins is getting franchised. Kupp, Diggs, Cooper, Adams, K. Allen, DHop....hard pass. Now maybe Dyami or Slayton on a cheaper deal I'd be down for? But Metcalf would be my top target. He could be Josh's true #1 for the next 4 years.
  23. I think dollar wise there's a path to pay both Garrett & Metcalf. Crosby would be slightly less costly. It would require us to say goodbye to contracts of Von, Oliver, AJE, Milano, Knox & Jones. These guys can be replaced thru the draft/ ufa.
  24. Personally my #1 trade target would be DK. His age, speed & size is exactly what Josh & Joe need. Cooper and Adams are on the wrong side of 30. Higgins will be way to expensive.
