The wildcat is DEAD with read option now out there. What is the point of running a wildcat when teams are assured u are running the ball and D's have learned how to deal with it. The best way is is the wide 8 that Detroit actually runs when they have the DE further out and which pushes the play inside where the box is stacked. MUCH smarter to run a read option where u actually have a QB not as a gimmick WR out wide that can only be used in some funky play or even off the field. With read option with a mobile QB is by far the smartest form of wildcat and why it wont just be a fad cuz its been successful in college forever and no one ever tried it really in NFL. During MNF telecast, Gruden was talking in his time coaching (which isnt too long ago) the whole league figured it would NEVER work so no one really even tried it till Phins started with the wildcat which was a crazy fad that didnt last very long. The read option is the future of NFL. There will always be regular drop back passers, but franchise QB's who are pure dropback passers, even those who have scrabbling ability like Luck and Rodgers are VERY rare to find with combo of arm and most importantly, poise in pocket. Much easier finding a Terelle Pryor type, who was a supplemental pick who can easily come in and make a game of it just by being such a threat to run that teams must stack box but cuz they guy is still a QB, he can make the throws if u over commit to run and leave too many guys in 1 on 1 where all it takes is WR to make a play and u got a monster play. Zone read is the present and future of the league and i'm real happy with a kid like EJ back there who will be able to be both a pocket passer and can definitely run the read option. Cant wait till sunday... Last week was such a wild game but we truly never really had a chance to get in a "zone" on O other than the opening drive of 2nd half in which we scored very quickly. Hopefully our 3rd down conversion rate is a lot better as well as ball security and really see what Hackett has in store this for us. Gonna be tough task with a beast in Cam as dual threat QB. Hopefully we will cause some turnovers. Guy i'm most afraid of is Kuehly who i think would definitely have been ours is Panthers didnt select him 1 pick b4 us 2 drafts ago. The guy is already the best MLB in the league and they did a phenominal job in shutting down Seattle who has been one of best running teams in yrs. Wilson did throw for 300+ tho.. so hopefully EJ can take advantage of secondary and hit some deep balls! GO BILLS!!!!! ALWAYS BILLIEVE!!

Geno can not play when the weather is bad. He showed it vs Syracuse in bowl game and his picks last night were VERY underthrown. Mayock is by far the best guy in booth to break down plays and how Geno missed his #1 read in 1st half in Hill over the middle when Jets put their first good drive together and Geno got happy feet for no reason, no pressure yet and rolled out when Hill was in slot and got over middle and safety didnt pick him up, Geno had the easiest TD pass of his life and missed the read and ended up throwing ball someone else for incompletion. They settled for FG. EJ is by far a better prospect and will be far superior in red zone. EJ threw 2 beautiful TD's in red zone vs same D last week and did not look fazed at all out there. Geno has all the talent in world, i;ve watched almost all of his college games. His offense was a very easy 1 to run and put up huge numbers. EJ is much better suited for NFL and once they open up playbook a little more for him, i think we will be good enough to compete for a playoff spot this yr. This week and next week are crucial games. We MUST hold our own at home and beat Carolina and be able to stop a mobile QB. We have had trouble with mobile QB;s and Cam worries me, but i also think they will turn it over a few times. If EJ can play mistake free football we win this game and then we get a big matchup with Jets and prove why EJ was better pick that Geno! Cuz Morningweig LOVES to throw. Even though his QB was underthrowing pass after pass and when he did hit WR's they were dropping like crazy. Gates should be cut the second Kerley is healthy cuz he was filling in for his role in the O.

EXACTLY.. the D kept us in the game. The TD drives were both on EXTREMELY short fields, both after fumbles. And the not only did we get a ton of penanties, they came at AWFUL times.. Wiping out some big first downs. Early on the 19 yard pass to Woods over middle and the worst one had to be the hands to face on that 3rd down pass to Freddy where he made the catch Stevie missed (and it was a harder catch and he;s a RB not our "#1 WR".. If we play more disciplined and open up the O a bit more this and sustain drives and hopefully get Woods more looks in passing game. He is flat out a better player and much better after the catch than SJ13

AND... Was there to stuff the run on 3rd down which was the key play and the play we used to ALWAYS allow to score. Then on next play he recovered the fumble but without that key 3rd down stop, there is no 4th down fumble to recover. He was not perfect but def. showed he's a play maker. I think he will develop into a very solid mike.

I'm just hoping Marrone and Hackett were tuned into the game.... There is NO REASON the Bills cant do same thing... CJ is as good as Shady and has even a similar running style. They are the 2 best RB's in space. EJ will those quick reads and use Woods as the main guy with the bubble screens. Much better after the catch than SJ13. SJ13 would play the role of #2 WR. The Bills really didnt have the ball that much to get any real momentum on O. But watching Kelly's O last night made me wish we had pushed harder to get him. Vick is old and fragile... EJ is the PERFECT QB for that O. Hopefully we wont see as many bunch sets vs. Carolina and Hack took some notes last night... GIVE CJ SPACE and spread out the field... and get WR's involved with quick hitters which will open up deep passes later. Woods can be phenominal in Desean's role. I've loved the guy his whole college career and he is very much like the Reggie Wayne to Andre Johnson at the U... Lee got all the pub but Woods still constantly made plays as well. Stevie doesnt have the speed to do anything on screens and should be the slot guy (which he is) and work over middle cuz the 1 thing the Eagles have, is TE's that can run. Ertz will be a big threat as yr progresses and Celek made some nice plays. Chandler is so slow its scary. We should have 3 WR and both CJ and Freddy on field in key situations. Vick is not the smartest QB in terms of decision making and made the O look easy. You put EJ out there and stack 2 guys basically on top of each other on both sides on field... impossible for D to stack the box and CJ will just explode. This is not the hardest O to manage as a QB.. U have to know when to hand it off and when to pull it back and EJ has legs to do so and can work well with the quick reads in passing game.

We did wear the Blue jersey all preseason. I like the white on white the best... such a good look.. That should be our home uni and the white on blue pants on road. Have the Blue jersey as alternate.

And no TD's in 2nd half. On that last drive, those completions were incredible throws and perfectly caught balls. The coverage was there, Brady just threw perfect passes and Amendola made some insanely great catches. 1 even skinned off 1 od DL fingers and he STILL caught the ball and a 3rd down. If this dude stays healthy, he is BETTER than Welker. His hands are superior and is faster.

I was praying we would take AJ that yr... Its so rare to find a WR so pro-ready with his sjill sey and speed. He is the BEST WR in the NFL. Megatron gets more pub but this dude is money....

You are nuts to even consider starting a team 4th WR. He is so raw right now... a true homer... Goodwin will catch 30-35 passes all yr. He's very FAR from being a full time WR and was a 3rd WR even in college. The only Bill who is a must start is CJ. Stevie is a #3 at best fantasy WR and if u are gonna take a flyer on someone in late rounds, Woods is the guy to go for. By end of yr, Woods may overtake Stevie as the #1 on team. But GOODWIN??????? He's a returner and will see the field in only 4 WR sets or for a specific package for a play or 2 in 3 WR sets.

Cuz in soccer they don't wear HELMETS... very dangerous for lightning. Same for guy who posted about the fans.. Players are at a much higher risk cuz of their helmets.

I heard him as well and for a guy that is so good at breaking plays down and go into detail about everything, he sures does not seem to have a "feel" for how things are diff here. He said expect a VERY conservative, game manager type game from Manuel and Geno. While i aree with perspective on Geno, i think the Jets play very conservative which does not suit Geno's skill set... Jaws was so off on Manuel, not even funny.. Our offense will not be vanilla... Whether we win or not, this offense is will going at fast pace no huddle attack.. How in the world can that be viewed as "conservative, game manager"... I understand there will be a lot of throws that by NFL standards is very basic in us throwing a bunch of 3 step drops and throw quick slants that tend to only go 5-10 yard downfield, but doing that, letting WR try adn get some YAC then lineup and get next play off when play clock at 20, is by NO MEANS a game manager form of attack. Even tho he didnt show it in preseason, we will have down field throws with the speed we got on outside, even if its on a 5 step drop, that ball can be 30-40 yards downfield by the time it comes down (hopefully in Bills hands!). We will probably have 5-10 plays at least in read option. Again, this shows how little "experts" follow our squad! Either way, who cares, once we play a Pats, if we can make a game of it which i think is strong possibility, experts will finally see what we have known since OTA's. This O will be a fast paced, modern day K-Gun with some read option and TONS of speed at the skill positions. Not many teams can say they have the speed we will have on the field on plays when CJ is on field when we have 4 WR sets with Goodwin, Woods who I think will overtake SJ13 as our #1 even tho i LOVE Stevie, by end of yr and TJ i think will have impact on games stretching the field. Dont know about that... His heart isnt here and this is huge concern. Even if he plays, and doesnt play as well as he should, i doubt it would deter teams from wanting him cuz they know the talent is there and will attribute it to him not being happy or the foot. 1 thing is for sure, if we trade him we better get a PLAYER not just a pick for him. With Leonard signing and 2 rookies we drafted this yr, we dont need a safety and Leonard is used to this D and will probably start over the rookies this week if Byrd doesnt play. We must a starting caliber corner or an extra OL plus a pick for him. Honestly, i loved this guy. Its terrible how this has happened. We have the cap space and there is no reason they didnt re-sign him to a long term deal in off-season and he would have came to camp a "happy camper"! It's too bad business got in the way but at this point, with a new regime in there, i'd say get rid of him and do so smartly and get best deal possible to have guys that want to be here and can produce. Hopefully some Safeties(go down this week in opener and they will reach out to us to try and get Byrd. If we are making the calls, teams will try and take advantage of situation and try and steal him from us for way under his value.

For sure... We may give up a few long plays, but better off trying to cause some havoc, and force a turnover or get a few sacks than have him eat us apart on 6-7 min drives with him going 8-9 for 70 yards all on balls in the air less than 5 yards! Key will be EJ starting hot and picking up 1st downs so we can jump into up tempo and hit them early a fast paced drive. Force them to NEED to score in high thirties to beat us.. We need to put up some points and with CJ running ball and EJ playing smart back there, we can control pace of game espeically if D gets pressure up front

This is it right here... When u lay off Brady's WR, all he does is either throw a WR screen which is like a running play for them and is an easy 4-5+ yards each time. He will do that all day if u lay off which means u have to press coverage and blitz him. but blitz him smartly.... Lots of stunts, moving around so he doesnt automatically know where the pressure is going to come from . I hope we blitz Kiko right up the gut, cuz outisde rushers will shrink pocket for Brady and Kiko coming in like a ticking timebomb to pop him, is the best way to approach blitzing him. Right up the gut and with Dareus READY for football this yr and Kyle in middle or even Branch for that who is good at taking on blocks will free up holes to Kiko to get through and get pressure and hopefully a sack and some hits on Marcia!
