  4. Still seemed to be playing at a high level last year...
  5. Pretty unrealistic...made 4 trades including a sweet offer to trade down from the Vikes for their 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Traded back into the first to get Metcalf (Traded two seconds and a 5th for a 1st, 6th and 7th) Traded back into the second to get Lindstrom (traded 2 3rds for a second and 4th) Ha ha-- its fun to be a crazy GM...Guess I picked the right Mock Draft to start sniffing glue
  6. DT or DE or doesn't matter? I think Edge over DT...but both are needs.
  7. Hometown Discount.....
  8. There should be a Bills Free Agent Signing thread and this should not be in a thread of its own...bah ***** humbug...?
  9. This is really good research. Thanks for taking the time. The "thanks" indicator didn't seem like enough recognition!
  10. Wouldn't the OL issues be more pertinent to jet sweeps than they would be to TE drags? The reason I am asking is that the OP asked if the Bills should sign two middling TE's in FA rather than spend a high draft pick on one. My point was I don't think this offense is built to scheme to a pass-game only threat tight end -- like Noah Fant. The scheme values blocking more than pass game participation by the TE. We might be agreeing here but given what I saw last year, I don't think a pass-game only threat TE like Fant would contribute much in this offense so why waste the investment.
  11. I am just curious why you think they ran more isolation plays for Isaiah McKenize after he was acquired -- jet sweeps, WR Screens, etc. then they did for the TE. A jet sweep certainly takes more time to develop than a TE drag. I get what you are saying but you are not convincing me that the Bills would use a TE picked in the first 2 rounds properly. Why waste the pick when you could end up with an OT (Taylor) and a G (Lindstrom).
  12. So to both you and Cripple, thanks for the education. An OC, scheme, and playcalling have little to do with how much the tight end gets utilized. I didn't know that before today. I didn't see many, if any, TE drags over the middle; a delayed release or much of anything resembling an iso vertical play for the tight end in Daboll's offense last year. The times Croom and Clay got opportunities they were either in the slot or wide. I am sure these plays exist somewhere in the playbook and not having a skilled TE had a lot to do with not calling them, but I question even if the Bills had a skilled player in the role, would they use him. This offense is road grader run, stretch run, WR and RB screens and vertical...not much room for a TE as a pass catcher. If you are going to spend a draft pick in the first two rounds on a TE -- Hockenson or Smith are likely the guys..they can block.
  13. Only if Daboll works him into the scheme more.....if not, its not worth wasting a high pick. There needs to be a commitment to using the TE as a weapon in the passing game every week.
  14. I keep forgetting that Joe Schoen was with the Dolphins when Phillips was drafted. I think Joe knew the situation in Miami. In fact, if you read the interview with Joe in the Buffalo News (yesterday) -- he described Miami as a place where the philosophy was "collecting players" rather than building a team. Maybe Phillips wants to be part of a "team" atmosphere in a city where fans are passionate. Like Star, Phillips seems willing to do the dirty work at the Nose. As we all know, this position doesn't get the glory plays -- it allows others to get the TFLs and stops while taking up multiple blockers...
  15. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/W/WendRy20.htm 49 starts - injured his last two years https://nesn.com/2018/04/ex-patriots-ol-ryan-wendell-had-perfect-plan-after-finishing-boston-marathon/ "ran" the Boston Marathon last year.... 13+-minute miles -- but still great stuff.
  16. Thurman Thomas.....
  17. Bryce is a local kid for me (Wake Forest, NC). Wants to be an MD some day. Aced Stanford as a human biology major while balancing football. As John Butler used to say, "He is a fine young man" -- the kind you would love to see a daughter bring home. I am really biased on both Bryce and Dexter Lawrence (same High School). Dexter's current situation and how he works and plays will make him a steal for someone.
  18. We had good luck with an underrated Oklahoma State Running Back 3 decades ago....I know I am living in the past....
  19. You are on fire as usual
  20. The NFL sweetened the pot by offering Jerrah... $20 million in a cap space bump to take him back....as good as Romo is in the booth, his buddy is that bad...
  21. Sounds like a typical workday at Pegula Sports and Entertainment...
  22. All the analytics in the world get blown up by a nut job owner......Stephen Ross = Dan Snyder
  23. I cannot imagine anything I want to see less than the Kraft tape...yikes....
  24. Hopefully, on March 13, this place will be Unrestricted Free Agent Porn...
  25. Thought Derek Anderson's perspective on Ken Dorsey was pretty detailed. Anderson played with Dorsey in Cleveland (During his best year) and then was coached by Dorsey in Carolina for 5 years (Dorsey as his position coach). https://www.buffalobills.com/news/what-can-ken-dorsey-do-for-josh-allen-s-game A lot of it is player-speak from a homer article but I liked the idea of position meetings being exchanges and quizzes instead of lectures. The Bills have the QB room to make something like this work well with a coach, a mentor, a secure backup and a budding young star.
