  1. Once again look at his first four games and the last four games. The Ravens shocked the NFL by coming out slinging the ball to start the year, by games 5-8 the NFL caught on to the passing game and he had to revert back to a running QB. https://www.espn.com/nfl/player/gamelog/_/id/3916387/lamar-jackson
  2. But that doesn't make him a good QB, it makes him good at running the ball.
  3. But 2 were on the ground and that really has nothing to do with being a good QB. That 1 TD was his only passing TD in his last 3 games for crying out loud. The game before that he had 1 TD and 3 INTs vs the Steelers. He had almost as many TDs vs Miami that he's had in the other 7 games combined. Passing wise he has cooled way off from early in the year, there's is absolutely no denying that. Take a look at the first 4 games, then the last 4 games. He's not the same QB passing wise. https://www.espn.com/nfl/player/gamelog/_/id/3916387/lamar-jackson
  4. Why does it not make sense? Take a look at his games this year, which one doesn't belong? It's an outlier of all his other games. If the Miami team from the first couple of weeks played the Miami team from the last couple of weeks who would win and what would the score be? The team from the first few weeks would get their butts handed to them, there was absolutely NO effort from them.
  5. 7 TDs & only 1 INT, in his last 4 games. 6 of the 7 TDs were in the redzone & 5 were to WRs(All weak points last year). Yeah he's improving. For comparison...Some are treating Lamar like he's God, he runs a lot I get it, but in his last 4 games he had games of 161 yards, 236 yards, 143 yards & 163 yards with only 2 TDs & 3 INTs. Matter of fact take the Miami game out and he has only 7 TDs & 5 INTs in his other 7 games.
  6. Even the defense is far more aggressive against good teams and seems more passive against crap teams? Like they are playing not to lose. I would've played tight coverage and blitzed like crazy against Haskins in his first start. And to me the last few years the defense comes out more aggressive in the first few games of the year then turns more passive, PUT PRESSURE ON YOUNG QBs.
  7. I told my friend before the year started that the offense would struggle in the first half of the year, but be better the second half. It only makes sense with 9 new starters, how little they play in preseason games now and a young, talented, but unpolished QB. The coaching staff didn't like Tyrod, but the longer we get into the year the more it looks like Josh is being coached into Tyrod. Both could hit the long ball until they got under this coaching staff. Then both started throwing every long pass either out of bounds or way too far for the WR to catch. Let the kid play for Christ's sake, he's going to make mistakes, let him learn from them. Another thing the defense is really good at yards allowed and points allowed, but doesn't get many turnovers outside of a few games. They got 8 total turnovers in the Giants, Bengals & Dolphins games, but only have 3 in the other 5 games. Also I thought with the addition of Roberts the special teams would give us a lot more good/great returns than they have this year. The offense doesn't get many short fields and have a ton of long TD drives so far this year.
  8. Since the start of last season, 300 yard passers are exactly .500. Coach has had Tyrod, Peterman, Tyrod, Peterman, a young Allen, Anderson, Barkley & a young Allen for QBs during his time here & is still above .500 even while shedding talent and having $55 million in dead cap space last year. I good him for now.
  9. I saw this stat as well, it's only three times we started 6-1 under the current playoff format.
  10. The O-Line has been bad in the passing game, but that's just as much on the coach as anyone. They average 5.3 yards a rush, which is 2nd in the league, so why are they passing way more than rushing(201 vs 136)? They can run the ball and have a good defense, so why pass 67.7% of the time? Part of being a good team is knowing what you do and don't do well.
  11. Use the same concept the Pats*** used with Brady*** when he took over in his second year. This team is built very much like that team, great defense and good running game, lean on the defense and running game and pick your spots in the passing game. In the AFC Championship game & Super Bowl combined he was only 28/45 for 260 Yards 5.77 YPA, in 2 games. They had a really good team, who didn't lean too hard on a young QB and both the team & QB were rewarded for it.
  12. Absolutely. They don't just have upside, this team(Especially on offense and special teams) can get a whole lot better by the time the playoffs near.
  13. Bojo is 28th in average, dead last in net at only 34.2 per punt(In last by 3.2 yards) and that's with having a really good game yesterday. The only time he gets a good punt off is when we're near midfield and he kicks it in the endzone. We desperately need a new punter.
  14. Fair enough, since preseason got over I haven't been following him much. As I did mention in our epic battle over this, now that he's been called up, I will be rooting for him just as hard and as much as everyone else is. I just don't see it translating outside the redzone. But with our offense moving the ball really well and not scoring, that would be big boost.
  15. You're expecting this after Duke averaged 8.9 yards a catch in preseason against mostly guys that couldn't make NFL rosters? If he only averaged 8.9 yards a catch against nobodies, what is he going to average against 1st team CBs?
  16. John how are you coming up with 10 new starters on offense? I believe there are 8 new starters, Allen, Zay & Dawkins were starters last year.
  17. Duke's 40 time was 4.65-4.72 IIRC, Metcalf's 40 time was 4.33. DK has some speed on him for sure.
  18. In 16 career games Foster has 11 games with 2 catches or less including 8 with no catches. Is he really better or did he have a few good games? No one can answer that, but 50% of games he's played in he caught 0 passes, that's a fact. On a side note....It sounds like if Josh is ready to go, you're going to get your wish and Duke may get his shot as he was seen working on special teams today for the first time and McDermott was released.
  19. He was out there taking first team reps yesterday, if he's cleared I highly doubt he doesn't play. Sunday is one of the more important games this year. Also we wouldn't have to sign a backup QB anyways, just call up Davis Webb from the practice squad.
  20. Josh is in stage 4 of 5 today, unless there's a set back there's a good chance he'll be out of protocol either tomorrow or Friday.
  21. To be fair Allen overthrew Zay at least once yesterday, one on a deep ball late in the first half. He's done it a few times this year with him and a few other times with others. They both have faults, but if your going to play "hero ball" at QB you need to hit a few those deep bombs when your WR has a couple steps on the defender. Not be 0 of whatever the count is on the year.
  22. So you had them at 2-2 after the first quarter and you have them 2-2 in the second quarter of the season. With the second half schedule looking the way it does, did you have them with a losing record this year? At Tenn. and home 3 straight against Miami, Philly and the Washington, I think they'll be either 6-2 or 7-1 at the halfway point.
  23. He held onto the ball even after getting ko'd. He has his faults, he should get better as he gets more experience. I think he was too amped up yesterday and resorted to hero ball again, that should get better as he's in more and more big games. If this game was in NE yesterday I think he would've been more relaxed and we would've won. He's definitely better than last year, but still needs to keep working his tail off on not being such a gunslinger and taking what the defense is giving him. He did that on the first drive of the second half and they went right down the field. There's a lot of good with Josh, there's been improvement in several areas over last year, but yesterday proved he's still a work in progress.
