Ive seen enough people lobbying for a TE early in the draft, why? We've shown it to be a low priority position for 20 years. For 10 of it, the position has been very overdrafted by the league as a whole. Its a hard position to project how a player will handle the jump, even ones taken very early. Theyre molasses slow to develop. A 1k yard TE is an absolute unicorn sighting of an appearance. Theres a bunch of 1k WRs every year. First downs? Emphasize the slot. Elite TE's in the redzone are very special, no denying that. However, when you consider the miss rate on TEs, it seems like an astronomical price to pay for a position for that leads to less yards, higher bust rates, lower benefits of the rookie contracts with the steep learning curve of years 1 & 2. Im open to being wrong (I expect to get blasted here and Im open to it), I understand the versatility provided leads to less tipping off your plays by personnel. If I want yards & TDs, 1st downs, I want a WR. If i want blocking gimme an OL or a lower round blocking TE. The TD's are less clear cut in making up, but if you cant make them up by scheming them to your WRs and passing to your backs, are you going to be able to scheme them open for a TE? Im not saying Id never draft a TE, but Id be more than OK never drafting one rounds 1-3, and paying a premium in free agency. Let someone else draft them high, take on the bust risk and get them up to speed. I'll have my FA dollars ready if it's an absolute must have

Whenever I used a magic 8-ball, I just woke up with an empty wallet, weird smells, and an unfamiliar car with a broken window in my driveway. It was a different time back in 2020 -

Lil dirty update - McKenzie released

https://www.foxsports.com/nfl/deonte-harris-player-injuries While technically true, its more nuanced then that. His first trip to IR was on December 19, 2020th for a neck stinger, not exactly a recurring injury risk. 2019 he was ruled out for 2 games due to a hamstring. Was ruled out again for 1 game 2021 for a hammy. Last year sent him to IR w/ turf toe w/ week 5 injury. If operated on (it was) its not considered to be a major re-injury risk. if you want to argue he's too small to hold up through an NFL season that's one thing, but the history is pretty far from being problematic, and unlikely any of these injuries had anything to do with his size. He's an unproven guy with nice upside, and a skill that cant be taught, that several teams were trying to sign. He chose to sign here for less, on a contract we can get out of easily after this year if we don't like it. Sounds like a player willing to work and that's betting on himself. McK has absolutely proven what he is. I like his odds of beating a 400 yard season. Similar floor to mck, much higher ceiling. Can we let the dude play a game before we all decide he's trash and a dumb signing lol -

He is... To work his bbq stand full time lol im calling it now, hes this years Feliciano in that he'll air out some sour grapes stuff publicly. i didnt care for his live interview/show at the bar last offseason, but chalked it up to some fair frustration. then i heard a very credible story on how he treats regular people (not even a fan, cause I know we've been rough on him at times), and cant say i buy into the silly guy schtick. im sure theres plenty of that around the league, but cant say im a fan of the guy. fully expect some more sour grapes from him within the next few weeks -
I thought that too, but why in the heck are WRs fine. were not talking an isolated incident either, how many starting receivers are outta the league by 27 by comparison? None lol id be curious to see a study of 40 times across a career for receivers and backs. i get theyre diff positions, but that different? weird

with the quality of backs weve seen sign for $3m we can do better, or he can lower his ask absolutely insane how much backs value has deteriorated. Beanie Babies hold their value better. SERIOUS QUESTION - wtf happened to backs that their careers are basically toast by 26-27???? Look at the backs of 90s- early 2000s. They were getting infinite more carries, everyone was THE workhorse, and they plaid till 30+ at high levels. Why is this happening? Anyone have some theories they like?
-
Yes, as we shouldve done the last 3 years in a row. He played for like $4m last year. Also, Justin Houston feels like the same player, and he was like $3m highly skeptical, but if theres any truth to it at all, HASSSSS to be Josh Jacobs right? Who else is even remotely possible? Dont think its Henry

The team that wins - on paper - you're right. The teams who actually end up winning FA are the teams that add a few of the correct lowkey underrated pieces, that allows them to draft closer to the BPA/Need model. Beasley, Jon Brown, Poyer, Hyde, Daquan Jones, theeeeeeeese are the types of moves that keep the big dogs on top. Not the team that blows their load on a bunch of Louis Vitton FAs.

Not necessarily a question directed at you (unless you can). This was on his scout report: — Comes downhill in a hurry to fill his gap on the front side of gap runs. Takes good angles in pursuit against stretch runs or outside zone. What does the bolded mean by "front side" of gap? I understand -fill the gap- but where is the front side?

I understand the skepticism. It was obvious he'd be red shirting here, as no role for him, and absolutely needed to tack on size. That first NFL offseason with a S&C coach, nutritionists on hand, state of art facilities. The biggest jump athletes see in size/strength is that first NFL offseason. Itll never be replicated, basically newbie gains. I see traits of speed, decisiveness, explosion on blitz, all reports of a cerebral player. In games I saw a guy doing too much thinking, itll slow down for him. Hopefully dudes lifting his ass off and eating everything that isnt bolted to the floor. Not gunna lie, Im excited to see him. I def expect growing pains, but hoping they cut him loose and let him blitz some. That kinda thing is great for players confidence, and fun to turn the brain off and pin the ears back. Could def see a bunch of TFL's and pressures at the least. Obv, this is all just my opinion, feel free to drag me lol

What’s your offer for WR Jerry Jeudy?

https://www.nfl.com/prospects/dawand-jones/32004a4f-4e23-2777-93b6-b85cf0fe618b Admittedly I dunno much about him other than RT and hes enormous, but his scouting report makes him sound like Dollar Tree Brown. Good faith question here, do you disagree with this scouting report? -

They really are on a great path, it wouldve been so smart to sign Carr, draft OL heavy, heck possibly even take a flyer on a qb. Or skip carr, put together a package and go get a guy you like in this draft. The fact theyre ready to yank the e-brake at the first shiny object they see, and venture off that path just assures the Jets will always be the Jets until they get a new owner.
