  1. Found this little tidbit in Rich Cimini's Jests Insider Column Interesting... http://www.espn.com/blog/new-york-jets/post/_/id/78989/jets-have-enough-chips-to-be-active-in-trade-market-antonio-brown 2. Early friction? The Adam Gase-Gregg Williams relationship will be scrutinized because of their strong personalities and different backgrounds, which makes this noteworthy: Williams recently was frustrated with Gase (and general manager Mike Maccagnan) because they balked at the idea of adding his son, Blake, to the coaching staff, according to a person familiar with the situation. They apparently came around, because Blake is expected to join the staff as a defensive coach, although the team hasn't announced the hiring of any position coaches. Blake Williams, 34, spent the past two seasons as the Cleveland Browns' linebackers coach, working under his father. After the 2017 season, Gregg called him "the best young coach I've ever had on my staff." Naturally, he wants his son on the Jets' staff, but there was initial resistance and it led to some tense moments. Blake has a reputation for rubbing people the wrong way. As a St. Louis Rams assistant, he upset people in the organization by screaming at a draft prospect in a scouting-combine interview, a source said. He also was reprimanded multiple times for sitting in the wrong seat on the team bus; he kept sitting in a seat reserved for a senior member of the staff. The Rams fired him after the 2013 season. This should be interesting.
  2. Dancing with the Stars is not in Josh's future....Hopefully about 7 Super Bowl RIngs are in Josh's future.
  3. Love this. Nice to have a young QB with a little competitive fire and a belief that he is the best....its been a few years...like 20 (#7) or 25 (#12) since the Bills actually had some bravado at the position. I can see Josh at a critical time this upcoming season get in the huddle and say something like: "Hop on my back, Hop on my ***** back, I'll lead your asses down the field to a win...." Its only taken a season and Josh has won over the locker room. QBs should lead teams...

  7. This speaks to overall cap management. Let's take Josh for example. His maximum cap hit on his rookie deal is $6.75 Million. His second contract may be an average cap hit of $30 million, so where do you get the $24 Million more without having to trash the rest of the roster. Here are my thoughts: 1) Accumulate a ton of room and don't spend it all so there is a $10-15 Million per year rollover budget- Bills can check this box 2) Put a coaching staff in place where you can grow your own - Jury still out 3) Build a class A pro and college scouting staff- there is no cap here-- load up on known scouting talent and pay them well-Pegula bucks allow this 4) Extend deals before the player has all the leverage at contract expiration - If they have good years in 2019 - Bills should begin to work on Milano, Jones, Dawkins, Phillips, Taron Johnson, Levi Wallace, and Robert Foster in the 19 offseason. They will save money by extending early rather than waiting until the player has increased leverage. 5) Sign on the rise free agents-(young but over the rookie "prove it" hump)-big established names cost big money and usually fall short of expectation. Micah Hyde -- long-time starter; great reputation but not break the bank money would be the top level I would limit myself too; otherwise look for more Jordan Poyers while scouting...recoverable injury under the radar Free Agents and turn them into high contributing starters. 6) Sign Vets on their last contract for the Interior OL and Interior DL -- this is where you can find some quick fix bargains where the athleticism doesn't wane as quickly with age. You get OG, Centers, and DTs at the end of their career that can still give you 2 or 3 years at a reduced price. Look for that this year. If you manage the system in this way--consuming Josh's second contract does not have to kill the roster. Plus I think Josh will be fair.......he knows that if he takes up too much room -- it kills the rest of the roster. He already shows signs of caring more about winning than an extra $3-4 million per year...but we will see.
  8. Totally agree....why drink it....
  9. ? Joe, try some decaf....relax a bit...
  10. You mean it was part of a plan? A process perhaps? This is so much more difficult to believe than the negative interpretation. You are just a pollyanna. ? Take off those rose-colored glasses you Buckeye sympathizer. The Bills just got: 14 years younger at OL Coach 32 years younger at WR Coach (if the report is correct and Marvez is not wrong very often) 14 years younger at ST team coach I see a head coach building a staff that's going to be around a while and having more confidence in his ability to manage a young, energetic staff that may need more input.
  11. I keep insisting that the Bills will win the Super Bowl one day....
  12. When is Cancer gonna learn that you don't mess around with Jim... #KellyTough Cancer is insidious -- I agree Sincethe70s
  13. Bucky Brooks....could have taken him off the field as soon as they figured out he couldn't play a lick and had him working on mock drafts... Great thread topic....

  16. RIP Turk. Way too young ...JP, Trent and Gibran with the Pill and Turk.
  17. Love this man.... Rich Hammond Rams defensive coordinator Wade Phillips, on his son, Wes, who is Washington's tight ends coach: "Wes is a young offensive coach who knows Sean McVay, if anyone is looking for a head coach."
  18. The ESPN roster is fine. I like the futures of Allen and Edmunds more than just about anyone else drafted this year at their position. Both are young and ascending in my opinion. On another note, I really like how the staff is developing 4-7th Round and UDFA talent. Part of it is out of necessity but the list is growing. Even if its future depth, its still helping the bottom of the roster and managing the cap... O Foster Boettger Teller All need to take a step up in 2019 but all impressed D Milano Wallace Taron Johnson (Who was really good before the season ender) If the Bills can get this number up to 12-15 (Round 4-7 talent and UDFA); add in the first three round draft choices; veteran street and Unrestricted free agents -- this is how you build a roster. The Bills are finding 3 or 4 a year -- so should be in range of that number by next year.
  19. Jeff Scott, Clemson Tigers.... https://clemsontigers.com/coaches/jeff-scott/ But its likely a pipe dream....
