  1. Or.... it could be that the 32 NFL teams front offices are better at evaluating talent than, say.... pretty much every member of this message board and every team message board that exists. 🤷‍♂️ just saying.
  2. While having two weeks rest does give a distinct advantage, that's really not the issue. The issue is the added team to the playoffs which prevents the 2nd seed team from having a bye as well. Some VERY weak teams made it to the playoffs this year because of it.
  3. All I know is that the run game on both sides of the ball regressed without both of these men. Is that a coincidence? Time will tell if they are both back next year. That said, as someone else pointed out, Carolina's run defense regressed when they lost Star when they thought he was replaceable.
  4. This! I would also add if we can, a highly rated FA pickup at DE. Hopefully Star Lotulelei will be back to help plug up the middle like he did in 2019 and not opt out like he did for 2020. Personally, I would also like to see some better run blocking OL-men. Maybe it was scheme related this year but it seems that the 2019 season we ran the ball better. Of course, we also had McCoy then.
  5. WTH are you talking about? Easier loss to take? They are professional competitors.... there is no such thing as an easy loss to take. As for fans, no loss is easy to take either, especially when you are talking about the conference championship game. 🙄 smh!
  6. Here, I'll explain it to you very simply. They do Incentive laden contracts with Bonuses at a smaller yearly salary. The Salary gets spread out over the number of years of the contract, but the bonuses count against only that year they are given. That keep the yearly salary's manageable while still having the cap space to pay out the bonuses when and if they are met. It's literally how every other NFL team does it. That's not even taking into account the fact that these are all "character" guys that buy into the team first philosophy that Bean and McDermott are all about. They want the player like this because as long as they are building a winning team, those types of players will take those types of contract so that they can retain and attract great talent to keep on winning.
  7. Love the little speech but.....ACESS DENIED!!! Hahahahahahahaha
  8. Ding Ding Ding Ding! Congratulations!!! You have just won the Internet for the day!!!
  9. That is factually incorrect. They never confirmed that he had a concussion. They only confirmed that he was in concussion protocol and therefore unable to finish the game. Also, I am hearing that it ended up being a pinched nerve in the neck which would exude similar symptoms, but also puts his playing up in the air for Sunday. This information would fall in line with Reid's comments after the game when he said he appeared to be doing much better. I won't argue your point regarding the NFL caring about the players as neither our opinion matters. The just simply differ.
  10. Respectfully, I have to disagree 1000% on this. They have taken a lot of heat about concussions and concussion protocols. There is no way they will pressure the independent doctor that reviews and tests Mahomes into giving him the go. That doctor would also be committing career suicide to allow it to happen. They let him play and he hasn't actually cleared protocols and then gets hurt even worse the fallout from that will be catastrophic. Especially with it being Mahomes, who is undeniably the face of the NFL right now.
  11. Especially if it's that wet greasy stuff. Even if it doesn't snow, but they get a little bit of that icy rain pellet's to slick up the field a little bit.
  12. That's not exactly a mathematical formula but I think I won't disagree that it can't total up his AV to 104. 😂 As someone else mentioned Diggs would still be here as he was traded to Buffalo. One could argue that Bean never makes that trade if it not for the fact that we have Josh Allen. I think that one could even argue that if it not for Diggs JA doesn't take as significant a leap in his game this year; and I won't argue the fact that if not for JA and Diggs connecting over video games before camp the chemistry they share now wouldn't have been there. All that said, saying we would have been "a 9-7 team at best" is pointless. You would have no idea where we would be.... none of us would. It would be a completely different team. We already had Allen, and he was developing and making progress during and after each season so that puzzle piece was already here. Say we never make that trade for Diggs or someone else ponies up more capital to get him instead of us forcing Bean to go in another direction for a top tier veteran #1 receiver or ending up picking the best receiver available in the draft with their 1st round pick. Do you think Josh would have done anything different as far as trying to connect with that person on a personal level to create that connection and develop that chemistry? Given his character.... I highly doubt it. While that non Diggs player may not have had his veteran experience, he would have at least close to the same level of talent and you can't guess on how he would or at what level he would or could connect with said person that would plug in place of Diggs. So, there is no way to cast such a definitive decision on what this teams record would have been without Diggs. The best part is that we DO have Diggs and we don't need to think about where this team might have been. All we need to do as fans is focus on is where we are now and let Bean and McDermott worry about where we go tomorrow, next week, next month or next year.
  13. Agreed, but I highly doubt the Bills would offer a "below market value" contract extension.
  14. Personally i think if he gets one it will be the Chargers. But I am hearing talk that former Philly Coach Doug Pederson may likely land there. I am really hoping Daball stays put.
  15. I think Josh Allen is too much of a team guy to even care about being the highest paid QB. Be it from his draft class or the entire NFL. 🤷‍♂️ Just my two cents.
  16. It's the playoffs, every team should be at the very least a concern if not a worry. They are in the playoffs for a reason.... they were good enough to get there. To not have some level of concern, in my view; would be foolish. Look at last nights Steelers vs Browns game as a prime example. The Browns weren't even allowed to practice until Friday due to COVID. I thought for sure they would walk into Pittsburg and get their a$$e$ absolutely handed to them and get completely trounced by the Steelers. IT was 28-0 at the end of the 1st quarter Browns. I was like..... 😲 holy shiz-nit So basically what we did last year to them, except this year we have an offense that can pretty much score at will? We held Jackson to 40 yards rushing on 11 attempts in that game.
  17. Why do so many of the Bills Mafia have to rely on nostalgia to bring back former players to coach when we lose a coach or have the possibility of losing one? He's been here as a coach before, from 2006 - 2009 as Offensive Quality Control Coach in 2006 to Offensive Coordinator \ QB Coach in 2009. He was a "just okay" coach. Maybe he is a much better coach now. But, let our front office and head Coach do their jobs to pick who fits in as a coach for this team. We don't need nostalgia to lead us. We need leaders that can teach the game of football. That's why McD's worked out so well. He picked great minded coaches who know how to teach their systems and the fundamentals of football.
  18. Agreed. Last year Singletary did play better than this year. I know what you mean by him being a little more "craftier". Maybe it was just an off year or something that they did different in scheme that caused it. Not sure. I am certainly no expert either. Hopefully the run game picks up a bit more in the playoffs. We can't afford to be one dimensional.
  19. Not for anything here but one thing that may play a factor for Daball is that he is from this area, he loves the area and had been waiting for an opportunity that allowed him to come back to the area. While i may be reaching here, he may not want to leave. Just a thought. Plus Sean McD. could promote him to Assistant Head Coach like they did when they hired Fraiser. He is the Defensive Coordinator but doesn't he have the title of D Coordinator\Assistant Head Coach?
  20. I whole heartedly agree that JA is all of those things you say he is. The fact is though, that he has been told he wasn't good enough. Especially so, that he wasn't good enough to be a franchise QB in the NFL (by so called experts). That he wasn't accurate enough. I find it hard to believe that that doesn't put a "chip on his shoulder"..... at some level, it has to. It's not a bad thing, not at all. He can have that "chip on his shoulder" and still be all those things you said he is. He just internalizes it to motivate himself to be the best player he can be. Maybe saying that it "pissed him off" is more of a misnomer and saying that it aggravated him enough is more accurate; to work that much harder, or put in that extra study time.... or whatever it is that he has done for himself to take that next step in his evolution as a player to make himself an elite player. As for Rogers...... agreed. I've read enough and see enough people talk about him to know you are right about him. That dude is an a-hole 🤣
  21. Agreed. I wouldn't say i am "scared" of the Titans as a team to play..... more like nervous. LOL! They have to get past the Colts first but beyond that, none of the other teams outside of the Titans make me nervous for our Bills. Not the Ravens or the Chiefs, and certainly not Cleveland or the Colts.
  22. Honestly... I would rather play the Steelers than the Titans. That said, I'm not really what to think about playing the Titans again. The last time we played them, we didn't know for sure who we were going to be playing and had to game plan on a short time frame. We got crushed... but we're not the same team that we were then either. Their Defense is mediocre at best of that Henry is an absolute beast and very tough to stop in the run game.
  23. As much as I think Moss struggled to gain yards at times, I still think he performed better than Singletary did this year. Our o-line needs to do better in run blocking schemes. Pass blocking they are ridiculously good. JA some weeks can sit back in the pocket and literally make a loaf of bread he has so much time and open space protecting him.
  24. I'm going to apologize in advance because my inner nerd is coming out 😂. This reminds me of a Raymond Feist series that I read that started off with Magician Apprentice and Magician Master. At the End of Magician Master (I'm assuming you have not read these) the main character Pug after being told and treated throughout the book like he is so lowly and unimportant that he will amount to nothing is so disgusted and angered by what he is seeing take place that he literally cracks open the planet with his magical powers. JA's been told throughout HS and college he was never going to be good enough, never be accurate enough. It, as you said; pissed him off enough to light a fire in his belly to work his ass off and now, he's lit the whole NFL on fire and is going to burn the whole f'ing thing to the ground if he has to to prove everyone of those nah sayer's wrong Though Sci-Fi Fantasy is not everyone's "cup of tea", if you haven't read these two books, they are a great read.
