Roster Support over the past three years (Beane)
LABILLBACKER replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yup out of 16 players drafted these last 2 seasons, only 1 ( Walker) has had a good impact. That’s not only staggering but malfeasance. Unfortunately in hindsight the player I wish Josh had wanted was Justin Jefferson. -
LB Shaq Thompson..........what could have been......
LABILLBACKER replied to Special K's topic in The Stadium Wall
I absolutely love the way Shaq is flying around. He's easily our best LB. Honestly I don't even know if I'd play Milano the rest of the regular season. Stick him in bubble wrap and let Thompson run the middle. -
I'd look bad too if my organization gave me zero quality wrs or my most elite teammate gets sent to the bench every 3rd down.
-
This team has 2.....I'll repeat 2 elite players. 17 & 4....stop pulling Cook out on 3rd down when you're just going to botch the call anyway with a butchered jet run.
-
I've been screaming this for years. They are literally the same person. They've making decisions unilaterally. It’s always been this way. And yes because Josh is Superman, he gets absolutely screwed on wr weapons. "Go out there Josh and do it all yourself". Everyone eats even though no-one seperates. What could possibly go wrong?

At this point he looks like our only pick in this draft. Everyone else is either little or no production. Hairston, Sanders and Jackson have been useless.

10/13/2025 Bills at Falcons - Post game thread
LABILLBACKER replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
The Bills have made no effort whatsoever to draft a young promising wr since 2018. That failure to pair Josh with a bonified WR1 will always be McB's 2nd worst failure. The 1st being the defense. -
299 yards to Robinson / London in 1 half. Hilarious 🤣
-
Everyone on this defense is always hurt.
-
Both our safeties are terrible. How does Bishop miss that tackle on the 50?
-
I agree...I'd do everything in my power to stop this ridiculous tradition of giving Josh garbage wrs and actually find him people who can separate. Brady must pull his head out of his arse. His removing Cook on every 3rd down is getting embarrassing. Babich is not a great DC but lets not kid ourselves. This defense (or whoever the hell is left uninjured) is devoid of any playmakers. It's litered with old reliable yet "washed" retreads like Tre, Poy, Phillips and Milano.

Their policy is to give Josh garbage wrs throughout his entire career. -

For the love of God, STOP taking Cook out on 3rd down. -

Put the ball in his waist 17....not his chest. What are you doing? -

Well coached teams don't get penalized this often. -

Some of our wrs don't even require a single db on them. -

You've got a blitz coming on 4th and 2 and everyone is running deep fly routes....🤮 -

Nice guy and excellent culture builder. We already knew that. I just don't see how his ability to adapt and loosen up has translated to his defenses being strong, healthy and prepared come playoff time? His legacy will always center around bringing Josh to this team and ending the drought. Having a culture & process is important. And this team reflects that. But there's still something missing. The player personnel decisions by McB have been inconsistent. And there just seems to be a gear that Sean is incapable of shifting to. So many arguments seem to center around "look how long it took Andy to finally break through". Now we have a once in a generation qb. There should be no excuses. Sean McDermott is a beloved HC and has earned that support. So I guess we continue to wait and be optimistic. Maybe he continues to adapt and is willing to hand "his" defense over to a world class DC? I just don't know if Babich is that guy. I do know that Brady and Andy don't win some of those SB's without Belichick and Spagnola. So in Sean's case you're only as good as the people you surround yourself with.

How the Bills coaching staff is prone to fail sometimes
LABILLBACKER replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
That's what made Belichick such a brilliant coach earlier in his career. He would change his scheme (strategy) weekly or even every half to adjust to that particular opponent's flaws. Sean just closes his eyes and runs the same tired and predictable system out there every game. It's stupid...idiotic and puts too much pressure on Josh and his teammates. How the McDermott supporters can't see this is beyond human comprehension? That's why the expression "we win inspite of our coaching" remains true today. Josh wills us to probably 90% of our wins. The rest of the credit goes to our "blind squirrel" coaching staff finding that acorn. -
Some changes you would like to see this week
LABILLBACKER replied to zow2's topic in The Stadium Wall
Not even Jesus can resurrect this defense. -
Clearly our defensive scouts are not very good. These players are soft, injury prone and take forever to heal. As the Mandalorian would say..." this is the way"....

Ridiculous stat that sums up the secondary play
LABILLBACKER replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yes this is easily the worst db group of the Allen era. Tre is a pathetic 55 pff and Benford is just as bad. Maybe Hairston comes in and saves the day? But right now we are bottom 5 in the NFL. And if our front 4 can't drag down qbs, we're screwed.
