  1. The writer didn’t say anything about the Bills trading Allen. It was White, Jones, Edmunds.
  2. Mahomes probably isn’t throwing 50 TD passes in BUF this year, so there would be no MVP talk. Allen went 5-5 as a starter with poor passing numbers mostly. Is it crazy to think that Mahomes superior play could have made the 6-10 Bills a 9-7 or even 10-6 playoff team ? I don’t think it is. While Mahomes wouldn’t have the caliber of team or coaching that he has in KC, it’s apparent watching him that he’s a transcendent talent that does things you cannot and even wouldn’t coach a player to do on a football field. I hope Allen turns out to be the franchise QB the Bills have been waiting for, but he isn’t Mahomes.
  3. Just going by what the ESPN guy implied in his sentence. He mentioned White, Jones and Edmunds and said they would trade those 3 for Mahomes. Allen wasn’t part of that.
  4. White, Jones, and Edmunds for Mahomes ? Absolutely would make that trade, any GM wouldn’t be able to get the paperwork in fast enough. No problem with not re signing Gilmore. These types of decisions happen all the time, and SG isn’t a game changer / difference maker. Most CBS aren’t , and he’s definitely not Revis in his prime or anything close really.
  5. I hope the heck not. This could put an AFCCG in Foxboro. The bane of football ( and Bills )fans everywhere.
  6. Do you like where your tax dollars are going now ? You still have to pay them. They might as well use them for something I like if they’re going to take them anyway. Just my opinion.
  7. This will not happen I’d be surprised if a decision has already been made, they may be trying to get a feel of how many “ new” season ticket buyers they would have to gain at the newer more expensive prices in a modern facility with amenities. Some of the current customers will be priced out of a new facility and others may downgrade to less expensive seating. Some may decide they cannot afford the best seats and drop their tickets. This type of data would be critical if they decide to go new. A new stadium with zero government $$ probably wouldn’t happen in Buffalo, though it has been done elsewhere.
  8. At best it’s a major generalization, but there is an untapped market for seats in a climate controlled environment.
  9. What an impressive display of dominance by the Clemson Tigers. Alabama didn’t score since the 2nd quarter. Two INTs, 3 stops on 4th down in the red zone . About the only thing the Clemson D couldn’t manage to do was fall on one of the 4 fumbles. Trevor Lawrence and Ross were amazing. Score a huge win for the good guys ! Bravo !
  10. KC has a history of coming up short in home playoff games , but they’ve never had a QB the likes of Mahomes. More like Elvis Grbac and Alex Smith. They haven’t been blown out in many of those playoff games, theyve been more of the snakebitten variety. I agree they’re unlikely to be blown out. The Colts are a legitimate threat, but did any team show up less than the Texans on WC weekend ? Whatever happens, I hope there isn’t an AFC title game in NE a couple weeks from now.
  11. Good observation, I hadn’t noticed it but makes sense. Edit : meant to quote matter2003
  12. I’ve been on the board almost since its inception, some of it under a different handle. Plenty during SGs time as a Bill. Yeah, a lot of complainers and “ hot takes” on the board so I’m sure there was a fair share of that with regards to Stephon. I’ve always thought he was a good player, but not great or complete and never liked his outward demeanor . I was against signing him to a huge deal when the time came, but was fine with them picking up his fifth year option. I don’t know what the current regimes take is on the CB position, but previous ones pretty clearly felt it was a draft and replace position that wasn’t allocated top $$ on a second contract.
  13. They give up a lot of passing plays between the 20s. They get very few red zone penalties called against them even though they commit tons of illegal contact and PI. Their opponents on the other hand get the dreaded offensive holding call ( biggest scam going in the NFL to any fan paying attention) Sadly, Officials look the other way when the defender has an eagle wing on their helmet, and it’s been that way for years. So their D is usually not statistically good except in the RZ, as the Pats* stopped retaining/ paying their top defensive players over ten years ago. Gilmore’s signing was an outlier for them, as there is a laundry list of top defenders they’ve let go over the years.
  14. Whatever floats your boat. I don’t remember many fans thinking SG was bad. Just not very likeable and a bit overrated. Replaceable for less cap $$ for sure. Now that he’s on the darling team of the majority of sports media, he’s a bit overrated. He’s a Pat* , so who cares ?
  15. It was very slightly tipped by an Eagles player, not noticeable until you watch a zoomed in and slowed down video. Even the player ( Hester) said he didn’t think he got enough of it. Regardless, it wasn’t short and looked like Parkey just pushed it; put too much into it on the retry. The guy has a penchant for misses and hitting posts, and this was known to Pederson. He said he was burning that TO regardless of who the kicker was, but this K ( and many others) just looked unsure of himself. I think he psyched himself out and that “ practice kick” when the TO was called made him overthink it. That won’t work for every kicker, but for one who is already unsure of himself I believe it made the difference. As for Rex, I agree. That’s the kickers job, and he failed.
  16. Don’t get the love affair and banner waving for an unpopular, departed ex Bill who now wears a Pats* uniform to boot. Can’t keep every player and the Bills are fine in the secondary. Smart and shrewd financial move. Any affection for a former Bills player should end immediately if they join the evil empire.
  17. I would agree that’s it’s not all offensive. Many are given to overstated hot takes on the board lol. Yes, by the four times I was including Lynch’s 1st down carry. SEA just weren’t as good passing as they were running. Russell’s good, but I’d have liked his chances on a keeper there than throwing the ball. He could outrun the D to the pylon.
  18. I don’t know if that would do it, but if Foles somehow guides the Eagles to another SB win trading Wentz becomes viable. It sounds crazy, but PHL gave up a lot to draft him and could garner a much bigger return in a Wentz deal than one for Foles. Factor in the injuries and that Foles will only be 30 next season and it seems a lot less crazy. It would seem mind boggling, but why would you get rid of a two time Super Bowl winning QB at his thirtieth birthday ? That’s right, you wouldn’t.
  19. Certain Refs see to this far more than others. Two who actually weren’t afraid if their crew threw flags on NE for things like offensive holding and PI are unfortunately retired ( Steratore and E Hochuli). Others who don’t fear the Eagle wing are Blakeman, Boger, and Vinovich. If John Parry gets assigned the Pats* game, expect the one sided deluge of yellow laundry you reference.
  20. Maybe, but it doesn’t let them off the hook for being complicit. Like it or not, the NFL rules favor offense. That needs to be used to ones advantage. The flow of the game matters, and there something to be said about dancing with who brung ya. I think Chris Collinsworth said it best in the aftermath. “I’d just give it to Lynch four times from the one, and if they can stop you well then god bless ‘em.” Passing in tight quarters near the goal line is fine, if you’re Peyton Manning with some good receivers and it’s what you’re good at. As for Atlanta, why depend on your defense when you have a 28 point lead and every first down takes two minutes off the clock. Just make it easier on yourself, because the league makes it hard to play defense. Every second that Brady sits on the bench is a good thing. When your opponent only has one way left to win, you don’t give it to them.
  21. Late season games have always been a tough sell. You can blame it on the team quality, but this was the case even in the glory years when the team was doing well. That was before giant flat screen TVs and HD quality pictures in the comfort of your home or an establishment. A covered stadium might be anathema to some , but the well heeled customer the modern NFL caters to probably doesn’t want to sit in the cold in a spartan facility to watch games amongst drunken college kids. Ticket sales aren’t as huge a deal as they once were because of the huge TV money. That’s divided equally. But for a team to pad their bottom line, they need increased local revenue from expensive seating that stays with the home team. As for the general seating that is split 60/40 with the away team, the other owners don’t love the tiny chunk of $$ they get from a trip to NEF. Somethings going to change in the not too distant future, and it may be to the chagrin of some fans.
  22. Attendance dropped from 534,200 in 2017 to 519,625 in 2018. Looks like attendance was down across the board.
  23. Agreed, I think the better teams prevailed this weekend. I’d concur that more than one of them can win in the divisional round, but I’d put the Cowboys as least likely to do so. While their D and pass rush is portable, I think Dak is more likely to put in a sub par performance than the other QBs. It should be an entertaining slate; the divisional round weekend is my favorite of the year.
  24. Lack of talent at the offensive skill positions, to go with the aforementioned and acknowledged weakness on the OL. This and the inexperienced QB likely led to the simple gameplans and lackluster playcalling. I’m not sold on Daboll, but I’ll hold off on concern about playcalls until he has a talented offense that underperforms.
