  1. Shocked there are people complaining. Safety concerns? They are already significant as the league currently sits. 1 game does not drastically alter this. Odd number of games? Can't figure out why literally anyone complains about this. NFL greed? Like it just got here? C'mon then stop giving them money. If it ain't broke, don't fix it? OK- but that's not how we operate in literally anything else. Imagine the guy "why are we making paper, stone tablets and chisels work just fine". It seems to me this will end up with expanded rosters (more players get paid), larger salary cap, less pre-season, and more football to watch. I can't think of any legitimate complaint from a fan perspective. The only complaint I could even take seriously is players on a current contract playing for less per game- but of course even this will be adjusted given a couple seasons to transition.
  2. *Regular season OP do you watch the games? They mention this stat every week.
  3. This is a great post and comparison between the two regimes. Only thing is I reject your comment about throwing McD, etc "under the bus" after chiefs loss. Beane and McD have done an amazing job AND losing the AFCCG was mostly on the coaches. They are not mutually exclusive, and we don't have to force an "either, or" argument. They need to get better, and that's ok. Their progress does not delegitamize the need for more growth. The moment you stop obcessing about your failures is the same moment you stop getting better. And we are not done getting better.
  4. Lol. Strangely, this is the first thing I thought of when I read the article this morning. I knew there would be a thread about it or at least a ressurection of his original thread!
  5. I have a hard time believing it's the NFL's best draft ever. Not sure I even agree with the supposition that Beane hit on "every single player". I mean, I like Beane but this analysis seems fantastical with a buggy placed squarely in front of the horse.
  6. Maybe they will, but we'll be in the playoffs again and need to have a plan for when officials are "letting them play" like often happens in big games.
  7. Sure. If he wants one he can have one. Not sure it's neccesary, but you never know. If I'm Beane, I have no interest in trading him, so if he wants a NTC it's not worth negotiating. Seems like basically insurance for a potential new GM (like the Watson situation) and in that case it's not Beane's problem anymore, so yeah you give the guy a NTC no questions asked.
  8. I tend to agree with this right now in a salary cap squeeze year. Josh is already the whole team basically. He goes down, we go down. And I guess I'm ok with that. Now if somebody wants to be a backup for affordable salary (Fitz, Mitch, etc) I'm all for it- but this year may just ride with what we have in Barkley and maybe even let Fromm out of his covid bubble and see what he can do!
  9. This song on its own may be copyright infringement (not exactly sure how this works). This is a re-work (new lyrics) of an old Don Gibson song called "oh, lonesome me", covered and made popular again in the 90's by The Walkers
  10. Love this. I've liked Stafford alot since his mic'd up injury moment when he was a rookie iirc. Heart. That kid's got it. And the Patriots have none.
  11. Love what this does to Watson's value if he gets dealt into the AFCE.
  12. Holy crap. That is it! Can't believe I never looked at the bills website 🤦 Hate that stuff on the back though. Yowza
  13. Okay... Who knows where to find Kyle Brandt's jacket from the Buffalo vs. the world hype vid?? I have been looking for it non-stop since the video came out but have not been able to find it. If anyone knows please share the link... I need that jacket!
  14. Got nothing for you. This one stings. A close game I could feel good about, but a trouncing? Nope. I guess theres always next year.
  15. Absolutely the defense needs to play ALOT better. Special teams, play calling, in-game management. You can't win a game giving up 38. But much like the offense needs field position and stops, the defense needs the offense to sustain drives. It's not as cut and dry as saying "the d gave up 38". Our offense was figured out in that we are one dimensional. Many gimpy players? Sure, but if we had any semblance of a run game it wouldn't be dire straits everytime a wr gets banged up. Josh and Stefon can't do it on their own. An explosive back who can catch out of the backfield would put this offense on another stratosphere (along with a good/great TE). Overall we need more weapons and RB is the most glaring hole. They lost moss but he was far from a game breaker when healthy, and even at his best- "explosive" will never describe him.
  16. They just need to sit down with Josh this year and tell him that we weren't good enough this year and we need the money to get the players we need to win the big games. I feel like Josh is the kind of guy to understand the money will come to him- but now is not the time.
  17. Offense averaged somewhere around 20 in the playoffs. Historically speaking, scoring 22 pts avg is not winning many playoff games. I don't understand why some are digging in and acting like everything is fine. This offense was figured out in the last few weeks. It's been quite awhile since we averaged 38 and that was my point- where did it go?
  18. Yeah- Seems like Daboll "outsmarted himself" this post-season. Offense was just so, well... "Let's just line up and play" Crazy since the "exotic" stuff worked so well all year. This game, more than any other should have featured all the smoke and mirrors. And where the heck were the hot routes yesterday when kc was just blitzing all night?
  19. Love this team and staff... But this was the worst day of coaching that McDermott has had since being hired. Just a really terrible plan and settling for fg's against that KC squad is just so pansy. The first fg- ok get some points.... Still a bad decision but why compound the problem doing it 47 more times? Just objectively stupid.
  20. I could not disagree more. We have no running game and the "two backs on rookie deals" are not explosive or even good. Being on rookie deals is not enough to stay on the 53. Lack of run production is why we were limited in the playoffs. Playmakers, playmakers, playmakers. We need 'em to keep up with the Mahomes'
  21. What the ***** is going on with settling for fg's!? Have to play to win against this team. The defense is not going to shut down kc the rest of this game.
  22. That's the first thing I thought. The league did this because they think TB will be in the Super Bowl and they want to give an advantage to him. They already wrote the 30 for 30, and all the hype of tom teriffic sailing off into the sunset with rings from multiple teams. They aren't even trying to hide it anymore. But long story short.... Who cares. It's been a fight to get here, and the fight's not over yet! 2 more games to glory.
  23. Ok.... Who's Jimmy Spags normal account? I have to know!
  24. I wouldn't call your take "being the contrarian". Seems to me everyone is saying the offense needs to get back to regular season form to win this game. This isn't a Colts team who snuck in or Baltimore with a limited passer. I think for Davis and Beasley, they are banged up a bit. To your point of "playing like they were behind" I understand your point. I feel like that was the game plan though. Be incredibly aggressive with the offense, because the Ravens aren't built to play from behind. The plan was (imo) to try and pile up points early (like most of our games this year) and win the game before the 4th quarter even starts. The reason it looked bad is that it didn't work. The wind and a slightly off day for Josh blew our plan out of the water... The the defense was good enough to save the game, and that's just about time because the offense has been bailing out the defense for the better part of the year. Now, as for KC I believe they will pull out all the stops. This is the game they were waiting for, the rematch with the defending Champs. I think it's going to be like the first Pats* game where they play like they have nothing to lose. I'm expecting some option plays, alot more mckenzie/knox motion, play action, and qb draws. We might even see a fake punt, fg, or surprise onside. Jmo
  25. No... But it's not going anywhere, so... Never really understood the glorification of the italian mafia, being proud to be a POS- but whatever. It's not entirely unfitting, we will not be gracious winners and we weren't gracious losers either.
