Is anybody else having anxiety about game one?
boater replied to billsredneck1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No nerves here. The VA gave me these pills and now it's all happy happy. Even scary clowns don't bother me. I like to kick'em in the balls. -
Congrats SDS! Who knew SDS was on the forefront of countering those pesky Russians in the Black Sea, or those sneaky Chinese in the Spratly Islands.

Pre season games are going nowhere.
boater replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
OK. Delete preseason and make a 18 game regular season. Works from a revenue perspective. Clubs will have to arrange their own August joint practices and scrimmages. But what happens if you're the loser kid on the block and no one wants to play with you? You're screwed. -
Heh, when you name a blowout, it has to be good. 1. My all-time blowout is legend in the family known as "The Rehoboth Beach Incident" 2. Coming in a close second is the Great Norovirus Blowout of 2005. ....that said, I'm sure the Popeyes sandwich is respectable--but it looks too crispy. If I want a fried breading sandwich, that is what I'll order. CFA es #1.

Two and two would be just dandy to me.. as long as there are zero major injuries and zero interceptions. It's all about the injuries.

The positive vibes at TSW have been flowing all summer; today in particular. This makes me nervous. It's before noon--too early for a beer to calm my nerves? I don't think it was meant to be bad. I think it's a nod to the fact that JA is kind of a big baby Hughey. He has an innocence and cheerfulness about him.

Can Christian Wade be the 53 man roster this year
boater replied to FLBillsGuy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Could Wade make the 2020 53-man roster? Yes. If one thing happens--he needs to fit in seemlessly to special teams and make a contribution there. When McDermott judges a player on the bubble, he uses their special teams contribution as a tie breaker. I wonder if Wade could return kicks... he's a definite wrecking ball. -
Panthers DE Bryan Cox, Jr. in trouble

Props to SDS. I remember the days on a shared server that crashed often and was a bandwidth bottleneck. It's come a long way. But lets not forget the general population of posters --- their peer pressure keeps community standards high. You make a duplicate post, all suddenly you're under a dog pile The moderators deserve some credit as well.

Reading everyone's woes, seems they can be solved by one of three options: 1. Having a Granny in Buffalo. Install a Slingbox in her house. 2. NFL DTV streaming.. using a VPN to disguise your location. 3. Move to WNY. That's a bit hardcore, but it worked form me.

Just a thought on maybe why your antenna TV didn't work.. If the over the air antenna is not omnidirectional -- you have to carefully aim it at the transmitter site. You can find out where the transmitter is using several websites.

Cover 1 Denied Press Credentials by Bills PR Staff
boater replied to Phil The Thrill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
To summarize the situation: Cover-1 appropriately uses "fair use" However, their comprehensiveness of total games Cover-1 comes close to inappropriate but doesn't cross the line The NFL (via the Bills organization) feels hinky about the situation and don't want to grant Cover-1 further access (via formal creds), which is totally their right to deny I'll take another Mich Ultra.. I know light beer sucks, but I'm fighting a battle of the bulge. -
Carl Paladino: Put new stadium in Cobblestone district
boater replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Truth. You just know when they break ground the first day they'll find Native American remains--and the whole project will be called off. Or some endangered owl will be discovered nesting. Or some neckbearded preservationists will file an injunction. -
C'mon Daboll! We all need a role model. You go girl. I want to lose 20 pounds before the Bills make their 2019 playoff appearance. Lead us to the promised land!

Ravens having trouble selling tickets to opener
boater replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Contrast that to New Era. That's what makes the partially sunken New Era such an architectural masterpiece. The hike to the upper decks is negligible. The hike from any seats to concessions is minimal. -

Ravens = Moribund local economy. Downtown palace stadium. PSLs. Any lesson here for WNY and Bills fans? Buehler? Buehler? -
Yep! I cook steaks almost exactly to this method. They come out steakhouse great. I use a digital meat thermometer also. I used to have the internal temps written down for rare, medium rare, and medium, but I've lost that over the years. Note: "Letting that mutha rest" for 15 minutes after baking is an absolute necessity that many people gloss over in haste. If you cut that steak without resting it, it's juices spill out all over the plate. The resting process drives the juices back toward the center of the cut--it's also a good time to prep the sides.

Jerry Seinfeld's clockwise swirl has the be signature move of all time. David Puddy thought the move un-original. The move was so complex, George Costanza needed a cheat sheet.

July is a difficult month for TSW. Possibly the worst. Mostly posts talking about something already beaten to death. But a very early mock draft takes the cake. C'mon August. Especially c'mon September.

Welp - I'm off the Josh Allen bandwagon
boater replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He broke Operational Security by naming his pet peeve. Now the opposition is going to play the sounds of a vacuum cleaner. -
I remember it as well. The Metro and VRE shutdown, stranding thousands of people. Every single restaurant in the neighbor shutdown, except one: Chick-Fil-A.

There is some, but not enough discussion here about cost. I notice many of the "roof" voters reside outside Erie County. It's always fun to have an open wallet with OPM (other people's money). But when it's your own wallet being raided to pay for the stadium, you a become a little more circumspect about what features come along and how much they cost. Don't be naive. Don't fool yourself--if you live in Erie County, one way or another the stadium cost is being passed on to you. There aren't rich guys with sacks of cash, or government slush funds to defray from the cost. There's no magical accountant tricks. And cost isn't going to be a drop in the bucket. It will be something that will impact your budget (unless you're on welfare or a refugee). A 20 year construction bond on a 1.5 billion stadium will have a 9 million monthly payment. Every man, woman and child in the county will pay $116 per year in increased taxes. No small change if you're a family of five. I'm not opting for a roof without some argument for it's return on investment. Would it lead to other events, such as winter concerts? PS: Lucas Oil Field at $750 mil a couple years ago has been proposed as a benchmark. No way that happens in WNY. Too much graft and corruption.
