  1. You believe talent wise Zay Jones is comparable to Sammy Watkins ? Credibility lost. Foster was a 5 star recruit out of HS ( still not as talented as Watkins) but Zay Jones ? Talent and production are two different things, but Jones doesn’t reside in the same talent universe as Sammy Watkins. As for relative to the other Bills this season or last, yes I will comfortably agree with the poster referenced that Watkins is far more talented than any of them.
  2. So, yes younger players on first contracts are less expensive ( aka more bang for the buck) than players on a second, more lucrative deal. That’s dictated by the parameters of the NFL salary structure and system of drafting/ free agency. This has nothing to do with which player is more talented.
  3. All the way up to Buffalo lol.... you mean that grueling 3.5 hour trek up the interstate ? What a choad
  4. Yep, that kind of facility is a model to follow. A massive overhaul of NEF will be expensive and won’t give that kind of pricing power due to the limitations of the design. This is a difficult dilemma to navigate and will be watched with great interest.
  5. Attendance is down across the league, and the new normal would dictate less seats. The less affluent “ Joe Fan” types will probably go to the games in whatever seat they can afford into perpetuity. As you’ve stated, the team hasn’t won in many years, yet those fans go anyway. Winning however is never guaranteed. A new facility would be all about increasing revenue streams to be more in line with the rest of the league. That means providing a certain level of amenities and gameday experience as well as a comfortable climate controlled environment. The market for more expensive seats exists as revealed by the secondary seat websites. Current ticket holders and scalpers profit from this, not the Bills. The secondary market also shows more demand for warm weather games, certain opponents and of course if the team is winning. The current facility, short of a massive upgrade doesn’t give the Pegulas any more pricing power for the same seat in a spartan stadium. This will be an interesting decision for sure.
  6. The choice of liquid to imbibe is irrelevant . Rather it is more about the expected social behavior of said demographic that is consuming the libation of choice. Anyway, the Bills current stadium situation leaves them massively underpriced vs the rest of the NFL. The way to turn that around is to tap into a ( currently unserved ) market that stays away for 3/4ths of the season or just in general. This can only be achieved by offerening a climate controlled environment, imo. The market exists in the area, but these fans aren’t interested in freezing at most games while surrounded by drunken rowdies. The current situation has a flood of cheap tickets that some fans purchase then resell on the secondary market at higher prices to finance their original seat purchase. The Bills get none of those dollars. We’ll see what they do to change this untenable system around. I’d guess a new, covered facility with lower capacity say 60-65 k at much higher prices for the best seats. More upmarket food and drink choices will cater to a more well heeled fan more interested in the accoutrements to go with the game experience. Not the guy consuming in the parking lot before the game. That fan does nothing to increase the Bills revenue stream. That’s the model in the new NFL that the Bills have yet to join.
  7. The price increase in a new facility would not be gradual or minimal. The capacity would be reduced significantly to create demand and remove the flood of cheap tickets from the market. The best seats in the current stadium are wildly underpriced vs the secondary market . Without a significant upgrade in amenities there is no pricing power to charge more for the same seat at NEF. Any price increase there would indeed have to be more modest. A new facility with less seats , better amenities and even climate control would be priced accordingly and much closer to the rest of the NFL. In a nutshell, the welfare ticket prices would be a thing of the past. Increases in the minimum wage will have minimal if any impact on this.
  8. I disagree. The organization was in a state of flux/ clusterf**k due to missteps of ownership, so they punted on a QB when the perfect opportunity was right in front of them. I don’t think they had much else in mind other than getting compensation ( too little even) and kicking the can down the road. They might have thought they could trade for a QB, but I don’t believe it was much more carefully or elaborately planned/ considered than that.
  9. I for one hope SW has a good / great game today as it would help KC achieve victory. This keeps a potential AFCC game away from the NE area.
  10. Interesting theory, I guess ? However, I’m not buying it. It is reasonable to expect less rowdy drunken behavior as the price of attendance increases. Your assumption that potential attendees are just varying types of drunks is presumptuous to say the least. Breathalyzers at the gates is folly and will not happen.
  11. Again, the system doesn’t make the plays. Mahomes has shown more than enough of his athletic ability and uncanny habit of making crazy plays to convince skeptics at this point. Alex Smith couldn’t perform like him in that system with those players. He did what he was capable of, and Andy Reid is good at getting guys to perform to their capabilities. Josh Allen doesn’t make as many plays with his arm, and while he would put up better numbers with KCs personnel than BUF ‘s it wouldn’t be the 50 TD variety. Only a few QBs have done that in NFL history. How would the Chiefs offense look if you put Peterman in there ? How about the Pats ? The system can help, but the talent will determine the level of success. I don’t think the compensation for the trade was used to select Allen.
  12. It would cater to a more upscale demographic, which would likely reduce the amount of drunks attending the game.
  13. Cool story, but wtf cares ? Don’t understand the obsession with a player the Bills traded.
  14. Chiefs 40 Colts 29 LA Rams 31 Cowboys 21 LA Chargers 33 NE Pats* 24 Eagles 27 Saints 20
  15. That’s pretty much how the rest of the world works. Why is it a problem in the NFL ? Guys in power at the top hire their pals or guys ho know them. Not a big deal except for the media talking heads. Who cares ? Let them hire who they want to hire. Most of us will never have the chance to coach in the NFL. A lot of that is due to not knowing the right people, having the right friends, having the right connections. It’s not due to our race. This stuff is seriously out of hand now. Tomlin is a good coach , and many would agree with that statement. That aside, any talk of “ he should be fired “ by media pundits has nothing to do with his skin color.
  16. I figured Mayfield was good enough to go #1 as he was the best QB, but still didn’t think he would as he wasn’t quite 6’2 and a QB that height hadn’t been picked top ten. We all know what happened, but 5’8” ? I don’t think there’s much chance of that. Murray should play baseball, he’ll be crushed at the NFL level.
  17. Didn’t they use the Chiefs pick acquired in the trade ( plus another) to draft Edmunds ? I think that’s why.
  18. I don’t know if many would think that Mahomes would replicate his KC performance in BUF this season. A trade however is more about the long view, not a single year. Would the Bills be better off with Mahomes or White, Jones and Edmunds ? I’d say definitely with Mahomes. His time at QB would probably far exceed any of the other 3 players time with the team , possibly all of them. When you have a top QB, you keep him. It’s a pretty easy decision to me.
  19. No it doesn’t. It says trade all three before they even mention that the Bills like Allen. Then mentions he was acquired with their own first round pick, as in nothing to do with the Mahomes trade as that deal resulted in White, Jones and Edmunds.
  20. That kind of reduces any interest, as by then the outcome would be known. The question is far more interesting now. Would Bills fans ( or management ) trade those three players for Mahomes today? I would.
  21. The writer didn’t say anything about the Bills trading Allen. It was White, Jones, Edmunds.
  22. Mahomes probably isn’t throwing 50 TD passes in BUF this year, so there would be no MVP talk. Allen went 5-5 as a starter with poor passing numbers mostly. Is it crazy to think that Mahomes superior play could have made the 6-10 Bills a 9-7 or even 10-6 playoff team ? I don’t think it is. While Mahomes wouldn’t have the caliber of team or coaching that he has in KC, it’s apparent watching him that he’s a transcendent talent that does things you cannot and even wouldn’t coach a player to do on a football field. I hope Allen turns out to be the franchise QB the Bills have been waiting for, but he isn’t Mahomes.
  23. Just going by what the ESPN guy implied in his sentence. He mentioned White, Jones and Edmunds and said they would trade those 3 for Mahomes. Allen wasn’t part of that.
