  1. For a "Harvard" grad... he doesnt sound too smart... He doesnt even PLAY smart... He doesnt do a terrible job of reading a D, but as smart as he is supposed to be, he should be smart enough to know his lack of arm strength and accuracy (which is more of a problem than the arm strength).. his footwork is AWFUL... throws from awkard positions way to many times when he is not even pressured. Footwork is so crucial for QB. You watch guys that Brady or Peyton, who are not running QB's, their feet are always moving, Brady normally with his little jump steps and Manning constantly patting his feet. They both do so to get themselves firstly out of the traffic in pocket AND to get themselves in the best possible position to throw the football. Fitz rarely plants his front foot to get his body is best postion to hit the pass.. It's like he thinks its madden, just cuz guy is open, doesnt mean the ball automatically is gonna get there! The ONLY reason Fitz didnt have MANY more Int's is cuz so many of his incompletions are missed SOOOO badly, the WR nor the defender have a chance. Fitz is better suited to be a 3rd baseman where u can skip a throw and the 1st baseman can dig it out of the ground! The guy is USELESS, worst move is franchise HISTORY to have signed that bum to extension.. Even when he were winning... Our offensive game plan was soooooo easy to stop, Teams just didnt catch on first few weeks probably they had no fear of us... Once teams realized this guy cant throw a ball over 10 yards, Fitz magic was done...
  2. unless we bring in a coach who's philosophy is screen passes and throws 10 yards and under... Fitz should be let go... I think Fitz is WELL aware that he will not have a starting gig anywhere in the league and his best chance at seeing the field would be with a team with a very young QB for him to work with and be the clear #2... Just hope its not in B-Lo
  3. Teo would be the best pick we have made in a long time... i dont get why a MLB who plays all 3 downs, not to mention a phenominal leader, who plays with immense heart and leaves EVERYTHING he has on the field and is the QB of the D. Not 1 QB from this class is in same ballpark as Luck/ RG3. Guys like Landry Jones, Barkley, Glennon etc are NOT worth a top 10 pick.. if we could get Teo at 8, THEN trade back into late first and grab a QB, i'd be all for that.. but to reach on a QB if Teo is in on the board, would be NUTS... Our LB play this yr was a total joke.. Teo would make an instant impact and prevent alot of 2-3 yards carries from getting to 2nd level which our LB's could not do all yr.
  4. Would not be opposed to that at all... Alex has an above average arm, has ability to scramble and with a strong running game which we have and another yr of continuity on the OL (assuming we re-sign Levitre who along with Byrd are MUSTS.. it would be a good start.. Alex will be 1 HUNGRY player next yr.. To be a #1 overall pick, go through all the drama he went through it SF pre Harbaugh and then post a yr like last, and get them to NFC title game then come back this yr, and lose his job to a concussion??? The real key to offseason is fixing our LB's.. Barnett is a below average starter at best who would serve better part time player. Shepp is useless, only one with chance is Nigel... the kid can play in this league, i expect a very solid yr 2 from him with a whole offseason of being in pros and going thru offseason OTA's etc.. Plays with high energy, can really hit but was too undisciplined in his assignments which led to some big plays.. he is the ONLY prospect we have at LB... ON another note.. last night, watching the Skins vs Cowboys game, its amazing to see London Fletcher STILL out there... talk about a great career for a D2 "undersized" MLB who has been around FOREVER and stills brings it on EVERY play... We let him go YEARS ago and the guy is still playing at a high level and after last night, is in playoffs! kudos to London!
  5. u forgot to add in next yr's 1st also... this SANCHISE we are talking about!!
  6. The face should be a HUGE Square with a large question mark in it for the QB we have needed and never gotten (properly that is) in less u wanna count the first season with a retread Bledsoe cuz since Jimbo retired, we have not had a franchise QB even though they tried and missed WAY too many times..
  7. Jones suits our needs more than all the other rooks.. he is big, not very mobile but works his way around pocket and is smart kid and with good coaching (ouch in buffalo) can learn to sidestep traffic in pocket and improve on that. He has the arm to make all NFL type throws and most importantly, DOWNFIELD throws which will open the field up soooo much.. and for a sleeper... i just LOVE Jordan Lynch.. he may be small, but the kid is ELECTRIC.. can not wait to see him vs the Noles... With guys like Wilson having success at his size and alot of other young QB's running the spread option, he could be worthy of a "flyer" BUT as our "cousins".. With our history of drafting QB's.. if we take 1 1st 2 rounds.. we should be what Skins did and take a 2nd rook later on.. I'll never forget the year Heath Shuler was drafted from Tenn to Skins early in 1st round and got job taken away by 7th rounder (i think it was 7th) in Gus Frerotte!
  8. i didnt start thread for i like Geno.. i still like Barkley over em all.. off yr or not.. 2nd choice would be Landry Jones. I wouldnt go QB in 1st tho, i;d get Vick and draft a 2nd round QB where u may be able to get one of the guys that drop
  9. playing in Yankee Staduim in 33 degree weather and nasty conditions as to if he could be a possible candidate for us..
  10. yes... BUT there is no RG3 or Andrew Luck or anyone NEAR that level... Skins picked RIGHT year to ante up!
  11. Bringing in a team legend sure worked nicely for the Broncos.... right away, it would give us a "mentor" for whichever rook QB the front office brings in.
  12. more impressed with Brooks EACH play... him and Gilmore and hopefully re-signing Byrd will be a REALLY nice secondary especially since they r starting to weed out Wilson 4 Searcy who is by far a better player
  13. Greg Schiano isnt doing so bad this yr and college style offenses are being used more and more each year in NFL
  14. Shaw would be an excellent choice.. It's come to the point where this organization needs an overhaul... teams front offices are getting YOUNGER and younger... It's a trend that is happening in EVERY facet of the world let alone football.... technology has done so much... the fact that i can log on to NFL rewind and i have every sport package on directv and i'm 32 and work from home most of the time, i watch/ study sports 24/7... If a fan REALLY wants to become a "true connoiseur" these days, the info is out there... I watch the movie Moneyball all the time.. I love Billy Beane... His way of approaching a game where his hand is tied behind his back a hell of a lot more than a GM in NFL cuz of the craziness in MLB with no cap and guys like Arod making like half of what a few teams make! NFL, it CAN happen where u take a team from cellar to contender in 1-2 years... Look at the Rams back when they discovered Warner... It took an injury to Green at the end of the pre season and then a grocery clerk or whatever he was, becomes an instant sensation and takes over NFL.. BUT... he had Vermeil but most importantly, Martz.... Martz was way ahead of his time... Teams obviously caught on... but i sure would take a run like that after what us Bills fan have suffered through! LOL! Chip Kelly would take this modern day spread offense, and turn it into a Juggernaut... The KEY to it is a lighting fast RB... those DO NOT grow on trees.... CJ has a very unique skill set for a RB. I hate comparing anyone to Barry Sanders cuz he was just in a league of his own but CJ is lightning fast and cuts on a dime. His 1st step is SOOO fast.. It's a TRAGEDY he doesnt get 25-30 touches a game... A guy like Chip Kelly would take a guy like CJ to LEGENDARY heights (obviously health depending cuz with CJ's style, he's 1 low shot to the knees from a Mcgahee type injury g-d forbid!). Just picture in 1 of those SLICK Oregon uni's that change every week in Barner or Lamichael James role from last yr.. Could u imagine the numbers he would have had at a school like Oregon instead of Clemson?? It's fun to dream sometimes! LOL There is nothing saying a guy is "def" going to NFL... But ALL fingers point towards it... Chip likes the spotlight, he brought a spotlight to a school like Oregon. There is NOTHING saying he would come to Buffalo. ALL i said was i WISH it would happen... and to the dude who said WHY start a thread like this??? Are u kidding me????? have u not read some of the threads in here??? There is nothing offensive, attacking other ppl or anything like that. As a Bills fan, and someone who watches sports 24/7, and seeing Chip's career at Oregon, i thought it would be cool to see if OTHER Bills fans enjoyed watching Oregon as much as i do and if they thought his style football would work in NFL and if they would or would not like to see that for THEIR team in Buffalo... I'm SOOOOO sorry if a thread about Chip Kelly is sooooooooo awful for u... There are PLENTY of other threads Purple Haze. If u do not like the topic, reply to one u do.
  15. He is NFL bound and even though there is next to 0% chance of it happening, it would be the PERFECT fit. Personnel wise... His offense is based on pure speed and quick decisions... It is NOT a offense thats truly built around the QB like every other... This is not Spurrier's "fun & gun" which was brought into the NFL when times were also VERY different... Nowadays, if u flip game to game and see teams on offense, most teams run a ton of plays out of a form of a "spread" offense... Back in Spurrier regime in the NFL, Offenses were alot more conservative.. It was unheard of for teams to play so much 3 or 4 WR sets, no FB's, etc.. With the way the league is going, with all the edges going to the offense, putting up 30 a game especially in a division with the Pats is a MUST.. The #1 asset for Chip's offense is a TOP tier RB with BLAZING speed... We got that covered with CJ who would put up Madden type numbers in Chip's offense. The beauty of that O... is it works no matter who the QB is.... Obviously it is more dangerous this yr with Marriotta at the helm but he's just a freshman and he's out played all his successors and by the end of his career at Oregon, will probably hold EVERY record in school history! Fitz... lets not even go there.... just saying his name makes me gag... He along with a GOOD chunk of the staff should be terminated. Ralph went out and did something all of us as fans were dying for years... SPEND in FA... With all the crap Mario gets.. He is still a MONSTER and is not the reason the D and the team is not winning ball games. It is evident that the wrist really was an issue and instead of considering the guy "tough" for PLAYING through an injury that was effecting his play, he got ragged on... Since the bye week he has been EVERYTHING he could have hoped for.. Dareus gets a mulligan for this yr cuz of his brothers death... He is starting to play better and will NOT be a bust.. I know a lot on here have been beating up on this guy but he will be in pro-bowls within 2 years (if pro-bowls continue to exist!). This team is NOT as far away from being a legit playoff squad... If we brought in Chip, he automatically would go after and make sure to find the "right" QB for his system... Again... for his O, we would not need the "prototypical" QB.. We need a QB that understands the spread and has wheels to avoid the rush and tuck it away and run. If we decided to draft one and needed a guy to "run the show" till the kid is ready, the PERFECT QB and he will most likely be not overly pricey is Vick.. Say what u want about Vick... but u put him in an O like that, the doesnt require him to hold onto the ball like Andy Reid's does, and u have CJ in the back field... we lead league in rushing.... Our OL has come together pretty well and the only position we probably need an upgrade is RT and depth. WR's wouldnt need much work.... SJ13 is a great possession WR. The guy who would REALLY blossom is TJ Graham... We would need to probably need to use a top 3 pick on a WR but no matter who is coaching/ running the team, we will still need another WR. D. Jones is NOT a starting caliber WR. Every catch the guy makes, ANYONE would have, Outside of the Pats game early this yr which was an EASY catch and run that again... ANYONE would have taken to the house on that play cuz ball hit in stride and D was no where to be found. The only "impressive" catch i can remember was LAST yr when we beat the Pats... that catch down the sideline was a thing of beauty but other than that, has he EVER caught a ball to bail out the QB on a bad throw?? Anyways, to sum up... Chip Kelly WILL be in the NFL soon enough.. its a Pipe dream to think he would come to Buffalo but would it EVER BE FUN TO SEE IT OCCUR!! RC signing out!
  16. I for one LOVE the thursday night games.. Listening to Mayock break things down is so much better than the CBS crews... His best analogy to C.J was when he said how C.J. LOVES to pop it outside and try and hit the corners and outrun everyone... With his speed, he has that extra gear that he can take it to the house on every touch if given the space. He pointed out, he's STILL a little too quick to pop it outside which is true, during the thurs game, cuz its nationally televised, more breaks in action and more commentary. Mayock is the best draft guru out there and i love how he references how guys were at their pro days and in college. Spiller has the talent to be an elite RB and is on verge of it. He's a lot more physical a runner this yr compared to last.... Last yr, he was not breaking tackles like he is now.. He's running with MUCH more authority. I think a lot of that is due to playing with Freddy... Freddy is the best Bill i've seen at getting that extra 2-3 yards at end of play by slithering and twisting then reaching ball out for extra yard. He has not been anywhere near as efficient this year but i think CJ sitting so much during rookie year taught him a TON.. He wasnt ready for the NFL.. Again, he popped EVERYTHING outside and was getting brought down by 1st guy... Don't forget, when a RB like CJ down to the NFL, their WHOLE LIFE they dominated at EVERY level.... It was like tying to his shoes... see a bit of traffic, cut outside, turn corner and break a big play... in HS those plays went to TD's with regularity, at Clemson, same kinda thing... They speed of the game is just soooooo much faster in NFL and he HAD to learn to take what D gives u.... He is by far the most exciting player we have had in a LOOOOOOOOOONG time! Every game he was at least 2 WOW plays... Very humble kid, with GREAT work ethic, NEVER bitched about playing time and in this league you MUST have 2 starting caliber RB's... If we played a better team, or shall i say a REAL QB, Tannenhill is NOT gonna be a "player" in this league for long... He is JP Losman Jr. A&M is REALLY missing him arent they???? Johnny Football is winning games and putting up huge numbers while Tannenhill just lost games.... Did u guys watch "Hard Knocks"? The guy didnt even know WHAT DIVISIONS teams are in?????? ARE U KIDDING ME???? U PLAY IN THE NFL.. I DONT CARE IF U R A ROOKIE... MY 12 YR NEPHEW CAN TELL ME EVERY TEAM DIVISION BY DIVISION! Anyways.. to close, CJ is a lethal weapon... Chan's play calling especially in red zone is beyond frustrating.. The fact Miami had FIFTY total yards in 1st half and we we didnt sniff the endzone O. I dont get why CJ doesnt even get on field in red zone.. He is much more physical than in years past and aside from that AWFUL fumble during home game vs Pats.. (SJ13 gave me 50 yard lines seats and i flew up from Fl for game and got to meet SJ13 saturday night! was AWESOME!). CJ should get touches in red zone as well.. Our lack of red zone efficiency would have KILLED us vs most teams last night... the fact we HAD to come out with not 1 but 2 stops on D in last few minutes is nuts... If Fitz cashes just 1 of those FG's into TD;s, the game would have been a JOKE.. GO BILLS! RC
  17. Richie got passed around tonight by Marcel and Kyle like a Kardashian sister!
  18. A spread O suits our O, just not our QB.... the offense is SO easily fixed with a REAL NFL QB... I am NOT a fan of Chan as head coach... Ina perfect world, we hire a real head coach and demote Gailey to where he BELONGS... an OFFENSIVE CO-ORDINATOR... this WILL NOT occur and i'm a realist and gotta work with what we got... Our WR's are an average unit but could be MUCH better with a QB that can actually complete a 4 YARD PASS AND HIR GUYS IN STRIDE let alone a ball over 15 yards.. Fitz's inaccuracy has SAVED us a lot of int's cuz he;s missed SO bad, the D didnt even have a shot of some of his ground balls or his token 2-3 pass batted down at LOS... There are a TON of QB;s coming out this year.... No one is gonna be rated as highly as Luck and RG3 were last yr. WE MUST TARGET A 1st ROUND QB.. i dont care if we reach, but MUST be done... The reason so many "younger" QB's have come in and fit in rookie yr is cuz the offenses in NFL use multiple WR or spread type attacks that a lot of these kids are familiar with in college. I for one do NOT think Geno Smith is in same class as Barkley.. Barkley is as close to last yr's top 2 as there is.. A lot of ppl are down on him, i like him MORE than last yr cuz he knew he needed another yr of work and even though he has not had the year he had last year but he's got all the intangibles and is not scared to throw DOWNFIELD... I would love to land Klein... He would be the PERFECT QB for this squad... makes VERY good decisions and plays with a chip on his shoulder and has leader written ALL over him.. I could not care less about what he "can't" do.. I care what he CAN DO. WIN...... He will not be a top 10 pick and kids like Bray and Wilson will get huge post season boost like guys like Ponder and Tannehill did with strong showings at combine and workouts.. BUT.... they are not facing a live D... Rob Johnson was probably one of the BEST practice QB's we have ever had.. prototypical size, GREAT arm strength, good mobility etc.... Difference is, on sundays there are some HUNGRY DL's trying to take your head off and guys like Johnson, JP, Trent, may have been GREAT in practice and workouts cuz they DID have good arms and accuracy, but with a D in their face... well, we all know the results.... I am NOT a Tannehill fan... He's got talent but he's dumb as bricks... Did u watch "hard knocks"? how can ANY player in the NFL NOT know which teams play in which division??? rookie or no rookie... i knew that stuff at 6 or 7 years old... Look at A&M WITHOUT him... Johnny Football is a redshirt Freshman and just beat ALABAMA... a team ppl no longer than a week ago, were saying could BEAT an NFL team! I doubt he have a shot at Barkley and no know will really know where Klein projects... He is a "Tebow" type that CAN play in NFL.. i would LOVE to see this kid in a Bills uni next yr!
  19. It has been stated by EVERY fan, even Buddy came out and said "before i'm done here, i want a Franchise QB in place." Trust me, i am by NO MEANS a fan of our front office.. Just listen to Chan or Buddy in press conferences compared to REAL GM and coaches.. Anyways.. The only way this offense has chance to succeed to obviously a change at QB... I am new to boards but not new to being a hardcore Bills fan. I;m even buds with SJ13 now. i provide all his eyewear! We NEED A REAL SPREAD offense type QB.. I love Barkley even though hes more a "regular" QB but we wont have a chance at him unless we lose out and as many of u guys who are sooooooo negative... Why r are a fan if u cant stop bitching? U pick a team... live with it! Whether they win it all or suck, if you are a TRUE fan, u dont EVER quit on your team! Now that's said. There are so many QB's that come from a spread and put up Madden type numbers.. That sort of QB that can make plays with his feet too if the play breaks down is what he we need. I thought the signing of VY was great at first... But he didnt show very much and if he couldnt beat out TYLER THIGPEN for backup QB... thats awfully sad.. I think if we approach draft PROPERLY and get a MOBILE QB that has cojanes to throw a ball downfield to keep D's honest.. is what would change this team.. The D def. needs some upgrades on the backend but with what we spent on DLINE... i highly doubt any major funds are spent there considered what he got tied up there plus the talent (even tho it has not translated well on field..) I just do not comprehend how they can continue to think fitz is anything more than a solid QB2 that can spot start here and there if starter is dinged up.. QB can be unorthodox... couldnt care less... but a guy like Klein who probably wont stand out at combine is a WINNER and has mastered the spread.. He reads D's better than almost any QB in nation and considering how much dinking and dunking we do... Accuracy wont be an issue like when Fitz throws a 3 yard screen and STILL cant put ball in right place and rarely ever hits someone in stride.. Our WR's are NOT that bad.. CJ is real deal and Freddy should be #2 but week by week, they will give CJ more and more chances.. He's BY FAR our best and most dangerous player that any time hes on field, the D must account for him.. There are plenty of other QB's but a guy like Klein who reminds me of a "New school" Flutie just knows how to win and is a better pure passer than Tebow EVER was in college.
  20. New to boards been reading for years. OP is correct,.... We DO have their #... 9-1-1 ...
