  1. Hope springs eternal. With each new thread that tries to explore fresh insights I hope to find us breaking new ground only to find we're just breaking the same old wind. I swear some folks are cut and pasting entire responses to other threads in an attempt to avoid carpal tunnel.
  2. Got blasted yesterday for saying pretty much the same thing. Glad to see I'm not as ignorant as I began to think I was. It's like the kid sees the whole field pre snap and processes in the time it takes to get the play off. You don't coach that up.
  3. Hell, we can just keep him as Peterman's backup. All our problems solved. That kind of situation always turns out well.
  4. McD is damning with faint praise
  5. I'm sure Taylor knows he's on a very short leash. Someone sat the kid down this morning and had a come to Jesus meeting. Probably too late to realistically get a trade done before game one but benching him is a real possibility.
  6. Whoa, hold on there, taylor's not even close to the worst. Maybe the worst long term backup to luck into a starting gig because we had an idiot for a coach who couldn't see his short comings (sorry for the pun) and shot himself in the foot but overall worst "starting QB" not a chance. (there ya go, TT I got yer back)
  7. Holy Poo Poo, the voice of reason!!!
  8. After game 1 he earned backup status, this week I think he deserves some time with the ones. Baby steps just yet, but the kid can move the team down the field and put up points. TT not so much (yet). If taylor doesn't improve I wouldn't want to be McD and try to explain why the kid sat while taylor bumbled his way through even 8 games.
  9. Agree with everything you say. Just be prepared for the oldtimers here to first check your number of posts and dismiss every word of it with a "noob" or two thrown in for good measure.
  10. They didn't play WITH the 1st string O either.
  11. Of the "success" there was last night, and with all three QBs playing, where did we see the most positives. Wasn't from taylor.
  12. If ownership and management are worried about revenue they need to take a lesson from the past. The Bills of the early 80's were awful but not only is this fan base vocal and vituperous they're also knowlegeable. They paid hard earned blue collar dollars to watch Levy and Polian build a winner. They recognized a franchise QB when they saw one and lived through the growing pains to get a winner. They paid for Smith and Talley and Loften jerseys as much as Kelly ones. I was there and saw it. Bills fans will pay to see the process not just the result. This ain't new england fairweather fans. Beane and McD aren't stupid, they know who they have to move on from as well as we do. They just need to get on with it.
  13. Droughts of Biblical proportions make even sane people jump off the deep end. We all want to see The Bills build a perennial winner (almost as much as we want to win every game this year no matter what it means for the future). Thank God we're not in charge. The hard cold fact is taylor has little trade value and Peterman isn't ready, so unless you are willing to let yates start the season we go with what we have.
  14. And it's already obvious Peterman makes that adjustment.
  15. Obvious Schwartz had an agenda. McD should have seen it coming. Sticking it to a former employer is not an uncommon thing. As a starter taylor didn't handle it well. With that kind of pressure there had to be people open he either couldn't find them or held the ball way too long. Peterman did OK but not great. By no means is this game mostly on taylor. but the alarming trend for him continues. I like taylor but I think he's hit his ceiling real hard.
  16. this whole thing may get real hard to watch
  17. If, and this is only an "if", the team is going to move on from taylor; how and when do you do it? I'm not saying they should or will, but I can think of no scenario that would end well for the 2017 season.
  18. Great idea!!! God knows a fresh perspective should always be dismissed out of hand.
  19. Don't think I said anything about Peterman. But now that you bring it up . . .
  20. We all want The Bills to win but blindly refusing to see a player for what they really are in the face of mounting evidence to the contrary is called obsession.
  21. Even though he's outplayed the starter in both games?
  22. The drive at he end of the half was what I wanted to see from the kid. Stays calm, sees the whole field, makes all the throws. At some point this year they'll hand him the keys.
  23. Much as I want to use tonight's disaster as further proof we need a change at QB and even though Peterman had a better game than taylor, the O line and stupid penalties far outshadowed QB play. Taylor's not the one who should be losing his job after this mess.
  24. careful, I said exactly this earlier today and got roasted for it.
