  1. There were a number of 2 WR sets with Duke and Brown on the field. I didn't mind Duke seeing the field today, but no way should Beasley be on the sidelines while he's in the game. Twice as many targets as Beasley and more than anyone on the team. With everyone loving what he did last week, I called it before the game that it had the makings of a Flutie vs Johnson 1999 scenario.
  2. He should've had it, he jumped way too early and was already coming down when the ball arrived.
  3. tried to do too much lol? He had 372 total yards, he was our leading passer, rusher and caught the only TD. I know he makes a few boneheaded decisions in most games, but being directly responsible of 372 of the 425 total yards, I don't know if I would've come out with that statement tonight.
  4. How does he see more targets than Brown and twice as many as Beasley today? All did about the same in yardage.
  5. The defense was just as much a part of that choke as anyone else. Through the midway point in the 3rd they were extremely rested from all the long drives the offense had put together. From that point on they were gashed up and down the field, giving up 19 points in the last 16:33. The o-line did no one any favors also with some shoddy blocking and untimely, dumb penalties.
  6. So am I Gunner. He makes a few mistakes that make you wince in a lot of games, but has made great strides not only since last offseason, but maybe more importantly since the first Pats**** game. He was directly responsible for 372 yards today out of our 425 total. Our leading passer, runner and caught our only TD in his first playoff game on the road no less. As bad as a few plays were there were a couple of plays where he threw perfect passes into extremely tight windows while scrambling. If he continues to improve this offseason we'll have a pretty darn good QB next year and beyond.
  7. This year I'd probably would go with Smoke. Hopkins has Fuller & Stills so he's been better protected than Brown who has had Beasley only. And I would ask what do you think Brown would've finished with this year if he had the 35 more targets Hopkins had AND Watson throwing him the ball OR the 35 more targets AND he & Allen were on their 3rd year together like Hopkins & Watson? Hopkins had all the advantages, 35 more targets, a better QB(Currently) & better chemistry with his QB, but finished with only 105 more yards and 1 more TD.
  8. I think Josh still gets too amped up before home games and the intensity of the home crowd probably only adds to that. That being said I do recall at least couple of very windy home games this year, the Philly game comes to mind as one. He's always going to play half a year worth of home games or more in less than ideal weather conditions and it will hurt his career numbers. He doesn't get the benefit of playing in a dome, the south or out west.
  9. I never said anything about their overall careers, so I don't know why you would give me a rundown of Hopkin's career numbers? I was just replying to a poster saying Hopkins having almost 50% more catches was significantly more productive(In the NFL yards matter more than catches) and how much that one extra first down a game really mattered in the scheme of things. In the end Brown has been better when targeted this year even though A.) He doesn't have Watson throwing to him B.) He doesn't have the chemistry with Allen that Hopkins & Watson have. It's not really close. Statistically it's Hopkins second worst year since he had to share catches with Andre Johnson. The only season worse was when Osweiler & Savage were throwing to him.
  10. He makes amazing catches, but he's not significantly more productive than Brown this season. He did say this season in his post. I get that Hopkins has had a really good career, but this season was somewhat of a down year for him. In 2015, 2017 & 2018 he had between 1,378 - 1,572 yards and his TD totals for those years were 11, 13 & 11. The only year in that mix he didn't do as well as this year was 2016 when he had Brock Osweiler & Tom Savage throwing him the ball. His numbers this year and their rank in his 7 year career Recs - 3rd, Yds - 5th, YPC - Last, TDs - 4th, 20 Yard Plays - 5th, 40 Yard Plays - Last, and the ever pivotal First Downs - 4th. And that includes the years when he had Osweiler, Savage, Hoyer, Yates, an old Schaub & a rookie Case Keenum throwing to him, not Deshaun Watson. He's even better protected with Fuller & Stills than he has been in his career besides the first 2 years when Andre Johnson was on the team. He's been an elite WR in the past, but he hasn't been elite this year.
  11. Brown had 69% of the catches Hopkins had but had 91% of his yards & 86% of his TDs and you're trying to spin that into a win for Hopkins? I could counter-argue and say Smoke had 3 times as many 40 yard plays, but it the end it was only 2 more than Hopkins (3 to 1). In the end substance matters. All those extra targets & receptions amounted to a single first down more per game(68 vs 53). He's not keeping that horrific defense off the field all that much longer Smoke. I'd rather have more bang for my buck.
  12. I've seen this opinion on Facebook about the top 5 passers not making the playoffs this year and checked into the numbers. Winston had way more yards in their wins vs losses and 4 of their 7 wins were by double digits. Matt Ryan averaged a couple yards more in wins vs losses and 4 of their 7 wins were by double digits, some were total blowouts(40-20, 29-3, 26-9). Dak & Rivers averaged ~9 yards below their season average in wins, Dallas had double digit wins in 7 of their 8 wins and the Chargers had double digit wins in 3 of their 5 wins. Goff was the only QB out of the 5 that averaged significantly more yards in losses vs wins.
  13. Good guess whippersnapper, only 404 off, but unfortunately you were over on your guess. So your prize is a lifetime membership to the Buffalo Bill Stadium Snow Removal Club!!!?
  14. Just last game I saw him climb the pocket on a 3rd and 10 from the 2 yard line and fire a laser on the run to Beasley for 30 yards. I also saw him stand like a statue for seconds on a 2nd and 20 play and hit Beasley for 19 yards. That was a pretty darn good defense he did that to, in their house. Since we lost to the Pats*** in game 4 he has 13 passing TDs and only 2 INTs and adding 5 more rushing TDs. I've become comfortable with him throwing in and out of the pocket and my confidence grows weekly. The kid has grown up so much since the loss to the Pats***, to the point he looks like a completely different player.
  15. Perception is everything. In 46 less attempts Josh has the same amount of 40+ yard completions(5) this year as last year. I get what you were saying though, he was way off in the beginning of the year, but that most likely was coach telling him to be conservative and let the defense win games. Since McDermott told him to play fearless his deep ball has been much in the sense when he misses he's still giving the receiver a chance to catch a 50/50 ball. Not throwing it 5 yards too deep or too far out of bounds.
  16. Cleveland is not ending the year on a 8 game winning streak especially with no Garrett. I think the Raiders end 10-6 at best and Pit isn't finishing the year winning 10 of it's last 11 or even winning 9 of their last 11.
  17. Let's see how Allen does now that our conservative coach told him to be fearless. I believe a lot of the deep ball problems stem from our coaching staff telling him to be safe with the long ball.
  18. After 10 weeks he has only 14 TDs, how many people had Josh with only 1 Passing TD less than Brady through 10 weeks? 10 TDs through week 5, 4 TDs since or half his TDs(7) came in the first 3 weeks of the season. He's now 21st in QB Rating. First time in a long time that the Pats*** are winning in spite of Brady's play.
  19. He doesn't, he's currently 8th in the league in receiving yards. Still better than I thought he would do. https://www.espn.com/nfl/stats/player/_/stat/receiving/table/receiving/sort/receivingYards/dir/desc
  20. Also the OC gave him a chance by calling a very balanced game, 33 passes, 34 runs. Josh will get to the point where he can carry the offense, he's just not there yet.
  21. 10 Passing TDs only 1 INT since the Pats*** game and he's added 4 more TDs on the ground during that stretch. He's now thrown 163 passes without an INT. He's definitely getting better.
  22. He pushed off with his foot in Garrett's groin. You forgot to add that he did so as Garrett was picking him up off the ground by his facemask. Would you just sit there and let him pick you up by your head? Maybe he should've tried playing possum? I don't think anyone has been suspended for trying to take someones helmet off.
