  1. I started thread sunday morning stating it should be Graham shadowing Wallace for the game despite "not as fast" as other CB's and was completely disagreed with... He's a GAMER.... what he may lack in pure speed, he anticipates what WR is doing and gonna do so he doesnt get in a position to get burned. That deep pass break up on Wallace was a game changer. If Mcluvin was step for step with him, somehow Wallace would have found way to get ball and score. Would have completely changed game. The Wallace TD (mind u, coverage wasnt bad, he made outstanding 1 handed back shoulder grab to reel it in) who was in single coverage on him? Gilmore... Graham has played on playoff D's. He knows what it takes to execute. He is by far our best FA signing and should be our #1 CB who shadows teams best recieving option. Personally, i think cuz he;s had reps at safety, he is the perfect matchup for Gates who absolutely dominated that Seattle victory. Gilmore on Allen who is more physical that Wallace and not the deep threat Wallace is either. Gilmore matches up ALOT better with these kind of WR's than the burners cuz he tends to bite on some double moves and gives up some of those 50/50 balls where it seems Graham just has a knack for breaking them up.
  2. i;d rather have a guy a touch slower in Graham who READS WR's better than doesnt have to rely on catchup speed, give him a little cushion and if they throw short to him, Graham is a great tackler and can limit YAC and has the ability to stay with Wallace and actually make a play on ball. Mcluvin can go step for step with him but will whiff on a jump ball and it somehow falls in Wallace hands for long TD. Graham is by far our craftiest CB and on deep balls, Wallace should be double teamed ANYWAY, no matter who is CB. Their other WR's, Hartline, Gibson wont strike fear in any secondary and can easily be straight man coverage. 1 Safety should be close to box and help out with run game and short dup off to RB's or H-back/TE Clay and other should be playing high and shifted over a bit to Wallace's side. The key to winning this game will be limiting the big play. Wallace is only game changer who can deep u from anywhere on field. He must be watched and Graham is our safest CB. I'd love that to be Gilmore but he's been around long enough to start thinking he is a solid starting level CB but is not an all pro shutdown #1 CB team invested a top 10 overall pick in.
  3. With Gilmore coming back from a hammy, and Mcluvin struggling a bit in week 1, i really hope its Corey Graham shadowing Wallce today. Graham is used to playing in big games, and came up big last week and also has the hands to make an int if ball is up for grabs. If Gilmore was fully healthy, MAYBE i'd use him, but i dont think he's a true shutdown corner to begin with and if with a hammy injury, i fear him getting beat on a double move and pulling up lame and giving up a 65 yard score and gets roasted by Wallace. A play like that could change the outlook of the game. Outside of Wallace, (on O) no one fears me. We are much better suited to stuffing the run than NE was and have rattled Tannehill quite easily b4. If we bend but dont break again, we should be able to win this game and possibly, quite handily. Dont think it will be "blowout" but i could see us coming into 4th with 20-10 and keeping it reasonably comfortable all 4th and let the Ralph ENJOY a win that's not a game that comes down to last play. Wish i could be there, gonna come down from Florida later in yr for a game as i do every yr and also see us squish the fish in Miami on the thursday night game later this yr. Would love to see the fans in crowd be ALL over Tannehill especially in 4th quarter with us having nice lead and constantly putting pressure on him!
  4. Too early to be judging??? 3/4 of this board was ready to replace EJ up until sunday after only 10 games as a rook and 1 full offseason! Gilmore is a DB who's been average when on the field and missed plenty of time during his early career! I think he will be a above average CB but never a true #1 Shutdown CB which being drafted so high, is what fans and the team "expected" him to be. But to call it too early to be judging... this board will judge EVERYONE based on a series, let alone a season!!!
  5. I live here in South Fla and go to bills game every yr... I always sit around 50, 10-20 rows up and am usually surrounded by alot of Bills fans but i would assume lots of Bills fan like to sit on visitors sideline... But crowd is still very vocal when Bills make a play and Phins fan have VERY little passion. I try to go to 1 Bills home game a yr and when i do, if u cheer for opposing team, u get smacked talked and "bullied"!! I can be as roudy and obnoxious as i want and Phins fan are still pretty tame. Only time they get on my nerves is when they play "fins up" which is lamest and most juvenile fans rant EVER! Bills make me wanna SHOUT!!!
  6. Maybe swap him for his bro.. If reports are correct and Bills looking for CJ extension, with Freddy re-signed for next yr and Dixon signed for few, we dont need to be 4 deep at RB especially with us having Bryce inactive for 1st game. With Ravens RB situation in serious turmoil with Rice drama and having Justin Forsett and Pierce, Bryce has more upside than both of them. We could use the extra LB and they could surely use an extra option at RB!
  7. The Colts gave up a 1st for Trent... u never know and our depth is outstanding.
  8. I agree, if i had to go with 1 guy, it HAS to be EJ... for all the flack he's gotten, to go 3 and out in 1st series then Bears score in 4 plays and right off the bat we are down 7-0, i was thinking "oh boy, here we go again"... in a hostile environment, to march the team right back down the field and get that rushing TD had to feel as good for him as it did for all us fans who have waited all season, pre-season, and with all the drama feel sooooooo good! But this was a total team effort. 3 RB all contributed, Woods was awesome, and Mike Williams only had 2 catches but those 2 catches were plays we have sorely lacked from secondary WR's in god knows how long. Sammy was quiet but played OK. OL showed up, Glenn especially. The D, bent but did not break and created 3 TO's that all resulted in points. And the special teams was outstanding. Nice to have aa punter have 4/5 punts inside the 20, couple of great tackles by Easley to stop guy right in his tracks, and Dan "Money" Carpenter has to be one of the best kickers in league. He really was a phenominal find and as someone pointed out, over 16 game season, he very well could be MVP of this team. Kickers usually only get noticed when they miss kicks, but this guy is so darn accurate, that almost every kick is not only good, its almost always right down middle. Doesnt need to get "lucky" on his kicks, he bangs them right thru. What a GREAT monday morning!!! GO BILLS!!!
  9. this was a true team effort and the zebras did EVERYTHING they could to steal this game and hand it to Bears and team played thru it and won a game we ALWAYS found a way to lose! Great way to open the yr!! Tough road game vs team we really didnt match up that well against and STILL pulled it out!
  10. thats too funny... i wake up every morning at 3-4 am to piss and i can never fall back asleep on gamedays... mornings take soooooo long! LOL
  11. Awesome video!! thx! That Robey pick 6 vs Fish and the flip into endzone is my fav play!
  12. This makes most sense. If he's playing OK but nothing to "wow" but team is 3-5 or something, i dont see the need to throw in Orton. If we are 3-5 and 2 or 3 of those loses, the D played great, RB's and OL did jobs but EJ was off target, has key turnovers and basically loses us games we SHOULD have won if we had a solid game manager type like Orton would be. Then, yes. I'd pull plug and think with a stiffling D, solid weapons all around at WR and RB and a QB that makes right reads, doesnt turn ball over and can be accurate and make the main throws, this could be the difference from 6-10 and 9-7 (if the D is top notch and running game is working successfully)
  13. Being a good QB is not just numbers... Flacco looks downfield, teams respect his deep ball. Flacco has converted some great clutch plays, (3rd down passes and in crunch time in games). Flacco has a SB ring, EJ may have a toe ring...
  14. I was thinking the same thing when Marrone said he'd like a KO specialist. In order to kick off, u need to SCORE... i'd worry alot more about how to score than someone who can kick off when we may only do so either at start of game or after halftime! and the token Carp FG!
  15. I think EJ is getting VERY frustrated and trying to defend every throw he makes... Normally stuff like this occurs after at least 1st quarter of season, but the fact he's been sooooo defensive and a tad arrogant with media, considering his only "accolade" is being a 1st round (reach) pick does not earn him the right to be so dismissive and act like he's a veteran and say balls were dropped, i made right read and didnt pan out... GREAT, u made right read, but who cares if u MISSED it and had a wide open Woods over middle for HUGE gain on a 3rd down nonetheless. This is a game of execution... top QB's, even middle tier qb's dont miss very many shots like that, then have nerve to say, well.... i made right read and ball was dropped.... i think Woods has a chance at ball, but like OP said, he blew by denfender (not receiver!) and was pretty wide open for big gain on a crucial play, 3rd down which is an area we have struggled for so long. EJ has to have a bit more humility with the media and realize he's a 2nd yr qb coming off a VERY uneven rookie yr and has shown little to no progress and EVERY fan and columnist has the right to be very skeptical of his play, even it is pre-season. From his pressers, he seems to be growing more and more "annoyed" at questions and needs to start saying the bland, necessary stuff QB's say.... Say the obvious, dont throw ANYONE under the bus and understand YOU are the QB, u will get the praise if the team wins but u will get the brunt of it when we lose especially after such lackluster performances this pre-season. What's next? blaming Sammy for injuring ribs?? Well.... i dont have my 1st round toy the team gave me....
  16. Spiller NEEDS to be used as a true work horse. Like he boldly said last yr (then got crap for it!), give him the ball till he pukes! I just dont get how they constantly rotate in Freddy on 3rd and in red zone. Even tho he have really nice depth at RB, u got to have a "top dog" and he should be spelled when he NEEDS it. Not this rotating thing. Guy's like CJ need to get in rthym, constantly yanking him makes no sense. Give Freddy or Bryce a series here and there and occasionally use Freddy on 3rd downs. Freddy catches a lot of balls for us but its not like CJ has bricks for hands like Antoine Smith did for us! CJ is arguably the better receiver of the 2 and Freddy has sme nice runs after the catch and glides to elude guys but CJ has the ability to not only be as effective, he has the breakaway speed to take it to the house. With EJ now in his 2nd year, Sammy on board, M. Williams, and Woods who is now in his 2nd season with EJ, I have a feeling the playbook will be alot larger. Dont forget EJ got hurt in camp last yr, and twice in reg season. I'm not an EJ apologist in the least bit, i just think this is his make it or break it yr, along with the coaching staff with sale of team in process. Hackett did make some odd choices in play calls, but when someone eluded to passing on 3rd and 1's and 2's... these were normally VERY low risk passes, that were "easy" quick hitters, EJ and co. just missed and sometimes BADLY in the accuracy dept. EJ MUST progress and hopefully with full off season, more toys on O to play with, he can be solid. I have my doubts, cuz i dont think u can fix accuracy and EJ misses badly 2-3 times a game and a lot of time its in key situations like those 3rd and shorts. Hopefully his timing is alot better, and footwork cuz if not, its going to be a VERY long season. Even though the talent on this team is alot better and deeper than in past. U go as far as your QB takes u....
  17. At this point, GO AHEAD! any teams cut, that has knowledge of teams playbook is better option to Stool... every time he drops back to pass and i see that UGLY throwing motion i cringe...
  18. In Hopkins case, it was bad luck... They drafted him with the intention on using him from day 1. We had let go of Lindell who was our kicker for years and then Hopkins got hurt in pre season and THEN we signed Carp. Carp EARNED the job by having incredible year and has done nothing to lose it. Unfortunate for Hopkins, but after Carp's year, would u go with young kicker who's unproven or guy who was one of best kickers in league last yr? And there is no room for a KS. Too many tough cuts to make this yr and having a KS over an extra OL or DL or CB
  19. Didnt EVERYONE think same thing when Trent Green went down and grocery store boy named Kurt Warner took over???
  20. it was play before he threw TD to M. Williams
