  1. Tannehill always seemed to get confused when the first read wasn't there. Throw in a defense he's not expecting and he is an interception waiting to happen. With the talent they put around him, he should have been better. So ya, he's a 6 year rookie.
  2. Pick #9 is too high for a TE unless one of them shoots to the top of the board between now and the draft. I still hope Bills can trade down in the first to get an extra 2 or 3. That looks to be the area where the most value might be in this draft. In fact, I also hope they use some of there latter draft choices to move up into the 2, 3, 4 range. They have a lot of options this year and we know Beane is not afraid of moving up or down to get what they want.
  3. If Miami is seriously considering tanking next year Crossman would certainly be a key pickup. I hear Rex is available also.
  4. Don't do it. Tannehill has only been in the league 6 years, don't pull the plug now. Just overspend on a few free agents and give it another whirl. If anyone should think about tanking next year, it should be the Patriots. Get rid of the coach and their over the hill QB. Maybe they should pick up Tannehill if available. Maybe an even trade with Miami for Brady. Just offering suggestions, I doubt they'll listen.
  5. McCoy currently has three more years left on his current contract with no dead cap. Basically $13 mil per year for 3 years. Bills could drop him at any time and be off the hook. Having no dead cap is a great incentive to sign a DT like McCoy. I originally said offer a 7th, but maybe 2 #7s or some combination of the 10 picks they have this year. Getting McCoy would fill a hole with a strength.
  6. When I look at the film of that play, it looks to me that Clay's feet kicked up some dirt as he was attempting to come back for the ball which might indicate a loss of footing. That field was in horrible shape and a number of other players were having footing difficulties. I do agree that his play has declined over the last few years. Injuries have really hampered him so much that he didn't get to practice much during the practices between games. It never appeared he and Allen were on the same page.
  7. I believe Oliver would be considered an impact player and worthy of pick # 9. Loved his highlight video.
  8. $13 million for a soon to be 31 yr old DT. His salary has no dead cap. Give TB a 7th rounder and take over his contract. He is a little expensive but his contract could be dropped at any time. For the cost of a 7th rounder, he could help solidify a pretty good DL. On the other side, there will be a lot of talented DLs in this draft that can be had at pick 9 for a lot less money. If Bills want to use the 9th pick on a position other than DL, McCoy might prove to be a valuable option as they look to fortify other holes on the team.
  9. There is no reason not to bring him back. Bills could still cut him during final cuts if his injury concerns are still there. You know what you have with Clay, and if you find someone better for $4.5 Million or more, decide then. The $4.5 dead cap is there whether he is cut now or anytime later.
  10. Totally agree. Losing him along with Incognito, and Glenn really put the OL in a shambles. I liked Wood and he certainly wasn't a liability as were Groy and Bodine. Still wonder why Groy didn't perform better when finally given the opportunity.
  11. Quite true. Also, by taking a lesser pick at 9 (let's say WR), the team may find that in second round they might have gotten a WR that was ranked very closely to the one they took in first. Now, they lost on the impact player they might have had in the first round and find themselves not taking a WR in second cause they just got one. ON and on it goes. EJ Manuel was taken because he was the best QB in the class. Problem was, he was still only graded as a second round or lower pick. You have to know the value for the players that fill the needs of your team. Need and Value have to align.
  12. He has three years left on current contract, none of it guaranteed. TB has cap issues going into 2019. I would think that Bills would look to set up a trade to get him at current contract. Offer one of our 4th round picks.
  13. Love the signing. He has been a sound addition to the Bills since first signed. Like Williams, he has been the kind of player you want on your team. Glad we get him for one more year.
  14. I'd definitely take Eifert over a dead guy if their contracts were equal, but I'm pretty sure you could get the dead guy for league minimum and I would want a performance based contract.
  15. Very interesting story. Looks like he has turned his life around. Definitely has the talent to be an NFL receiver. Will watch him closely during Training Camp and Pre-season. He made some WOW catches in the highlight films. Bills could use some WOW.
  16. I used to dislike Dallas along with the Pats but I have mellowed over the years and concentrate my dislike only on the Pats.
  17. I'd think you'd like at least one WR/TE that is a reliable target even when not open. Definitely need the speed as Foster was able to generate pressure on defense as year progressed. The big guy/ big target didn't do much for the Bills last year and the offense appears to have gotten better after Holmes/ KB were released. Dabol looks like he was able to put WRs in position to make plays, but need WRs that can catch balls and make plays. Big, tall, slower/ shorter, faster is less important than getting open and making plays. I would like to see a few WOW plays from these guys, something I seldom saw this last year.
  18. Another year to work with Dabol. Will come in established as the starting QB. A whole preseason to develop chemistry with the WRs and TE. If Bills can establish a solid ground attack, can you imagine the pressure put on a defense. Allen is dangerous because he can run and has a strong arm. Imagine the opposing defenses having to also defend a running game. Allen would be even more dangerous. Can't wait til next season. I imagine I will watch this video a number of times this off season.
  19. So it appears from this stat the Bills wouldn't have gone far this year even if they did make the playoffs.
  20. Go back and watch some Rex Ryan coached Bills teams. Bills are light years ahead of where they were then. Bills could have beaten HOU, Jets, Miami this year and been 9-7 with huge turnover on the OL, a new QB, and one WR from previous year. At 9-7 they still would not have made the playoffs. With over $90 mil in cap space and 10 draft picks, the needle is moving in the right direction. Team is playing hard and I am enthused for next year and beyond. McBeane duo is not the problem, they are the solution. Can they get better, certainly. They are growing as the team is growing. Go Bills.
  21. I was very impressed with some of the touch passes Darnold threw vs the Bills. I think he will be a very good QB. One difference I noticed in very limited viewing of Darnold is that he has better receivers than Allen currently has. Anderson made some catches versus the Bills that no one on the Bills have made this year. I still like Allen better cause all he needs is a better supporting cast. I believe the Jets/ Bills series is going to be the teams to compete (once Brady hangs it up). I look forward to it.
  22. I never liked the fumble that goes out of bounds in the endzone rule. Worst case scenario should be that ball goes to point on field where fumble occured. Offense keeps ball, on to next down. Letting Incognito go was a mistake in my opinion. They should have paid the man instead of trying to bring him back for less. Losing three starters from 2017 really hurt the OL. This offense would be much better if the OL could open holes for the running game. Would not be surprised to see Clay and McCoy gone next year. Hope Williams and Alexander come back for one more year. They are so valuable as players and mentors. Anyone who isn't impressed with Allen doing what he's done with that OL isn't seeing the same game I'm seeing. What he lacks is experience and better talent around him. I was shocked at all the missed tackles yesterday. I was shocked that the Bills looked like they had never seen a Jet Sweep. Even more shocked that Bills never really adjusted. Nice write-up Shaw66.
  23. I would love to see what Allen could do with the same amount of time that Darnold had. I would like to see some Bills WRs make plays like the Jets WRs did. Darnold did make some nice throws. I can see where the Darnold/ Allen duel will be interesting for years to come. Our OL is really bad, but then again, they haven't really played together as a unit much. Same with the STs. There have been lots of changes this year in personnel. Some of these players better get it together or they might not have much of a future in this league. Actually, I don't really care that Bills lost. To me, Allen led them down on a game winning drive that Sts and the defense gave back up. Still that was a great catch by the Jets WR covered by White on that final drive.
