Weak, soft or just overmatched?
BigPappy replied to Toledo Bill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Who the hell are you and where the f*&k do you get off making such assessments on a franchise QB's status of progression? Did YOU play or coach in the NFL? I seriously doubt it. The last time i check JA is a human being and not a perfect one and just like anyone else, he is going to have off days or just bad days. Especially being in his third season. If you want to complain about the "state of our team" then GTFO the train and go watch some figure skating. -
You don't have a clue what you are talking about. Even if you were partially right, you're still 100% wrong because JA has a bazooka for a right arm and the wind will only be a small factor when a bazooka fires. That bomb a threw to Davis Sunday was on the run with his body twisted up and basically flicked his wrist and sent it flying at high velocity. This times 1000%

The Jets are going to go on a run
BigPappy replied to JetsFan20's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Bro! Whatever you're smoking.... put it down. You're killing your brain cells. -
Kudos to you for owning your error in judgement. There are many here that can't and still don't, and continue to look JA with skepticism. All players have good days and bad ones, but I think, as you said.... he is legit. I personally reserved judgement after he was drafted and just hoped for the best. He had his flaws for sure, but his potential upside was huge to say the least. I love the game of football, but I have no business trying to evaluate a college players potential so I leave it to the pros and just sit on my couch glued to my TV eating my popcorn like i'm watching a death match to see how it all plays out.

What does Darnold's performance say about Jordan Palmer?
BigPappy replied to cage's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
and that's fine. provided that all are on an equal "playing field" That's the point of the social justice movement. Give everyone the same rules, same treatment, same access to the same tools and let them determine the outcome of their own life. Things may "appear" to be set up that way now, but they are not ACTUALLY that way. -
What does Darnold's performance say about Jordan Palmer?
BigPappy replied to cage's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Personally, i don't think it says anything about Palmer. He has tutored Mahomes, Watson, Josh Allen, Sam Darnold, Joe Burrow, Kyle Allen and others. Sam Darnold was claimed by the so called experts to be a better talent than Josh Allen, as well as Mahomes; and Jordan didn't ruin Mahomes. I think it comes down to the raw talent that the player has and the big muscle between their ears that matters. In my opinion, i think the struggles that Darnold has been experiencing comes down to two factors. 1. The so called experts over evaluated his talent..... and 2. The dumpster fire AKA the NY Jets has not helped him grow as a player because their GM and coaching staff are an abomination to NFL coaching. Just my take on things any way. 🤷♂️ -
Will Bass win the job? I Doubt it. As someone else mentioned, i don't think you go with a rookie kicker when you can't even see how he does in a preseason game let alone one that counts. How will the team simulate games / pressure in a way that they can comfortably decide to go with the rookie ?: Coach has already discussed this in interviews regarding all the players. They can do a variety of things including playing for a no pads day or a walk through day, or even a rest day. Do they toss Bass on the practice squad ?: Probably not pick him as the starter bit I could see him being included in the 53 rather than practice squad. As a side note though, I think you will see far less of teams picking players from other teams practice squads this year since it will be such an effort for them bring them into facilities to join the their team. Instead, I think teams will stick to their own practice squad players and fill their team needs mainly through their own squad players as \ if needed. If they pick Bass, do they try to keep Hauschka on the practice squad and protect him as insurance ? Hauschka is not eligible for PS.

Is QB the most mentally taxing position in sports?
BigPappy replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have to agree with Don Otreply. Overall, being a NASCAR or Formula One driver takes way more brain power and mental agility than any other sport out there and I am saying that as someone that doesn't really watch the sport let alone has ever even thought of ever trying to be a driver. Now, all that being said; the article is about a man that has the mental acuity of a slug or earthworm so I wouldn't put to much stock in the writers acknowledgment of the complexities in the Tampa play book. -
I think I remember hearing or reading something somewhere that they aren't allowed to be vocal in their complaints regarding the league or the Commissioner, at least not publicly.
-
I mean, yeah.... it's possible that all team are doing it. But then again, it's also possible for me to run to be POTUS. However very unlikely. ? I would think that with as often as the Patsies have been caught cheating, that if other teams were actually cheating, they would get just as caught.... Just saying. ?♂️
-
Yup. Or another one i hear a lot is.... "all teams do it. if you're not cheating , you're not trying hard enough". If all teams are doing it, how come no one else is getting caught doing it? Cheatriot fans are pathetic. In the case of Kraft, i would say he's too busy getting a "rub and tug" to notice the slap on the hand.

Fracking industry projected to have $300B in losses
BigPappy replied to cage's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This exactly, I will also add that the $300 million loss is temporary. Fracking is still the largest source of natural gas nationally at 67% and the primary function of his energy company. The losses will be related mostly to COVID and come this time next year profits will be back up where they have been or higher. Like most of the very wealthy, their money is probably tied up in huge purchases of gold and silver which very rarely make huge jumps or slides in value. This is why and how the wealthy STAY wealthy. -
Josh Allen and the Check Down Pass
BigPappy replied to Protocal69's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Don't you think calling Trent a coward and a fraud is a little harsh? He stood in there and took hits and often right up until he took that last one that changed him for ever. He was never going to be great but he could have been pretty decent if not for that nasty hit he took. I never played Football except for with friends and I don't know what your history of playing the game is, but unless you have been in his shoes.... take those beatings.... it's a bit unfair of you or anyone to judge him as a coward or a fraud. -
will the oil price war crush the Pegulas?
BigPappy replied to stuvian's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Yup, this. He is a Natural Gas holder not Oil. If anything, he will only get richer as more and more industries move away from oil to natural gas. -
There are no such thing as indicators for predicting future growth of a player. Some players are draft bottom dwellers that light it up when given a chance and others fade into non existence. It's no different for any of the players in the top half of the draft either. Some start slow, take a few years and the light goes on and wham-o they are top notch players while others are expected to do great things out of the gate and they fall on their faces. The so called experts don't know any more than your above average Football fan so they really just need to sit down and ST*U. Just my 2 cents worth....... which is all it's good for. LOL!
-
Well..... I did say most not all. I have absolutely no issue with you disagreeing. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, especially those you actually saw him play. I just don;t think anyone to young to have actually seen him play is entitled to said opinion. Edit: My guess for your second set of stats is Aaron Schobel. How did I do? Your last two sentences are probably why he hates the Bills. LOL!!! By the time of those two losses to the Bills, He was in the twilight of his career. It was a totally different game then. He was considered decrepit by then. His body had taken such a beating like most of the players of that generation.
-
Exactly! I'm guessing that most of the comments are from people that are not old enough to have seen him play or are too old they don't remember how he played. He was an absolute monster on the field in his day. Very disruptive to offensive lines and run games. Absolutely the man is HOF.

Buffalo Bills Twitter account hacked
BigPappy replied to CorkScrewHill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What do you expect when the account password is probably "Team name" + NFL1234. ? -
The only way it could work (maybe) is if teams were trading draft picks in to the league for cap space and each pick has a predetermined monetary value. For instance, Team A calls the league office and says it wants to trade it's number 2 2nd round pick (ie overall pick number 54) in for more cap space and the league takes that pick and give team A the added cap space of what ever the predetermined cap space value is for that pick. Pick number 54 then can go "up for sale" to any other team that want to buy it. If team B wants to buy that pick, it costs them the same amount monetarily in cap space that was given in cap space to team A. If something like this were to be put into place, they would have to set limits on it as well. Something like you can only do league trades of "cap for draft pick" or "draft pick for cap" twice each off season, and you can't trade a draft pick that you have "purchased" from the league to another team. I don't see it working if teams were trading cap space for draft picks with each other. Like other said. It gets to messy. Even what I described above it a bit convoluted but it's better than letting teams go all willie-nilly with their draft picks or cap space.

Really? They guy quit on his team! The guy is a bum when it comes to coaching. I got the chance to meet him at a Bills preseason camp dinner and I can say as a person; he is a super nice guy. Very easy going, easy to talk to and very engaging when he talks football, but when you quit on your team that speak VOLUMES as to what kjind of man you really are.
