  1. I obviously have no idea what happened here, and I’m glad I don’t have to sort it out. It certainly looks bad. I’m actually posting because this sounds eerily similar to something that happened to one of my buddies sons. He WAS racing on I-75, and there were people around. People saw them racing and he admitted it. His driving was at least partially responsible for a family of four going into the median and rolling their SUV in a horrific accident. Nobody died, but serious injuries resulting in multiple surgeries and years of physical therapy and recovery. It was looking quite grim, for good reason. BUT, at the time of the accident his buddy had gotten off the highway and he was no longer racing. He was just a lousy teen driver. This was confirmed by several witnesses, including an off duty cop. It saved his ass. Causing an accident is horrible. Doing it while racing is that times a billion. Like all similarly awful situations, I’ll try to wait for things to play out before forming an opinion. It might be just what most people probably imagine, but we don’t know for sure. Side note: It’s unforeseen stuff like this why it’s wise to at least look into a good umbrella policy. Your car insurance has limits, and you might be up the creek. Worth looking into. .
  2. It’s ESPN and they are mostly idiots??? .
  3. What a terrific idea! Let’s take a page out of the Brown’s playbook. It’s worked wonders for them!!! 😋 At least by using the same basic framework with some appropriate (and necessary) tweaks we can remain in the running every year. Starting over is what the Browns do. Even if you get lucky the first or second (or 5th) time, the transition is still difficult, and could be the easiest way to waste a chunk of Josh’s prime years. Change does not guarantee success. In fact, the odds are against you.
  4. That is absolutely ridiculous, but I guess it tells us something. Maybe we should give Rex another shot.
  5. I hope you’re OK, but that brings up a pet peeve. Yes, everybody needs to look out for people on motorcycles, including the people on motorcycles. The bumper stickers annoy me as some clown is weaving across lanes at 80 mph. Mini-rant over. .
  6. WHAT? If you do something wrong, you pay the price regardless of age or financial status. He was saying 16 year olds shouldn’t drive, and 18 year olds shouldn’t have expensive sports cars. What if they earned it? Who should tell them how they can spend it? He didn’t think paying these football players was a good idea, but in other sports they can have enormous contracts. The best 18 year old golfer or tennis can make millions without any questions. .
  7. Nobody knows the bold better than I do, but what exactly are you going to do about it. Enact a new law? If they have the money, and are of legal age, there is nothing you can do about it. Other than tell them to get off your lawn, I suppose.
  8. What if he’s a golf or tennis prodigy? Or a software savant? If they are 18 what is to be done about it?
  9. Funny you say that! I probably just had my permit at the time, and the head of traffic for Amherst told my class they will never pull you over for less than 10 over. In 30 some years he’d only seen it twice, and both times they just wanted to pull them over for any old reason. Is that wise to tell a bunch of 16 year old kids? I was a bit over 75, and it was a bit under 65. But it was wide, empty streets with 5 lanes. That’s all you’ll get out of me!
  10. I did hear that earlier today. In college we could get MASH up to 5 times a day when a new episode came out. There was very little time available to attend class with that busy schedule! Your dad had great taste!
  11. Heck, the Browns might even trade up to get him now. 😋 I drove stupidly fast to keep up with a friend on a straight empty road once in my life. It was one time too many (and it was nowhere near those speeds). I was a passenger with two different guys who took off like that hitting about 100 while I protested. One I literally never got in a car with again, and the other it was years before I’d let him drive again. It’s a stupid thing to do, so I had to find different stupid things to do. Things with lesser potential consequences.
  12. Who is that? It’s OK, you can name names. Don’t put me on there. I’m on record as wanting a Super Bowl victory (not just an appearance), and preferring 13-3 and losing in the playoffs over missing the playoffs completely. It’s not an either/or thing. It’s not that simple. There is a spectrum of happiness.
  13. Unless they don’t cover the spread. It’s hard to celebrate properly unless they cover the spread. Some of “us” are very needy.
  14. He’s the fireman who brings kerosene to the party! Always a good time!
  15. I didn’t do that at all. Pay attention. I was talking about last season, while you refer to 4 seasons where we didn’t win the Super Bowl. Guess what! Only one team can win the SB each year. I can live with a 13-3 season because I’m a grown up.
  16. I’m not a local, so I have no say. Do you vote? Maybe you are just a minority?
  17. I have heard for years about the Bills outreach to fans for opinion. I know people who have been on panels and attended these events. The public has had a say in this forever. You just don’t like the answer, so you persist. What was your dream? A dome downtown? (Probably my preference.) Well, it’s not happening. I don’t care if you ever want to get on board, but it’s not going to change because anybody was whining.
  18. I’m not blurriesed, but I like 13-3 seasons, with two freaky losses. 😋 .
  19. If it’s not too forward of me, I’d like to throw my name into the hat. I can take it! 😋
  20. Do you realize how far you are taking this? You’re upset, fine. How many school board meetings have you attended to weigh in on improvements and lab equipment? Or is just easier to complain about a stadium on a message board?
  21. For just a little bit more you can get an ice bath with the player of your choice and Mr Kraft if you have the special offer code.
  22. How much extra do I have to pay to sit in “The Element Zone”?
  23. It’s the track suits that confuse people. I think….. I trust Gabe more than most people, much like I felt about Knox. I look forward to him staying healthy and stepping up next season. Work hard and FOCUS. I feel pretty good about that, and I still want more serious talent at the position.
  24. You lucky bastard! 😂 I’ve gone into a daze on my way to a destination. But I always went to where I was going. I think that is an important distinction here. @Royale with Cheese went randomly WAY out of his area, with no idea why. That’s very different, to me, than being forgetting the last few minutes of a boring drive. (Aliens has already been mentioned, so there’s that.) Funny story, when we lived in Hilton Head, SC I also worked in nearby Beaufort. We could hear the band from Paris Island, but unless you had a boat it was 45 minutes driving thru woods and marshes. Heading home one night I’m almost in one of those “states” when the car well in front of me suddenly swerves! YIKES! WHAT HAPPENED? She gets it back under control and I realize she just dodged a 10 foot alligator crossing the two lane road with marsh and water on both sides. It’s as wide as both lanes and it gets dicey on the shoulder! OH %$#^! Now I have to avoid it! I survived, and the thought of the face on the young lady who was driving behind me still makes me chuckle!
  25. And nobody died, so there was that too! 😋
