I know someone already said it in this thread, but... The fact that the Bills are the best they’ve been in decades and are FINALLY favored to win their division again, not to mention Brady finally leaving the East...and THIS happens to be the year the NFL may not have a season?! Oy. God must be a Pats fan ?

I believe the new CBA made it so that you can have extra players active on game day beyond what used to be allowed, SO LONG AS the extra players are o-linemen. As such, they may keep all of Nsekhe, Long, Bates, etc as depth. It IS, however, time for Ike Boettger to ***** or get off the pot. https://www.google.com/amp/s/profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2020/02/21/new-deal-would-allow-for-extra-offensive-lineman-on-game-day/amp/

I'll never understand why the Bills cut Jonathan Williams. He looked really good in the preseason for Buffalo. I know coach McDermott says it wasn't for any character reasons, but I can't help but think Williams was somehow not a culture/process fit.

Awesome signing! Beane has once again made it so that the Bills have no glaring needs and can truly draft BPA in each round. They are one HB away from a complete, ready-to-compete roster, even WITHOUT the draft. These cheap, no-risk, one-year deals of mid level contributors are awesome. I LOVE Beane’s approach to free agency. Love it.

Good move. They'll try to upgrade the "gadget guy" position in the draft, but it's always smart to bring back a guy that you already know can do it well, for competition's sake.

Can you provide a link for this information. I do not believe that it’s correct. -
Will COVID19 Impact the 2020 Season?
Logic replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nope. That’s not how vaccines work. MONTHS of testing must be done before a vaccine becomes “available” to anyone. At least 12-18 months away, period. -
I just wanted to say that I LOVE signing supremely athletic former 1st round picks whose rookie contracts have expired. Beane likes to take these swings, it seems. The Bills’ new D-line coach got the most out of Butler last season, as he broke out with 6.5 sacks. If he can continue to produce like that, this will prove to be a steal of a signing. If he can’t, he can be cut after this season with little penalty, and Quinton Jefferson and Horrible Harry can play more 3T. Love it.

Agreed. My contention is that they won’t be running the same offense they ran with Brady this year, regardless of who is under center. I believe McDaniels could craft an offense that would make Newton quite effective. Now...whether or not he’s a Belichick type of player/worker is a whole other question.

Fair enough. If if that is the case, though, why do you suppose we’re five days into the tampering period and he’s still unsigned? Shouldn’t teams be tripping over each other to try to land a young, elite pass rusher?

Clowney is overrated. If it wasn't for that ONE college highlight he had and his cool name -- like if his name was just Bill Smith -- nobody would give a damn about him. His market is bearing that out, I think. As for New England: The players that would scare me the most at QB for them are Andy Dalton and Cam Newton. I don't know why, buy I just think that if you combined Cam Newton with a creative play-caller and with that New England defense, you'd really have something. As for Dalton: He's actually quite good when given good protection and weapons. New England doesn't really have that right now. IF they got him some linemen and targets, he could do some damage.

Free Agency News and Updates - around the league

Wait... Are people still thinking the Bills will get Ngakoue? That dream flew out the window when they signed Addison and Jefferson, in my opinion. Any additions at edge will likely come in the draft at this point. -
Best WR Trio in the AFC, or in the League?
Logic replied to whatdrought's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Absolutely. If the question is "pass catching trios", it's a whole different ballgame. At that point, San Francisco (Kittle, Sanders, Samuel) and Cleveland (OBJ, Landry, Hooper) enter the discussion as well, I think. -
Best WR Trio in the AFC, or in the League?

Kelce is a tight end. The Tampa Bay receivers you mention form a DUO, not a TRIO. Reading comprehension is hard. -

I have to be honest -- I don't really want to see the Bills sign Gordon or Gurley. Once you get past the "big name" factor and the "he used to put up good fantasy numbers for me" factor, you can see the reality of each player clearly: In Gordon's case, he has averaged LESS than 4 yards per carry in four of his five professional seasons. In Gurley's case, his effectiveness has decreased in each of the past couple seasons, and there are rumors that his degenerative knee condition is quite bad indeed. Draft a running back between rounds 2-4, bring another in via UDFA. Roll into camp (if there IS a camp) with Singletary, rookie 1, rookie 2, TJ Yeldon, and Taiwan Jones. Just say no to spending $6million on over-hyped running backs. -
We are looking at Melvin Gordon according to this tweet
Logic replied to Buffalo03's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Until I see one single, credible source about this, I don't believe it. This Bills front office is as tight on leaks as any we've ever seen...and I'm supposed to believe that two no-name Twitter accounts above know what's happening behind the scenes? Pshaw! -
Bills need a CB, Trevon Diggs played at Alabama
Logic replied to Saxum's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I’d prefer he trade DOWN a time or two in the 2nd round. Net a couple extra 3rd round picks. -
Best WR Trio in the AFC, or in the League?
Logic replied to whatdrought's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My answer here is the same as what I commented on that Tweet: Duos and “whoever else” don’t count. The tweet said “TRIOS”. Two WRs and a tight end don’t count, the tweet said “WR trios”. In the AFC, the Chiefs can make a good case. In the NFC, the Bucs and MAYBE the Cards (Fitzgerald is well past his prime) can make a good case. At the very least, the Bills have a top 5 WR trio, and that’s something we couldn’t say last Sunday! -

LOVING it? Really? It's good that they're adding o-line pieces, but I'm not sure how GOOD the o-line pieces they're adding are. And don't they need some more offensive weaponry? If I was a Jets fan, I would be somewhere between mildly encouraged and downright annoyed. Look at what the Bills and Browns have put around Allen and Mayfield, respectively, and then look at what the Jets have put around Darnold. They need to get that boy some HELP! -
I gave it an A. - 26 years old - Four more years of team control - Contract is a really great value for a #1 receiver - Gives Bills top-5 receiving corps - Sure thing, as opposed to HOPING a rookie pans out - Is already very good, doesn't need to learn how to play in NFL for 2-3 seasons - Best route runner in the NFL - Top five contested catch receiver - Legitimate deep threat - Fits PERFECTLY with Allen's strengths and weaknesses - Won't preclude the Bills from drafting another WR early this year I thought about giving it a B instead, because the Bills DID give up a lot of picks. But if you look at it as a 1st, 2021 4th, Wyatt Teller and Russ Bodine for Stefon Diggs and a 7th, it looks quite fair. Bills still get to pick in rounds 5 and 6, still have a slate of seven draft picks, and in my opinion, will still draft a young WR early.
