  1. He wont. His bestfriend is his qb, and he has no leverage. Youre not going to strong arm your way out with a 30m dead cap hit overhead. Besides those two, I absolutely believe he still loves it here. He's frustrated over a rookie OC, and a way beyond normal stressful 12mos. Neither one of those repeats next year. He'll be fine
  2. Yes us soft bleeding heart millenials raised on South Park, Bevis & Butthead, and dial up internet erotica, are certainly soft 😆
  3. obv not the player he used to be and easy to throw out a "hearda him," dont think hes a number two, no delusion there. given his experience anybody think we look to add a vet role player, realistic contract, providing ring chance like Sanders or our attempt at Bolden? Seems like a player that would draw some Beane attention, week 2 of FA kinda deal?
  4. Dear God this makes me want to see it lol the tears on both sides of that feud would be top shelf delicioussssssssssss
  5. I dont think most here care who's greedy in terms of compensation. Theres 3 things going on here 1. Lamar not being able to carry a team while taking up as much cap space as qb's who are actually able to be a threat from the pocket 2. The guy is no good to a team if hes never healthy. Hes past that point of healing like kids do, this is going to get worse 3. The people who are hostile about calling him greedy are salty at the idea of him skipping playoffs games where 31 other qb's start those games. Hell theres been several current and former players to point this out (not even counting boo-boo foot here) If a pocket passer like Brees cant carry a team on his back with such a large salary cap %, theres next to 0% chance Lamar will. If someone else signs him, its going to be an owner looking to sell tickets for a few years, not a perennial winning org
  6. We just dont play rookies to our own damn detriment (exponentially). Lets use Gabe as an example. Small playing time as a rookie, made nice plays, wouldve liked to see more and help him grow. Year 2, sits behind old ass WR who kills drives for us. Finally, late season, he gets the reins, looks great, and has a 3 (4?) td game. Welp, we couldve used that that year. Gabe couldve used the playing time to learn, too little too late. Last year, fully expected to be a stud based on a small body of work. Then we all know what happened. Dude barely had a chance to learn the game two years/grow. Year 3, we do nothing to address the position assuming what we think is a stud. We know how that went. Imagine if we'd given him time to learn, we dicked around with his development so much, it stunted him, we made a dumb decision based on a small body of work. Caused us to ignore the position. Seems like steady playing time for two years would've solved a lot of this! We failed to develop and properly scout our own players abilities because of it. Now its year 4, we've wasted his rookie contract, and certainly have another conundrum about paying him if he has an above average year as a #2. Hes going to want to get paid, and we wont have the proper body of work to properly decide on if he's then worth #2 money. Lessen learned! *Year 1 Shakir enters room to the sound of breaking glass, strobe lights, fog machines* Elam. Cook. Moss.
  7. milano wasnt someone we could trade. he leaves, we need a new system, or another high pick LB replacement (would anyone have liked that scenario?). we got rid of one starting LB, now we need two. milano and maine are asked to do a lot on this defense, paying them: a. allows us to run the defense we prefer b. at the time, pay one 'super backer' solid money, instead of pay an avg salary to two more LB's, to play next to edmunds that contract was a no brainer at the time. for the same reasons he was valuable to us, is the same reason his trade value wouldve been worth chit. nobody is trading good picks for LBs, especially to have to pay them, andddddd proli change your defense to maximize the trade
  8. maybe he shouldnt have f**** his team and teammates and played in the game that everyone knows he couldve played in. dude lost $$ not signing prev offer. then, all he had to do was not quit on his team and likely wouldve got the same offer. now the balls in their court, he looks like a me first quitter, and when you offer him another contract, it has to be lower (at the least aint going up, no way). dummy is going to be stuck playing on franchise tag, orrrrrrrr hold out, and amplify his stupid mistakes (what i think he does). boy that market next year, after not playing and getting another year older, should really pump his market (/s) its leveon bell x2, all over again
  9. not that the owners are above collusion, but theyre too greedy to all lock him out. some team would cross the boycott line and offer him a deal for less than what he was offered last season. win the bid, great for the team (factoring in the pics). If you lose, oh well, not your problem
  10. drug fueled paranoia and general disregard for others are my guesses. its not like he lives in the hood to be paranoid. looked like a rich suburban neighborhood. even more "laughable" if its a gated community if this was him, 0 chance he ever plays again. this is an escalation VERY similar to hernandez, except very in the open. if/when he kills someone, while on a new contract, with a new team, itd jeopordize not only that franchise but maybe the entire league... plus hes past his prime. juice =/= squeeze
  11. i remember structuring it in a way they couldnt match but dont remember specifically that. holy smokes
  12. i was too young to remember it, but this sounds like that 90's OL buff lost to indy. remember reading that loopholes been covered, so doubtful, but A+ for creativity
  13. if thats the argument then im ok with that as well. s*** or get off the pot. i think were above average, not elite, but am ok w/ either taking the next step or being exposed. i dont want to be stuck in divisional round purgatory. a tougher division could sharpen
  14. Dear God i hope he doesnt have Cynthia Freulands phone number 😲
  15. Leveraging them to what? I don't understand any of this? Hes done 1 year of a 2 year contract correct? I understand gb gave him permission to seek a trade, but where is there leverage? I'm assuming gb hopes he has awesome meetings somewhere to maximize compensation
  16. I cant look at his season state line. Going off against a bad pit team juiced tf out of his stats. His contribution to the team in many games was invisible. Give me the same final stat numbers but consistency game in and out. And nobody's complaining. Catch the damn ball, don't go invisible
  17. have twitter links in here sucked for everyone lately? i cant see the posts in here. today suddenly, i try to copy and paste the link into browser and get this??? just me?
  18. have to think that eagles wingspan inside is more disruptive than on the edge. not an all the time thing, but situationally very nice
  19. yeah this was 100% party of schefty joke https://twitter.com/LeroyInsider/status/1632751021645606914
  20. this is pft? doesnt look like his acct. if it is, id very much dismiss it as 99.9% tom-foolery lol especially afte schefter tried dooping him on Lamar to WASH edit: checked the clip of todays episode he literally said "we should just report it, its a 50/50 shot" lollllllllllllllllll
  21. Anyone have a good link that goes in on a bit of deep dive on 2 te sets? i found some all22 clips of gronk/ah, but would like a breadkdown of sorts
  22. theyre clearly heading towards a full rebuild whether they like it or not, seems like theyre finally admitting it. rumors of moving ramsey, stafford approaching retirement. donald is getting up there in age. i wouldnt factor this in too much. side note, will Snead learn to value draft picks now? not at all talking him down, he set a goal and accomplished it. just interesting to think about a guy whos traded more picks than anyone ever, now having to do the inverse
