  1. Pfftt.. increased salary cap means zilch, zip, nada, because all 32 teams get the same increase.
  2. I ate liquid lunch when I worked for the government. May be the case here.
  3. No, COVID death rate has declined bigly, per the article I linked. You might be confusing death rate with cases.
  4. Financially, Josh Allen is a salary cap bargain compared to other starting QBs. That alone increases his value. A salary cap strapped team would give a first to sign him. Unpopular prediction: Josh plays 5 mediocre years in Buffalo, then moves on.
  5. She owns the team. Get over your class envy and warfare and accept that. There's reasons why Buffalo lags economically. Class warfare is top of the list.
  6. These high expectations and potential knee jerk reactions are just what I'm worried about. Despite all the hoopla, NE won't suck as much as people expect. They still have a stout defense and still have the football jedi-master coach in charge. We'll go 1-1 against NE. And contrary to many TSW posters, I consider the 2020 schedule to be tough. The Bills may clear the board, hopefully. Or they may come in second. But in either case... any major retooling would be premature and counter productive.
  7. Never. When I worked in govt the Admin Assistants had a gig going... they would talk race with you over a period of time, lull you into a sense of trust. Then WHAM one day you talk race like you had safely before, and all the sudden they're deeply offended. They file an EEO complaint and disclose that they can be "made whole" by a payment in the 6 figure range.
  8. Breaking news ------- if you're a NY, CT, NJ resident ------ you'll have to quarantine in NY for 2 weeks when you get back from NC N.Y. Will Impose Quarantine on Visitors From States With Big Outbreaks
  9. Yes, rare for an athlete. My doc says genetics play a large role. Some could eat celery sticks 24/7 and still suffer heart disease. Apparently O'Leary falls in that group. Also, those of Irish descent appear more susceptible to heart disease. The good news: if caught early, statin drugs are effective. Heart treatment is amazing these days. O'Leary back in 2021 is not unreasonable.
  10. COVID is declining nation wide, not rising. Yes, there are some hot spots like FL and AZ. Daily COVID-19 Deaths in the U.S. Have Fallen Dramatically Since April
  11. COVID may have saved us from ourselves.. in regard to the build downtown or renovate New Era decision. Taxpayers Still on the Hook for Stadium Debts, Even Though Coronavirus Canceled Sports
  12. And sold Sabres = Sabres moving out of town. Just watch.
  13. Truth. It's going to be a tooth and nail fight to win the division. Fasten your seatbelts and pass the TUMS.
  14. Notice it's considering. Let's hope it's posturing by some lawyer in the MLB legal department to mitigate future risk. Worse case scenario would be a player dies of the Chinese Virus, then MLB can say "we gave closing camp due consideration."
  15. Losing a Restricted Free Agent (Lawrence Pilut) to the commies was probably the last straw.
  16. Bill Belichick teams are a "No Drama Zone" ..he would have no tolerance for the side show that Kap would bring Been out of football for 4 years. Was never very good anyway. He's not sincerely looking for an NFL job.
  17. There are 32 teams, and about 15 franchise quarterbacks. That sizable gap is going to lead all kinds of head scratching situations. It's not that there is a tolerance for mediocrity. It's that most teams simply don't have any better options.
  18. Don't be so naive. Press conference with the Erie County DA showed the 5 of 9 arrests were out of towners. Fact.
  19. Praying for no injuries. That would be awful.
  20. I could be wrong -- but I'm pretty certain club involvement in off-season practices where players voluntarily get together is strictly forbidden by the collective bargaining agreement with the NFLPA. I mean like seriously forbidden. Like losing draft picks forbidden.
  21. I've been to five games in OP. Bills are undefeated in games I attended, though that was during the Superbowl run in the 1990s.
  22. If you mega-pay a player (Allen in this hypothetical), and also overpay 2or 3 players you end up in salary cap jail. Jailed teams are less competitive. Rookie contracts are very salary cap friendly. That's why the draft is so critical to success. A good draft gives you financial flexibility to pick up assets in free agency. To the OP: my opinion is that in 2022 if Josh Allen is lighting up the league, back up the Brinks truck to his house.
  23. You're right, this won't continue long. We're only in this cap position because our franchise QB is cheap--and that contract ends in a couple years. You're right (number 2) WE DESERVE IT
