  1. Can we please not condemn this regime until they prove they are inept. At least wait till 9:00 tonight.
  2. Nobody wants taylor hurt but I have no faith McD will put Peterman in with the 1s tonight and it's a fair assessment that That is precisely what everyone wants to see.
  3. There will be a turn around here, that much is certain. In general, no one here wants to lose. That said, there is a contingent that revel in the 15 minutes of fame that indescriminant, myopic team bashing gets them. I think the younger folks call them click baters. In general there's not a poster here who is unwilling to see the logic in a well thought out counterpoint. By contrast, if the drought happened to the patsies or jests their fan base would be screaming for the owners to move the team to the Phillipines and rename them the Manilla Folders.
  4. All that has to happen for all this Shady trade talk to go away is for the Bills to hang 30+ points on the Ravens tonight. If they stink it up again this craziness will go on and on and on.
  5. Hopes: Both teams bring their A game so we see what we really have this year Our O line provides a clean pocket whistle to whistle D allows less than 50 yds rushing, 150 passing. Expectations: Both teams bring their A game Taylor spends the night running for his life Defense out scores the Offense.
  6. Since the writer has chosen to use an adjective that in modern vocabulary usage denotes a heightened level of ire, and then follows it up with a one word image that precisely fits the point he's trying to convey, we should steer clear of labeling it "dribble". Maybe drivel, but never dribble. This is, of course, only my limited experience showing and I realize it sucks to not be good enough.
  7. Only thing that makes sense. And a trip to the Super Bowl would be on the backs of the defense, not taylor.
  8. Everyone here should be able to agree with this. The number of people who want to dump taylor now and anoint Peterman elite without proof is infinitesimal. We all want proof, whether its eye test or stats and you won't get that till Peterman gets playing time with the ones and actual game experience. The only failure is not finding out what we have before burning draft picks on a complete unknown. No more gadget QBs. I want somebody (anybody) who possesses all the requisite skills for the position. If taylor can't elevate his game, he's done. If Peterman is only a good manager, backup. Hell, if they have to draft two a year till they hit on one I'm ok with that. Just don't half-ass it.
  9. I would hope that means taylor's performance warrants sticking with him. Maybe the picture starts to clear up Sat. If it's the same old same old I don't see how they can justify sticking with him.
  10. Taylor's 1st quarter performance should dictate when we see Peterman. My guess is before the half.
  11. Unless you're going to carry three QBs on the 53 this idea makes no sense. And if you do plan to carry three then find a replacement for yates who's better, not worse.
  12. Having Stevie back at 31 makes more sense than Boldin at 37 and the fan base anointed that move as the second coming. Whether Stevie can produce or not only gets answered on the field. And at vet minimum, why not?
  13. What fun it would be to have a decade of rust belt dominance from Buffalo, Cleveland, Chicago and Minnesota. Sub zero temps, ice and snow, and gale force winds. Old school football played by the new generation of young guns. Gotta love it.
  14. I would hope no true fan would wish for a tank. Trying to orchestrate something like that when you only control 1/32 of the moving pieces is a fool's errand. Whether they pick in the top 5 next year or not is no guarantee they get a franchise guy. The draft class for 2018 is only a bucket of wishful thinking and will stay that way till spring. McD gets three more weeks of player evaluation and then he'd better have found a way to win with what he has. The Dline looks solid, the back end is progressing with Gaines looking more comfortable, need help on the O line, Shady is Shady and Williams is serviceable, Clay is solid and O'Leary is a pleasant surprise, Jones looks like the real deal and O'Reilly, Shorts and Streater (I hope) will make it. There's enough here to win with. And there will be an opportunity to fill in the blanks on cut down day. And that just leaves the 800 pound gorilla in the room (I'll keep my opinion to myself on that one). A hand full of stars and a whole bunch of role players who show up when you need them will win you games.
  15. May the fleas of a thousand diseased camels invade your butt crack. Have a nice day, screw you very much.
  16. accuracy not there, seemed to get rattled, but O line a train wreck so need to see a lot more
  17. Depends a whole lot on who's throwing the ball. Mathews and Zay for sure Streater depending on injury Tate as KR The rest I need to see more of on Saturday to choose.
  18. Had to read all this crap out of morbid curiosity. Neither Beane no McD are idiots and it would take an idiot to pull some of the crap being speculated about in this thread. Unless you believe in dart board personnel management they seem to be doing the job they were hired to do, build a team. It was obvious to everyone Rex ruined a dominant 4-3 Defense. They addressed that. Our #1 WR couldn't stay on the field and was making money noise. They addressed that. Darby was a solid cover corner, but did poorly in zone schemes. They addressed that. It's obvious, for what ever reason, quarterback play is less than adequate. They give taylor a chance to elevate his game in a new scheme, bring in a high potential kid and secure ammo for the next draft if none of it works for taylor or Peterman. Situation addressed. Let's wait till the bye to crucify these guys. At least by they we'll have results and not conjecture to go on. Sorry for the rant.
  19. You're lucky most of the doom and gloomers are over on the Boldin thread railing against the machine, sharpening pitchforks and lighting torches. These moves are exactly what needed to be done, the only caveat being they never should have waited till rd 5 to take Peterman. I do think, however, the winning starts next year (barring a holywood type shocker) and 4 to 5 wins is probable.
