  1. Those are the right words. We all know he wants this one bad, but he’s taking the objective approach.
  2. I’m going to go out on a limb and predict the Cowboys take it at 7-9. They will host a playoff game but won’t have Beast Mode to bail them out.
  3. Darnold will be the Marino to Allen’s Kelly. Darnold will be a good QB.
  4. Just Make Your Kicks & then you can train Carli Lloyd to be your replacement.
  5. Here is how the Bills take down the Ravens. Mother nature won't be on our side as game time temps will be around 41-44F, and the wind is expected to be around 15mph coming from the south with only a 10% chance of precipitation. This won't be a rain soaked nor'easter game Baltimore played last week which helped slow the Ravens fast-pace run heavy offense. Counting his playoff game Lamar is 12-0 we he rushes over 70 yards. Lamar is 4-4 when he rushed 69 yards or less. Lamar is 6-4 when he attempts 24 or more passes. Lamar is 10-0 when he attempts 23 or less passes. Josh Allen is 11-0 as a starter when his completion percentage is 60% or higher. Josh Allen is 3-10 when his completion percentage dips below 60%. Josh Allen is 10-3 as a starter he scores a rushing TD, 4-7 when he doesn't. Josh Allen is 13-4 when he passes for a TD, 1-6 when he doesn't. If I'm McDermott I commit all resources to stopping the Ravens running attack. Make sure Jackson and Ingram are shut down. Hit them, and swarm to the ball. This is what Belichick told the Giants defense before Super Bowl XXV; "We win if Thurman runs for over 100 yards." The idea being he wanted to invite the Bills to run slowing down the K-Gun no-huddle offense. Belichick deployed a 3 man front with as many as 8 defense backs to frustrate and slow our offense. The Bills must use the same philosophy this week, except with the idea, "we win if we force Jackson to pass 24 or more times". The Bills will need to crowd the line of scrimmage and put their corners on an island daring Jackson to pass in what hopefully is a swirling wind. The first team to stop Jackson was the Chargers in their playoff matchup last season. They deployed a 7 defensive back strategy to confuse the Ravens and have the speed to track Jackson. The Ravens have developed counters to this using large 3 TE sets, and a heavy dose running to get teams out of this defensive alignment. The Ravens loaded up on TEs and deploy a lot of play action - with their TEs feigning run blocks and slipping out to the 2nd level unguarded. Our D saw this last week on Witten's redzone TD grab. The tactics to counter this is simply man play recognition, and using more d-linemen set wide to swarm into the TEs to make them commit to blocking. This will look a lot like the Bears 46-defense - 8 men in the box, mixing in bigger personnel aligned in new fronts to crowd the line of scrimmage. Old school offense will meet old school defense this week. We have a running game machine coming to town. 208 yards per game on average. Looking at the Ravens two losses to Cleveland and Kansas City they kept close in the running game metric. The best blue print though was in how Pittsburgh handled the Ravens in a close 23-26 OT loss. Interestingly had the Steelers pulled off this upset it would have dropped the Ravens to 2-3 on the season and handed them their 3rd consecutive loss. The Steelers limited the Ravens to less total offensive yards on a better weather day than the vaunted 49ers defense, albeit the Steelers were at home. For our offense it's simple. Run an efficient offense, stay committed to the run, and take advantage of Ravens rush defense. We win if Allen plays an efficient game 60% completion percentage, and gets us into the end zone and doesn't turn this in a FG battle, where we know Tucker is miles ahead of House Money. McDermott has to show a willingness to go for it on 4th down and not fear giving the Ravens a short field. The ultimate goal is keeping the Ravens out of the end zone and keeping their offense off the field which will result in more Jackson passes.
  6. I personally see Brady retiring. 43? Seriously? He just looks faded at this point. If he decides to play and leaves NE he could make it personal & go to Miami just so he can try to take out Belichick two times a year to prove he’s boss. The issue with that is: Brady is smarter than he acts on the field after a failed drive, he wouldn’t want to risk his legacy by hitching his wagon to Miami. Brady’s best landing spot if he plays would be Denver. Great climate, less gravity & a team that is historically tough to beat a mile high. I’m not one who is too big into nostalgia, and I don’t think Brady is much either. Similar to Manning’s swan song, I could see Brady coming to Denver and keeping it together for a season or two. The question is why play? Is he playing just to play and he loves the game? Or is he playing for a title? If the answer is a title, I don’t see Denver as a landing spot. It’s possible Brady will wait for events to transpire; Big Ben or Eli move on, Frank Reich comes calling, or something random happens like Jon Gruden making Brady an offer he can’t refuse. The QB guru & the GOAT in Vegas. What could go wrong?
  7. Baltimore can be beaten and we should have our old friend Mother Nature to help neutralize the Ravens offense. That said, with 17mph sustained winds I look at the kicking game & worry about House Money’s woes. Nothing worse than to battle the Ravens and lose because our kicker doesn’t perform at Tucker’s level. Perhaps this is one of the holes they address in the off-season? Bringing in the best K in the draft.
  8. Bills need to win every game finish 13-3 and let the chips fall where they may. Wouldn’t been a bad thing finishing 13-3 as the #5 WC team. I guarantee whoever we get will be scared like a mofo.
  9. Take it week by week, the number one objective being winning the game.
  10. Tannehill is a good QB. He is accurate and doesn’t turn the ball over much. He doesn’t dominate the game, but he won’t lose many games via turnovers. It’s much the same formula we used the first 9 games. That said when the team needs big plays & big throws Tannehill can do that but hasn’t done so consistently where he scares you. Is that good enough to win the AFC South? Sure. Is it good enough to beat the Ravens or Patriots? Maybe one of them, but I don’t see him pulling a Nick Foles & running the table. I believe the Titans will be the #6 Wild Card team & the Colts or Texans win the division.
  11. Every year the salary cap goes up, and we continue to find value via the draft & bringing in quality veterans. The #1 goal is winning. I believe Beane & Co. are correct in their idea that you accumulate draft capital, nail your draft picks, and find team first veterans who want to compete. This team is stacked with those guys. The process is working. Let’s keep it rolling.
  12. You win by taking away the ball & controlling the clock. Jackson isn’t the most accurate QB & with the typical December bad weather; wind, rain, snow, gale force winds, this game will be won in the trenches. Jackson still will be the fastest player but I believe the formula is out there. Invite the Ravens to run in the middle stack players on the OTs and give up the interior. Thinks Star on an island. The Ravens won’t be able to get the edge, and as soon as the ball is snapped the lanes collapse on Jackson / Ingram. Disguising overloads blitzes won’t work. You need to hit them hard and keep hitting them. On offense same thing. This is a game we win if Singletary, Gore & Allen run wild.
  13. If Allen keeps spreading the love around and we get one or two Knox stiff arms, a Mackenzie sweep & catch / some Mackenzie wildcat, a Kroft seam catch, a Foster deep shot, and overall great checkdowns to the backs, I’m all for complimentary players easing the pressure off Beasley & Brown to produce. To me the growth of the offense is in incorporating the other guys in a timely and effective way.
  14. I don’t like prime time games. As a west coaster I’m stuck in traffic and don’t get home until halfway through the 1st Qtr on Monday & Thursday nights.
  15. Let’s take the attitude and do the same the next 7 or 8 games. 16-3/17-3.
  16. I love how we won’t be favored in each of the next 3 games. Let’s let our play do our talking.
  17. The Ravens are next. Gonna be a hard battle to win and can’t wait to see our guys on a well deserved 10 days of rest battle those birds & find a way to put the vex on Jackson.
  18. Large market team ✔️ Big money on them ✔️ NFL officials are bought ✔️ Result? No calls. Gotta beat them by dominating.
