Amazing numbers. Can he throw accurately & read defenses?
-
Yeah there is no Tyreek this April but there are some very interesting prospects. Addison looked a little slow. Flowers & Douglas really popped. I didn't see either of these 2 drop or even bobble a throw.
-
Give me Zay Flowers @ 27 and Demario Douglas in the 5th. Douglas caught every ball (including bad throws) effortlessly. Amazing hands and exact measurable as McKenzie. Hyatt dropped alot of balls today.
-
I agree we must target wr @ 27 and prepare for saying goodbye to Gabe. I also like your OL structure. Not a fan of Spencer starting.

I like Al-Shaair or Vander Esch to replace Edmunds. And would prefer Perine as a power back to compliment Cook.

McDermott wants a ‘nastier edge’ to his Defense post Frazier
LABILLBACKER replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
I agree....we desperately need OL then WR in that order. But knowing Seanie he'll pick Nolan (4.39) Smith and ask him to put on 40 lbs to turn him into Bruce. -
I voted short. Sure you can take the glass half full approach and celebrate great regular seasons. But call me fickle, I'm kinda holding out for a bigger accomplishment. Our first Josh Allen window (20, 21, 22) may be ending. Just waiting for our second window to begin with new, exciting players on rookie deals. Whether Sean's coaching evolves remains to be seen.

In no world do we get a 1st or 2nd round pick for Gabe. I think the organization will simply let him play out his final year and hope for a contract year uptick in performance. I personally don't see him being more than a WR3 regardless of where he goes. Take away that 1 KC game and Gabe's journey with the Bills has been very inconsistent. We can do better and it starts with this draft.

Let's not kid ourselves. Andy calls all the plays on offense. McDermott needs to do the same on defense. Go back to your more aggressive style in Carolina. You gotta be willing to play man press more often to succeed. -
The only thing I pray for is our scouts aren't drunk.
-
Give me any of those 5. Doubtful Addison or Robinson fall to us. Mauch is an early 2nd round guy. Sorry, I'm not picking Defense in the first 3 rounds.

We absolutely can't short arm offensive additions this offseason. McD will just have to be frugal and creative in finding defensive guys. 75% of this draft/ FA MUST be offense with emphasis on OL/ WR. -

See it to believe it. We've always played the soft bend defense. Then we watch it break in the playoffs. Without a better pass rush it won't matter what style we transition into. Hope he's sincere in this proclamation. -
Leslie Frazier "taking a year off from coaching" per Bills PR
LABILLBACKER replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall
I agree that the key to the future success of the Bills is to build a monster offense around Josh. To literally outscore teams regardless of how our defense plays. Now the only problem to hurdle is how to keep McD from his incessant defensive picks? -
Leslie Frazier "taking a year off from coaching" per Bills PR
LABILLBACKER replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yes this is the risk. You have the "Keep McD" camp that fears someone else might be worse and that very well could be true. Why screw up a good thing, we're winning 10-13 games each season. And you have the "we can do better" camp like myself that fears Sean can only climb 3/4 up the mountain. I would've loved a HC like Dabs, Frank or Payton to surround Josh with tons of protection and weapons. Obviously those ships have sailed. Sean's tendencies scare me. Player development delays, odd personnel decisions and in game mistakes. Sean should be applauded for all the good he's done but that final goal just seems so far away. -
Strong vs. Weak Positional Groups - Draft
LABILLBACKER replied to Yantha's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yeah I absolutely despise McD's philosophy of sitting on rookies and letting them marinate. Andy simply let's them jump right in to see what he's got while developing. The days of holding a clipboard are long over. Even Mel Kiper said yesterday that this year's draft overall is weak. -

And unfortunately once we enter the playoffs we don't have the proper coaching philosophy. We don't have the coaching firepower to outscheme elite qb/ HC combos. McD will get taken to the woodshed every time. -

So we better score 2 olineman in the first 3 picks. This organization does not have the luxury to keep ignoring Josh. -
He'll always be part of the best safety duo in Bills history. Wish him nothing but the best. He was a dawg.

And some of us are perfectly content with regular season accomplishments.

Hire TB12 as your nutritionist. -
TE @ 27, absolutely NO. Bijan @ 27 maybe? if the top wrs are gone. We need WR/OL in the first 4 picks.

Isaiah Hodgins Bills made big mistake
LABILLBACKER replied to Chicagobills's topic in The Stadium Wall
Let's just wait & see Isaiah play in year 2 getting throws from the Dabol yr2 version of D. Jones. If he does well then yes it will be another Wyatt Teller blunder. Wasn't Crowder hurt before Hodgins was poached? We've seen many a coach left on the tarmac. And honestly 13 seconds will go down in coaching blunder lore. -
The key words are "as yet". Of course we celebrate the job Sean did to dig us out of 17 yrs of pain. And Brandon was amazing finding Josh & Diggs. But after that there's this huge drop off. Beane's picks have been mostly disappointing. Sean's in- game strategy is terrible. Most of our wins are because JA has to do something heroic. How do you not identify Josh as your best generational player and not build a dominant offense around him? With each passing year and early playoff exit, the "good will" these 2 men have built up will disappear. Enjoy your adorable Marty Schottenheimer seasons. That should be fun.
