  1. Pancho Billa Stadium Just for this year.
  2. Again I really agree with you on most points, but let me put forth myself as an example because I'm curious to see what you think about it. I own a small bbq restaurant and bar in Geneva NY. I haven't "made it" by any means and like many restaurants right now we are fighting for our lives. I don't mean to sound like I am in a dire situation, I am hopeful when we open back up (this Tuesday), we will be busy and at least keep the books in the black long enough for everything to get back to some semblance of normal. So, say one of my employees wants to make a radical political stands at work. They are not doing it in a way that stops them from doing their job, but thanks to the hundreds of people that come through each day, they get decent exposure of their radical beliefs (whatever they may be), and "furthers the cause". Sounds ok right? They aren't interrupting their work, after all. Consider this- that political stands has a chance to (however severely) negatively effect my business. Maybe I lose some business, maybe because covid has already weakened our stance, my business doesn't survive (again no matter how likely). The employee really has nothing at stake other than a chance of losing their job, where I have the chance of losing everything. So basically allowing my employees to make political stands at work could cause me to lose everything. I only pose this because the "business" many people speak of in a negative light are huge corporations, but in actuality more Americans are employed by small businesses. I'm a regular person that grew up poor, in an area of poor socioeconomic status- certainly not some elite, and I know I'm not the only business owner that, despite popular belief, doesn't have a huge bank account or nice things. Truth be told, my wait staff makes more money than me every single day. I don't resent that, I'm happy to provide viable jobs, but I don't think any business should ever be on the line because of political beliefs held by someone it gainfully employs.
  3. So I figured Josh actually said something controversial....... But no. This guy is just projecting his insecurities on the quote. "The most backhanded compliment ever", lol to quote the guy in the video "puh-leez"
  4. Fair, but as I stated in a previous post, because of covid, I don't think anyone will be able to point at this with any conviction and say "its the kneeling that cost us". That makes this the exact right time. 2016 and 2020 are also very different socially, as you alluded to. As a big military supporter and a red-blooded Patriot I was against it 4 years ago but have become more informed in the time since. If you don't pay enough attention it can be tough to really understand what's going on.
  5. 100% agree with the sentiment of your post, but this is not a constitutional matter, and I think it just gets in the way to argue that. These players are on the clock, and getting paid for their time (very handsomely). Obviously if the NFL is cool with it then it's a non-issue, but the 1st amendment doesn't really play here. I mean, sure they "have the right" to do it, but the NFL "has the right" to sanction, penalize, or fire them for it. Obviously they won't do that though. It was easy when it was just kaep, now it's half the league or more. So now, even though this isn't a constitutional matter, I think it's more closely likened to a strike. The league can't really live without all the star players, so they have to deal with it. Thank you for your service!
  6. Hard for me to pick from those two. Too many things these days are presented as binary options. I support the movement for racial equality I do not consider America and the American Government/Police as the same thing so I feel it's still a bit of a misappropriation to do it during the anthem. Not really that it's offensive, but I personally think it steps on their own message by alienating many folks who may otherwise sympathize with the cause. My only real issue with it is that I don't let my employees protest or make political stands while at work, that's a dangerous game. As a matter of fact that's the rule at my bar- everyone knows "no religion or politics". But if the NFL (their employer) has no problem with it, who am I to register an opinion? But I'm not particularly offended by it, either. How about a choice for "tolerance", let them to do whatever they feel is right. I do hope this movement yields some well-overdue reform in the way we deal with race relations, and I believe the spirit of America will drive us forward and we will come out a better society for it. My final thoughts are that the amount of people who will stop following the NFL because of this is miniscule. Even the staunchest conservatives (if they are NFL fans) will trash this publicly but will still watch the games. And this year nobody can point to anything and say it's kneelings' fault because covid and our suspect politicians have already knee-capped this year. Seems like the time is right.
  7. Thanks! Got to the restaurant today and all the protests in Geneva were peaceful! Yay for my business Yay for Genevians Yay for the cause That's how it's done.
  8. I'm in Geneva NY, and alot of the protest that took place in Rochester last night is coming down to Geneva today. I locked up my restaurant and it's fingers crossed at this point. But I saw a LOT of out of state license plates when I left (that was about 7pm). Hoping when I get there tomorrow it's not trashed ? Sad thing is I support the protests and my restaurant (like many) is in a very very precarious position.
  9. Misleading wording. It's not really MVP, it's most valuable WAR (wins above replacement) So it's the guys with the biggest gap between them and the guy they followed. VERY far from an MVP list.
  10. Sounds like a guy who won't walk out at halftime. I don't see him "returning to form" though just because he's 32, but I do expect him to become a very reliable #2 opposite the goalie.
  11. And he pays attention to the fans! Not to mention Metallica trumps just about every other band, so.... Yeah it's better than the first.
  12. B We needed a #1 WR, and he "fits the bill" so to speak. But he cost too much and is a few inches too short.
  13. I like the move to simpler, clean styles this year. Gotta give credit to the bucs, pats*, and chargers. Chargers are the best of the bunch. Atl's are straight trash though.
  14. That's less of a report and more of a speculative "why not?" I read it and saw nothing of movement or action surrounding either organization, just a "hey, this would be a good idea" type article. I do agree and would LOVE this, but this just isn't a "report" at all.
  15. I remember Shady saying they used it in the RB room. Haven't heard anything about in in a few years tho.
  16. Only Kroft love I've seen is from Bengal fans ...
  17. Well he did win a game for us this year, so he might as well be on the payroll for the off-season.
  18. For me it felt like Maybin over Orakpo. I was screaming for Metcalf, and was completely shocked when they didn't take him. Honestly seemed like a no brainier to me. There is no way I'm alone on that. I still love Beane but I'm still upset about the Ford pick.
  19. -Do not advance -Advance to Divisional Round -Advance to Conference Championship -Advance to Super Bowl -Win Super Bowl Just a suggestion. I voted for win Super Bowl so my vote wouldn't change either way.
  20. This is bad news if your name is Josh Rosen
  21. Let's hope Josh shows his "clutch" gene in this one and has his national coming out party. Bills 23-21, Josh runs for 1TD and throws for 2. Hausch misses an extra point but nails a 50 yarder to win the game.
  22. Yes. They have not been great off extra rest or bye weeks. Stay in the game and don't change your routine.
  23. Wow what a list! Some of my favorites in this thread... Especially Tennessee Ernie Ford, AC/DC, and Metallica! Any of the above I'm cool with, but as previously mentioned Renegade seemed to work out pretty well for us last night...
  24. Gravity never quits The Earth is round(ish) The Pats* cheat These things are constants of nature. Unfortunately nothing will be done unless/until the profits are effected. But they won't be.
