my bad, im thinking 2021 lol was the year the Colts beat us senseless on Thanksgiving (they ended up barely missing playoffs and there was a lot of relief around here) none of those teams were phenomenal. but thats the key, they were heavily flawed teams that ran the ball extremely well. you looked at their qb's and wr's and knew those guys werent going to kill you, but their run games were the type of 7th seed that could knock someone out. their run game was a MISMATCH for the new types of LB'ers S's and even a lot of these pass rush specialist IDL. a wrench in the cog of teams built to beat all the other top teams built the polar opposite. so yes, i absolutely look forward to this team taking a Minors Degree in smashmouth run game. another tool in the bag

Yep. Not saying nobody else did call it, but I said it last year pre draft. RB's and run game are coming back around as more relevant. 5 years of these smaller LBers being asked to cover routes more than ever, and playing in the run game was just a bonus to teams (sounds backwards for a LB). Outta that we saw teams in 2022 (edit: not 2022, but 2021*) like colts, browns, tenn, ne, all bringing a tough running game out. Those teams had conceded they don't have top notch qb play, we g2 change up our attack at what we CAN do, that other teams DONT do well. First round comes around and save for NE, those were all the teams that nobody wanted to draw round 1. They didn't fit the mould and it made them a dangerous 1st rd draw. Fast forward few more years of the light LBer and S era, we've built a solid pass block team with some nasties up front that specialize in run game. Everything in this league is in cycles and I think we're in great shape. Josh is Josh and he's got weapons set to improve, but giving him a nice run game (no we're not run first 🙄) is going to pay dividends!

I'm a die hard bills fan, but consider myself a football fan first. Love the game, even if we left buffalo, after much inner turmoil I'd keep watching nfl So on that front yes, absolutely. He's played a heel well. Loved watching him play in NFC, let his hair down. He's even kinda funny. And while I'm at it... belichek was ELECTRIC on pat McAfee draft extravaganza. Hope both these guys become in game commentators, that'd be amazing for the sport. Romo was, welllllll Romo during hid playing days, and his early commentating career was an absolute game changer.... now imagine what Brady and Beli can bring. I'm here for it!!!

the best party about the small hump up is that it allows BPA and position of need to align, thats good business in my book. they make their big board and stick to it.... if you see a big talent gap dropoff on whos going to be available, you sacrifice to go get him..... BPA, need, and avoiding reaching/overdrafting in your original draft position

were worried that the strategy would then be winning with the offense? we have the #2 QB in the nfl, one whos never had a fully dynamic offense around him like weve seen Mahomes have some years (not this year) its 2024 where the NFL as a whole is driven by offense adding a nasty WR to Josh is not 1 + 1 = 2 theres a synergy where the goal, if trading up, is 1 + 1 = 10 offense is at a rules advantage versus the defense league wide. this is the strategy we SHOULD be feeding into. not all the resources should go to the offense, but your top resources should

Yeah I mean this in reality is the least notable thing ever. a GM not doing this with every other GM would be notable. even a team in a spot you dont think you would want to move to, you still should be touching base with all 31 others 'hey would you even consider moving from where you are? ---no- ok thanks, got anyone else youre looking to move on your roster, even depth guy? ---yes? i know its a situational decision, but whats ballpark youd be looking for? bare bones, this is literally their job. theres what, 10mins between picks? 32 teams, each team has like 10 ppl in draft room. GMs, HCs, their assistants, an owner... a million moving parts, these guys should all have some type of rough idea of a bare bones starting point of a negotiation. on top of that, theyre job is to relationship build.... touch base, be friendly, likable. you cant be a GM with multiple sour relationships in the league, and its advantageous as hell to have good comfortable working relationships, because maybe that team will call you first when something juicy pops up. 'hey call beane, we got a short window and maybe only time for 1 call to get this done, hes fair, easy to work with, decisive....'

i think the bigger concern, and it could be smoke screen, is that he sucks at taking care of it. doesnt check it enough, diet concerns, and that they believe its directly caused him to be difficult to work with at times...... ^^^thats the rumor anyway. the 'difficult to work with' thing was kinda vague though..... did they mean, 1)he gets HANGRY'ish and becomes a jerk bc his sugars low and he doesnt know. orrrrrrrrr 2) the team tried to get him to eat better/check more frequently, and hes stubborn and is just going to do it his way/unapproachable about the topic if that rumor is true, then i get the concern. i had a type1 diabetic roommate at 18, dude drank booze and regular Redbull, and ate BS constantly..... i had to call 911 for him several times bc he was just dumb about it. hed mix up his medications. there was insulin, and something else hed only take in the morning, was supposed to help keep him in a tighter range in between insulin shots. dude woke up one day, hadnt ate, meant to take the 'stabilizer' (not a doctor i might be a lil off), but hit himself within insulin pen, when he was already low sugar..... not only was he already low, but it was more insulin then hed normally take even after eating.... legit thought dude was gunna die. turned 'dead body white', unconscious, seizing, while im trying to squirt whip cream down his face hole. dude didnt learn a thing, was drinking Yager bombs with classic Redbull 48hrs later at the bar lol anyway, if hes a younger dude who wants to try and live like someone without diabetes, at minimum hes gunna be less than optimal performance, might have foot problems more than most wr's, mentally unsharp in film room/practice. obv we dunno the extent, if any, but teams are gunna take a deep dive into it and very easily could push him down. this 2nd/3rd tier WR group is so tightly clustered already, wouldnt shock me if he was last to go in those tiers

I see you're getting rained down on, but this is a football forum, and one centered around buffalo which has no pro team and no competitive college teams for basketball. That said the SB as a whole, has been mostly trash (as a 35year Olds perspective). There's been some decent games sprinkled, last 2 years have been fun, generally I think afccg/nfccg is the best round. The tournament was a freaking blast. I don't think your opinion is as out of line as the comments here would make it appear

I'm not here to poop on trade idea threads. It's reasonable, trade value looks fair or in ball park of fair.... wouldn't hate it If we did it, but prefer if we just draft our own young cheap guys. That compensation gets us at least in ball park of a top 3 wr. Definitely within top 4. Stay cheap, get the humble, juiced up to perform kinda guy over an expensive veteran. Will admit my approach is more of a gamble, higher ceiling, lower floor potential. If BB finds that too risky or impossible.... stay put and let a stacked draft fall your way. Good scenarios where any of the 3 options improves us
