Wrong. Tyler Bass career 12/17 playoff FGs is the heart of this team. Luckily for us Bass is on pace to have a lower playoff field goal % than Scott Norwood (13/18).
Assuming we draft a WR in the first or second round, I still think we draft one more WR.
I’m curious TBD thoughts on mid-rounders WRs. WRs I like the most in that spot are; Jacob Cowing, Jalen Coker, Jermaine Burton. Lots of Js to keep track of.
Josh is about to turn the same age Jim Kelly was in 1988, but that’s with a considerable higher odometer reading. I think it comes down to two key factors; having the will, and being healthy.
Draft a K and actually give him a shot at earning the job. Bass appeared to lose it this year, and the leg looks shot. Not a surprise considering he’s 27 and a smaller guy who has to put everything he has to create the power a bigger stronger legged kicker can create. In soccer Bass is the size of a small midfielder. Look at the good kickers, they are the size of the biggest soccer players 6’ + with much stronger legs.
2020 - bad defense
2021 - bad defense
2022 - bad defense and offense
2023 - injuries on defense leading to bad defense, not enough at WR, unreliable kicker.
If McDermott had Milano, Bernard and a healthy Douglas I think he has a shot to win the game with that game plan. The defense and special teams were not playoff caliber.
