  2. Yeah that's what I'm saying. The big guys dedicated to the line, with their hand in the dirt are still DE. The EDGE distinction is for the different guys who are pass rush specialists (to play from end of the line or OLB), the term did not replace DE.
  3. Because DE no longer describes the type of player. Edge is more of a hybrid DE/OLB that is put in position mostly just to rush the passer, imo of course.

  5. Would really make this a great draft imo. I was wishy washy about him at 9, but in rd 2 (even if we have to trade up) he's an easy 'run to the podium' type of guy for the Bills.
  6. Oh. Ok We shall see. I'm holding out hope.
  7. Huh? I must be missing something
  8. I think probably not. But I would like to see it.
  9. Now that we got Oliver with no extra picks I want to trade back into the first and get DK
  10. Nice. A blank by the Raiders Now let's get a QB or 2 off the board before 9 and we can catch some great value.

  12. They are in Nashville And Dolly is a national treasure.
  13. Geez, the o/u for TEs drafted in the 1st.... 2.5? I'll take the under for $100, Alex
  14. Just hit 130,000 on my rusty old 2004 Chevy pickup. Paid it off in '14 and I still love it as much as the day I picked it up ten years ago. My business partner (brother in law) keeps bugging me to get a new one, but I don't want one. I couldn't care less about 'appearances'. So I guess when the wheels fall off I'll get another, though I'm not looking forward to having a payment again, but mostly I hate worrying about scratches, dings, etc... An old truck is like an old pair of jeans- It's the most comfortable, is worn-in just right, and is reliable; even if it's not a looker.
  15. Yeah I'm afraid NE will take Hock. I don't necessarily want Hockenson, though I would be OK with the Bills picking him. But I will be upset if at the end of the night he's a Pat*. And of course if they get him somehow they will have traded up to 16 or something with just a pick swap and a 2045 7th rounder.
  16. Hmmmm. I remember after the draft last year JA17 said he was pretty sure BUF was drafting him. Said something to the effect of 'they said they would take me if they could'. So I would say you are right, it is not inconceivable he would have some inside info there. Of course I would be happy as hell with JA41, so long as we didn't part with another 1st rounder to make the trade.
  17. I wouldn't be disappointed with Jonah. I really like him as a prospect and think he's a 'process' guy through and through. It's not a flashy pick, but not every pick can be flashy. As much as I love the Beane machine, I would be ok with a lowkey draft.
  18. It's like when I wanted an Orakpo, but got a Maybin instead ?
  19. Tre is from the same place as Hank jr. I've never been to Shreveport, but it's in at least 100 country songs. For the sake of the convo: 3rd line...
  20. Sure. If that was actually a thing. I mean I guess I like your optimism. But obviously you are just making that up because you have no idea. Nobody knows that, not Beane, not McD, not Josh 'Jesus hands' Allen, and most certainly not billsredneck1. Also just plain no to two first round picks for a DL
  21. I'm cool with trading around the board, but next years 1st rounder is not for sale in this draft. (If it was up to me)
  22. Yeah, that is what I was trying to say as well. If we trade down, that's not 'the move', it's part of a larger system of moves to get more quality picks, and not to select a bunch of 4-7 rounders. We need top talent, and have plenty of 'competition depth' vet signings that will fill that role where late rounders can usually carve out a niche. Without that niche available, it's almost like there is no point in getting late rounders. IMO of course. But if I was in that case I would also be looking to pick up capital in 2020. You always get better picks a year out and beane likes having extra capital to slide up and down the board. Why not slide back a little, likely get the same player you wanted at 9, and set yourself up for a good draft next year at the same time. Certainly fits 'the bill' of building for 'now and for the future'. Good call. ?
  23. I think if he trades back it will be for a pick next year. Or he plans on moving up in other spots in the draft. There is no way I could be convinced that Beane drafts 10 or more players.
  24. Pats game 21st or 22nd. A regular season Saturday game? What the hell?
