We will definitely have to find one from someone's cuts. The good thing for Pettine's day in terms of CB play. Its a lot more of man to man. So if we do sign someone quickly. It wont take them as long to adjust than a LB or a DL that have tons of blitz packages and stunts. That would require more time with team to learn role in each set. Really hoping we can find a savvy vet who can come in and start. A few ppl mentioned Winfield, he could be a very solid option and he is also very stout vs run for a CB. Hopefully Seahawks dont keep him!

JP had all the tools, but lacked the mental aspect of job. However, having him throw some bombs with speed we have on outside would have been fun to watch. EJ is not playing this week and doubt Kolb will, let alone practice... u can not go into final pre-season game with just 1 QB and especially for practice. A QB will be signed TODAY. This would be a great move. Had plenty of zip on his throws last night and would actually be a better backup to EJ than Kolb and Tuel cuz he can run read option. Anyone else think the feed of the game was in slow motion when Kolb was running read option and Tasker thought CJ had ball but Kolb kept it on keeper??? Those are plays designed for QB to pick up BIG yards if play fake goes right, which it did.. EJ would have had min. a 1st down and possibly more. Kolb picked up like 4 and had huge lane that closed up slowly but had D had time to get there cuz Kolb just cant take out fast enough. Kapernick/ RG3 and Wilson were KILLING D's on that exact same play last yr. I'd rather have a backup with read option possibilities and keep Tuel as "developmental" 3rd string QB. Too bad Seneca Wallace got snagged. He would have been a perfect back up QB for us.

I'm hoping we cut ties with Kolb experiment and sign another vet QB asap. Even if he COULD stay upright... he's useless. I'd rather either bring in another vet, or if EJ is healthy, keep him and Tuel
