Do You Watch NFL When The Bills Aren’t On?
EmotionallyUnstable replied to Irv's topic in The Stadium Wall
Amazes me how many people on this board don’t watch other NFL football outside of the Bills. -
Sure. They dropped ones to the Bills and Eagles. Every team has lost and not shown up. It doesn’t mean they aren’t set up to be a fantastic offense. Last year battled through QB injuries and despite terrible play in the WC vs us, still almost managed to lose by -3 with a back up QB They have Pats and Chiefs up next, whose defenses are good to great. We’ll see.

Dalton Kincaid - Khalil Shakir - Elite Hands - YAC

Temper expectations. We have had the same thing play out the last few years. - Bills lack additional WR talent - Bills acquire players at position - Fans overbuy how potentially good said players are - Guys under produce by our unreasonable standards. In 12 games last year his highest performance was 3-75-1 against the Steelers. So far this season it’s last week’s 6-92. That’s good productions for a 5th rounder who’s measurable aren’t anything specials. However, these are the outliers. The ceiling he’ll bring to this team. Not the baseline or expectation as it could be with Kincaid. The only argument here is that more opportunity will create better output. Maybe. I won’t hold my breath. This team can’t wait around for that. If you have any statistics or rationale as to why you’d expect anything different, I’m all ears. -
Never realized they went back that far. Guess I could have scrolled through the pics!

That sideline Kincaid catch is elite. He is a pure hands catcher. What we’ve seen from him over of past two games should be his baseline. His ability to make tough catches in traffic, with reliability, is exactly who I thought he could be for this team. I am never expecting him to be a guy that catches a pass and houses it. He’s going to be a short ti intermediate threat to move the chains and get vertical quickly. His roughly 6-70-0.5 is about what I expect on a weekly basis. If I had one criticism with him in the pass game it’d be that he seems a bit light through contact with the rock in his hands. There has been a few times he’s been right at the sticks and has come up short. I think a year of NFL training could benefit him. Overall, I am very excited about his future. The baseline is set, but what can he become? Shakir is JAG who has made some easy catches and got upfield quickly. He blocks well on the perimeter and when mixing it up in the box. He’s a guy that’ll be around through his rookie deal, and no more. We’ll be constantly wondering why the 5th round pick isn’t contributing more…as this thread might suggest he should be…but at the end of the deal, he’s a decent role player on a contending team. That’s his ceiling IMO -
Did not know he was from the same class. Surprisingly, the Bills gave rostered 3 of these players. Yet, never at the same time. Funny.

JT said exactly what I’ve been saying all year with Allen: The most elite version of himself is finding the balance between being superhero and surgical. People criticize his check downs, quick game; etc and want to call him neutered. That is just so blatantly wrong. It’s taking free money: On the other hand we are always fearful of sugarhigh Josh, playing Superman out of structure. And he’s called reckless and undisciplined. I think what a lot of people’s frustrations are stemming from is what sometimes seems like an over correction from the offense to promote that surgical nature of the game. We say, “we’ve got Josh Allen! Can’t you just jump over someone and throw a 40 yard laser on a dime into triple coverage?” We’re so used to seeing superhero, what it is just Clark Kent, we can’t deal. We’d rather see him crash and burn because of what we how he can be, that watch the slow and methodical game that sometimes konks out. We need a 40 million dollar Superman a lot of times, but not always. As JT referrenced, when the spotlight starts to shine and we have stud opponents (Eagles, Chiefs, etc) it’ll be more important than ever to take that free money when it’s there and create those fun splash plays when it’s not.

I’m going out on a limb and guessing be doesn’t get moved. Dane Benford Lewis Elam Norman will sort out CB the rest of the year. I think keeping him is more about future contributions that current. It ain’t looking pretty, but McBeane has a history of not giving up on high draft pics (see Cody Ford) too quickly

I think the losses that @Alphadawg7 referenced matter a lot less if Allen comes out and has big games against teams such as the Eagles, Jets, Chiefs, Bengals, etc, He’s been right in the running the whole way, and the INTs and losses look bad…..wins though, with stats like he has now, in November and December, would 100% erase any bad taste that might sour an Allen MVP, Days like last night will get it done.

Week 8, Bucs v. Bills - GAME BALLS
EmotionallyUnstable replied to Freddie's Dead's topic in The Stadium Wall
What’s the opposite of a game ball? I am giving whatever it is to Siran Neal.
