That's not exactly a mathematical formula but I think I won't disagree that it can't total up his AV to 104. 😂 As someone else mentioned Diggs would still be here as he was traded to Buffalo. One could argue that Bean never makes that trade if it not for the fact that we have Josh Allen. I think that one could even argue that if it not for Diggs JA doesn't take as significant a leap in his game this year; and I won't argue the fact that if not for JA and Diggs connecting over video games before camp the chemistry they share now wouldn't have been there. All that said, saying we would have been "a 9-7 team at best" is pointless. You would have no idea where we would be.... none of us would. It would be a completely different team. We already had Allen, and he was developing and making progress during and after each season so that puzzle piece was already here. Say we never make that trade for Diggs or someone else ponies up more capital to get him instead of us forcing Bean to go in another direction for a top tier veteran #1 receiver or ending up picking the best receiver available in the draft with their 1st round pick. Do you think Josh would have done anything different as far as trying to connect with that person on a personal level to create that connection and develop that chemistry? Given his character.... I highly doubt it. While that non Diggs player may not have had his veteran experience, he would have at least close to the same level of talent and you can't guess on how he would or at what level he would or could connect with said person that would plug in place of Diggs. So, there is no way to cast such a definitive decision on what this teams record would have been without Diggs. The best part is that we DO have Diggs and we don't need to think about where this team might have been. All we need to do as fans is focus on is where we are now and let Bean and McDermott worry about where we go tomorrow, next week, next month or next year.

Which class of 2018 QB gets the highest extension

Agreed, but I highly doubt the Bills would offer a "below market value" contract extension. -
Which HC Job, If Any, Does Brian Daboll Get?
BigPappy replied to jwhit34's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Personally i think if he gets one it will be the Chargers. But I am hearing talk that former Philly Coach Doug Pederson may likely land there. I am really hoping Daball stays put. -
Which class of 2018 QB gets the highest extension

I think Josh Allen is too much of a team guy to even care about being the highest paid QB. Be it from his draft class or the entire NFL. 🤷♂️ Just my two cents. -
The best run defense is scoring 30+
BigPappy replied to DollaBills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's the playoffs, every team should be at the very least a concern if not a worry. They are in the playoffs for a reason.... they were good enough to get there. To not have some level of concern, in my view; would be foolish. Look at last nights Steelers vs Browns game as a prime example. The Browns weren't even allowed to practice until Friday due to COVID. I thought for sure they would walk into Pittsburg and get their a$$e$ absolutely handed to them and get completely trounced by the Steelers. IT was 28-0 at the end of the 1st quarter Browns. I was like..... 😲 holy shiz-nit So basically what we did last year to them, except this year we have an offense that can pretty much score at will? We held Jackson to 40 yards rushing on 11 attempts in that game. -
Why do so many of the Bills Mafia have to rely on nostalgia to bring back former players to coach when we lose a coach or have the possibility of losing one? He's been here as a coach before, from 2006 - 2009 as Offensive Quality Control Coach in 2006 to Offensive Coordinator \ QB Coach in 2009. He was a "just okay" coach. Maybe he is a much better coach now. But, let our front office and head Coach do their jobs to pick who fits in as a coach for this team. We don't need nostalgia to lead us. We need leaders that can teach the game of football. That's why McD's worked out so well. He picked great minded coaches who know how to teach their systems and the fundamentals of football.

Agreed. Last year Singletary did play better than this year. I know what you mean by him being a little more "craftier". Maybe it was just an off year or something that they did different in scheme that caused it. Not sure. I am certainly no expert either. Hopefully the run game picks up a bit more in the playoffs. We can't afford to be one dimensional.

Not for anything here but one thing that may play a factor for Daball is that he is from this area, he loves the area and had been waiting for an opportunity that allowed him to come back to the area. While i may be reaching here, he may not want to leave. Just a thought. Plus Sean McD. could promote him to Assistant Head Coach like they did when they hired Fraiser. He is the Defensive Coordinator but doesn't he have the title of D Coordinator\Assistant Head Coach?

I whole heartedly agree that JA is all of those things you say he is. The fact is though, that he has been told he wasn't good enough. Especially so, that he wasn't good enough to be a franchise QB in the NFL (by so called experts). That he wasn't accurate enough. I find it hard to believe that that doesn't put a "chip on his shoulder"..... at some level, it has to. It's not a bad thing, not at all. He can have that "chip on his shoulder" and still be all those things you said he is. He just internalizes it to motivate himself to be the best player he can be. Maybe saying that it "pissed him off" is more of a misnomer and saying that it aggravated him enough is more accurate; to work that much harder, or put in that extra study time.... or whatever it is that he has done for himself to take that next step in his evolution as a player to make himself an elite player. As for Rogers...... agreed. I've read enough and see enough people talk about him to know you are right about him. That dude is an a-hole 🤣

So, we're rooting for Pittsburgh next week, right?
BigPappy replied to BisonMan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed. I wouldn't say i am "scared" of the Titans as a team to play..... more like nervous. LOL! They have to get past the Colts first but beyond that, none of the other teams outside of the Titans make me nervous for our Bills. Not the Ravens or the Chiefs, and certainly not Cleveland or the Colts. -

BigPappy replied to BisonMan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Honestly... I would rather play the Steelers than the Titans. That said, I'm not really what to think about playing the Titans again. The last time we played them, we didn't know for sure who we were going to be playing and had to game plan on a short time frame. We got crushed... but we're not the same team that we were then either. Their Defense is mediocre at best of that Henry is an absolute beast and very tough to stop in the run game. -
As much as I think Moss struggled to gain yards at times, I still think he performed better than Singletary did this year. Our o-line needs to do better in run blocking schemes. Pass blocking they are ridiculously good. JA some weeks can sit back in the pocket and literally make a loaf of bread he has so much time and open space protecting him.

I'm going to apologize in advance because my inner nerd is coming out 😂. This reminds me of a Raymond Feist series that I read that started off with Magician Apprentice and Magician Master. At the End of Magician Master (I'm assuming you have not read these) the main character Pug after being told and treated throughout the book like he is so lowly and unimportant that he will amount to nothing is so disgusted and angered by what he is seeing take place that he literally cracks open the planet with his magical powers. JA's been told throughout HS and college he was never going to be good enough, never be accurate enough. It, as you said; pissed him off enough to light a fire in his belly to work his ass off and now, he's lit the whole NFL on fire and is going to burn the whole f'ing thing to the ground if he has to to prove everyone of those nah sayer's wrong Though Sci-Fi Fantasy is not everyone's "cup of tea", if you haven't read these two books, they are a great read.

Bills host WR Tanner Gentry for visit.
BigPappy replied to MAJBobby's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I just don't see Josh as a guy who would do that (use is "clout" to push for a specific player). That's just not who he is, at least in my opinion he's not "that kind of guy". That's more of a "Marcia" Brady or Troy Aikman move because they're a-holes. I would have to go with @buffaloboyinATL's take on this (see below) and say it's more of Bean giving courtesy to Josh by looking at a former teammate that he has had chemistry with for a 'as seamless possible" transition in the game dealing with the loss of Beasley if it comes down to that. -
Exactly! Yes, he dropped a sure thing TD pass. All of them do at times through out their career. He more than made up for it the rest of the game with some clutch catches that were pretty nice. Especially the sideline catch where he dragged his feet to stay inbounds.

2020 MVP Race - Has Mahomes been incredibly lucky?
BigPappy replied to IgotBILLStopay's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He definitely will have to continue to play like he has in these last two games to have a chance and I think that it will certainly help his cause to surpass Mahomes by a few touchdowns. Personally, I think he has already earned it. He is definitely the most improved QB over last year increasing his completion percentage by nearly 10 points, increased his accuracy; especially with his long ball, had fewer interceptions, more passing touchdowns from last year, more passing yards from last year, not to mention waaaay better pocket presence. All that said, I still don't think they will give it to him. The entire league is Mahomes happy right now, they have been since he started playing. Don't get me wrong, he is an outstanding player and will probably if he continues to play in the prolific manner that he has; will one day be in the HOF, but I don't think that he is this years MVP and it's not even close in my eyes. Call me a cynic but I think it's the "stigma" of him playing in Buffalo. I think the league hates it when any small market team not named Green Bay Packers have strong tough teams that compete and beat larger market teams. Or worse yet have elite players that they can't just ignore. -
Mike Tomlin on physicality of Bills
BigPappy replied to CorkScrewHill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Based on the video of the team coming together in the tunnel for JA's pregame speech I'd say you're 100% correct that they knew about it. As for Tomlin, that POS can vow all he wants that he didn't know about it but Ju Ju does that at EVERY road game. There is no way he's not "aware" of it. I know it, I know you know it.... and i know all of Bills nation knows it. -
Collinsworth - Credit where credit is due.....

I mean, we are talking about Collinsworth. He can be hard to follow at best sometimes and makes confusing statements all the time -
Collinsworth - Credit where credit is due.....
BigPappy replied to Billsfan1972's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm not sure you actually understood his comparison. When he was making that reference, he was comparing JA and Beasley with how Brady always had his over the top receiver (Diggs or Brown for JA) but always had an underneath receiver that was always open for him like Beasley is for Josh. while I am not a Chris Collinsworth fan... he is annoying to listen to because 9 times out of 10 he's always talking about a supposed "special" player like he gets to suck him off after the game if he talks him up enough; he wasn't half bad last night.
