  1. Right now N.O. has $6.7 Million. That is without Bridgewater. They don't have enough to pay their draft picks much less Bridgewater or Ansah, unless they release someone.
  2. Really no reason to cut ducasse or Bodine at this time. Neither present much dead cap money so let training camp sort it out.
  3. They certainly got some "under the radar" Pickups for the OL with the exception of Morse (good choice for a position of need). I agree that all these pickups already have a skill level not likely to be found in draft, so I'm all for it. I also like that all these pickups look like they have something to prove and want to get better. Bills are giving them that opportunity. Bills may never be the destination of choice for superstar talented players who will command a huge investment but they can be a great spot to pick up players that can produce at a high level if given the opportunity. Get your impact players in the draft. I like the direction the team appears to be going. Thanks for the writeup.
  4. I'm thinking Oliver at 9 and Irv Smith Jr in second. Would not be surprised to see Devin White , Wilkins, Hockenson or Jacobs at 9 either. All Impact players. They are definitely in a position to get BPA at 9. I also think they are thin at LB and need 2 from draft or FA.
  5. I must have missed it, (slow typer) How much guaranteed?
  6. Until terms are announced, it's difficult to judge this deal. If there is no or little guaranteed money involved, it might be a great deal, even if it doesn't work out.
  7. OMG, we're losing the off-season and it's only 4.5 hours into free agency period.
  8. If we kept doing this year after year, eventually we will have all the picks in the draft, keep the best 51 and trade the rest for future draft picks. Let's just hope it's a good talent year.
  9. I think Higgins could be worth a 5th round tender. If he doesn't pan out, there is little dead money involved, he has been productive. He is a little on the light side but is quick and decisive. You know what your getting with him versus a 5th round RB from this draft. RB is a position that needs an influx of youthful talent on Bills roster and I feel McCoy and Ivory will be gone next year. Would still need an Ivory type power back but Higgins looks somewhat comparable to McCoy ( obviously not as productive career wise) and is younger.
  10. Worst case scenario is Bills get shutout in free agency for quality OL, Lose Mills/ Miller, can't trade down in draft, draft non OL BPA in first only to see a run on quality OL and have to spend draft capital to move up for OL projects that may be no better than Mills/ Miller but without the experience.
  11. If Ed Oliver is there at 9 he would be the BPA and while many might think a 3 technique DL is not a need, I believe a penetrating DL would create a lot of problems for offenses by bringing pressure up the middle, making Hughes/ Murphy more effective by preventing QBs from being able to step up in the pocket.
  12. The Bills placed a value on him. If he can get more than that, he should move on. As has been stated previously, there are a lot better FA and draft prospects than Philips out there. That said, they appear to want him back for a price both sides are aware of. I would like to see him back, he has some upside, having been with the team last year and there is something to be said about knowing exactly what you got in a player. Not every signing has to be a superstar.
  13. Bills offensive line lacked cohesion, scheme, and talent. You need all three to run an efficient offense. Finding the right talent for the scheme they employ will be the hardest. Cohesion will take a lot of time together. If all the pieces fall into place I believe the line will really start to come together from 2020 on. I also believe, if all the pieces come together, that the line and offense can still be much improved in 2019. Add a TE, WR, and RB and the Bills just might have an NFL competitive offense that doesn't depend on the QB to be your leading rusher.
  14. I like the fact he is always pushing the ball down field. He needs to learn though that short passes would put even more pressure on the defense and actually increase the probability of longer routes being open as the game progresses. Bills have had too many check down QBs in past and they become easier to defend. Allens ability to run and the long ball threat really pressures defenses. With improved running game and some shorter passes to further stress the defense, Dabol can put together an exciting and efficient offense with exciting big play potential. I expect huge improvement from Allen this next year, part from better supporting cast, part from scheme and part from the maturation progress on Allen and the rest of the team.
  15. I thought Bills always win the off season.
  16. Great year for Mahomes. I'd still keep Allen, Tra White and Edmunds over Mahomes as it turned out. I think both teams won on that trade but only the future will tell if it was the right choice for the Bills.
  17. I'm thinking they will look to move down, pick up an extra 2 or 3, then use some of their latter extra picks to move up into 2, 3 or 4. That would give them 7 picks in first 4 rounds. (they already had 2 picks in 4th).
  18. Depends on how they lose. I hate loses caused by missed tackles, penalties, WR drops. When they win, I'll be on this web site, I'll review the recap, and highlights and all is good with the world When they lose, I will not listen to John Murphy show for about 3 days.
  19. We should be taking all the Alabama players since some experts thought they would beat the Bills if they played them. But I can see taking the Clemson player since they beat Bama. Great draft, but I think the LeMoyne player was a reach as I had a 5th round grade on him.
  20. All the Bills need to do is make sure they get impact players at each of those positions and they'll get their 10 wins. Easy Peasy.
  21. Assistant Inside LB Coach? I didn't know there was such a thing as an Inside LB coach. In a 4-3, he'd have 1 guy to coach. In a 3-4, you might need an assistant.
  22. Some players will always be rookies, no matter how long they play.
