Playoff #1 Bills @ Texans PostGame Thread
Dr.Sack replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Allen 24/46 52% another Sub 60% game with a loss. If Allen hits Duke Williams maybe McDermott fries a 59 yard field goal. We had the ball at the Houston 42 that’s 59 yards. All we needed was to run the ball. I put this loss on McDermott who collapsed down the stretch after a 9-3 start we end up 10-7. Really disappointing but it’s hard to win with such an erratic QB. -

Let’s Go Bills -
As I mentioned earlier Sal Capaccio lives in the City of Buffalo, and this DB is saying he lives in the suburbs. He won’t even stand up for his city. Say what you want about Buffalo, but it is coming back from 50 years of deindustrialization. The city is attracting youth on a massive scale & urban shops are thriving. I love the fact this guy simply tossed Baltimore to the side and went personal against us. Typical talking head blow hard.

Lots of elite athletes have someone they trust to get them through possible mental barriers. If I were advising Josh Allen I’d tell him he needs to understand the game can’t be won in the 1st Qtr nor lost. He needs to read the defense & take what they are giving him. Getting the ball out on time, and trusting his eyes and instinct will work. Football also isn’t a one man game. If it were Aaron Rodgers would have as many Super Bowl titles as Tom Brady. There is a good article about the 10,000 hour rule. Meaning the difference between a great talent and an amateur is 10,000 hours of practice. Allen is in year 2 of his professional development not counting the moment he walked out of high school in 2014. We all know Allen’s story to college then the NFL. Every step of the way Allen has been counted out. The detractors are vast and no doubt will be out in full force if he stumbles Saturday no matter how well he performs. These are the same talking heads who say the Bills schedule was soft and when we win it’s often in-spite of Allen’s play. Allen was chosen because our FO believes in him as a leader. He wants to reward that faith by perhaps playing too perfect and at times conservative. Come the playoffs it’s more about preparation and execution and the will to win. Sure there are a ton of variables out of Allen’s control, line play, running game, pass protection, but a good leader can instill confidence and accountability in his teammates.

Potential Bills WR scouting heaven in the Citrus Bowl today

Elite punt returners are found in the draft. The top 2 all time are 5th rounders. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/leaders/punt_ret_yds_career.htm -
Tre gonna change his name to Pick Six White.

Best play.....meaning most memorable or meaningful? memorable: Lindell’s kick in 2011 to end the losing streak to the Pats. meaningful - Allen leaping over Barr in 2018 announcing his arrival to the NFL. -

Having a great punt returner can be huge. Add 2-3 punt return TDs and we could have a division title. -

I think we need a freak TE & WR along with a great slot WR who can be a return guy. -

My thoughts are the tape don’t lie, and many of White’s yards against happen when we are letting teams complete underneath passes against soft zones. -

Appreciate this team and season
Dr.Sack replied to The Red King's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I thought we’d go 11-5, and probably would have if Sunday meant anything. That out of the way, this season comes down to the Playoffs, Winning a Playoff Game & creating some havoc. We haven’t officially arrived until we win a playoff game. Winning on the road against a great offense & improving defense that is well coached won’t be easy. We have a punchers chance & Allen has proven he can play clean games. If he can keep his completion percentage up around 60% or higher & our lines dominate I believe we will win. So to recap I appreciate all that has been accomplished but I’m not satisfied with just making it to the dance. I want to bang the prom queen. -
Lots of talent in the middle to late rounds of the 2020 draft.

Bills at Texans Playoff Game, Saturday 4:35 pm
Dr.Sack replied to wppete's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hence why some gadget plays & trickery could work Saturday. Allen is big enough to run routes and do his best Nick Foles impersonation. I like our chances if we dominate both lines of scrimmage & hit the Texans with some trickery. Abandoning the punt would also be a good idea as I believe we will need to get into lots of 3rd & 4th & shorts to win. Dominating from the onset & playing aggressive will likely be the best path to victory. -
McDaniel’s drafted Tebow.
