Brian Daboll cost us the division title

The constant was a lack of QB and offensive talent to go with it. Hopefully that has changed , but we’re not out of the woods completely yet. -

Wow Eagles awoke from the dead in this 4th quarter. Won’t hate not seeing the Cowpokes in the postseason though. -

NE wanted the Bills game just as much, and hung on for a 7 point win that was decided late in the 4th quarter. Just a play or two here or there makes a big difference. Brady threw a pick 6 today, so that was huge. -

True. Probably Marchibroda. The offense was noticeably worse after his departure ( plus a lot of player departures as well) -

Nope. It was crazy how he was sacrificed after the defense got dismembered by Fitz and the Jets. -

Week 17: NJ Jets at Buffalo Bills PostGame

Wouldn’t beating the Jets have taken quite a bit more ? Such as playing the starters on offense ? Seems like you’re advocating against this , lamenting injuries ( which can happen at any time in any game) . So which is it ? The players looked confident today, and I doubt their confidence is shaken in any way. It will take a lot more to beat the Pats*, too. The Bills have about two wins over Brady in his career. The team isn’t there yet, but they are in the playoffs, and can win too. Your “ probation “ should be revoked. In a meaningless game, why not put it to the test ? It’s a minor quibble, to be sure though. -

They should be aware that some of these calls have been getting overturned in recent weeks. Earlier in the season, that was not the case. -

Steelers are not playoff material. Titans are a real threat in the tournament ( Pats* could be shown an early exit) and the Cowchips are a little better than the Eagles, since someone has to win that division. -
It’s just a few things. Flores has great intel on the Pats, and his team is playing a lot better now than they were. Lastly, the Pats* just aren’t that much better of a team than the Dolphins on any given day at this point.

PIT should have challenged that play. Looked like a TD -

I’d venture that his “ personal preferences “ are aligned with what he believes will win . Not saying I agree with him, but there is no other motivation for his decisions than winning a game. If you believe his preferences may have been changed by today’s game, that’s another story altogether. -

Now I want the Titans in the tournament. They are built in a way that can knock the Patsies out. Beating up HOU a bit physically is a nice benefit for the Bills as well. -
Picking NFL games in that manner is a fools errand. Different players, different matchups, different coaches. I’ll say it opens HOU -6

I wonder what day NFLN is going to show Pats*/ Phins replay this week ? They rarely re show NE losses, at least I haven’t been able to find them. Want to see that game. -

They were able to foil Brady, but that’s only half the battle. You can’t hide your QB, and Allen played poorly that game. Did Fitzy win by handing off up at Gillette today ? At some point, players have to make the plays. The Bills running game isn’t of the variety that can impose their will on an opponent when they know what’s coming. Besides, the ‘phins had all of 63 yards rushing today. -

The Bills could have won the division every season of their existence ; if they only won more games or were able to beat the Pats*. What have they shown you that says they are able to beat that team when TB starts a game ? They weren’t winning the division ths year, and yes it HAS been a great season. The Bills absolutely CAN win their playoff game next week too. -

I disagree. They couldn’t have, because they haven’t shown any ability to beat the Pats*. It’s a problem, but not close to a dark cloud over their season. It’s just where they’re at right now until proven otherwise. While the ‘phins didn’t exactly have a season to remember, they have shown an ability to achieve a split with NE fairly regularly. I won’t miss Daboll if he’s gone in a few weeks ( provided they promote from within for some continuity offensively) but nothing the futility vs NE goes deeper than Daboll. -
Week 17: NJ Jets at Buffalo Bills PostGame
Boatdrinks replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I guess I’m just not to the point where I expect the Bills to beat NE when Brady starts at QB. Ever. Way past the “ show me” point with that situation. My main concern for the playoffs ( aside from the Bills winning as many games as they can win the right to play in) is no Pats* in the Super Bowl. Today was a big step toward that happening. All about expectations being tempered by realism. -

Look on the bright side. The Bills are unlikely to make the Super Bowl, and they didn’t make enough plays to beat the Pats*. NE now has to play in the WC round, which means they are likely to exit the tournament long before the big game. That’s a gift to football fans in general, and our Bills can definitely win their playoff game next week as well. -

Nope. The bye was more important, though they couldn’t have one without the other. -

Not sad at all. Pats wouldn’t have lost two in a row, and we can’t beat that team for whatever reason(s). That’s on the Bills to solve, but it’s not like they had a real opportunity slip by. They’ve beaten TB twice in his entire career. -

Perhaps, but what sucked the most about him today was his lack of feel and presence in the pocket. He looked about a full second slow out there.
