  1. takes 2 deep shots now.. Nothing to lose. Hopefully we can hit one or get a PI call. on 2nd and 35, cant chip your way to a 1st down
  2. 1st and 30 now... As if we didnt have enough problems on O... now we get penanty bug!
  3. He did get nailed, but that;s still a throw he HAS to make to be successful.. QB get hit, he didnt get hit before he threw ball, Woodsy was wide open and would have been 20+ yarder
  4. way behind Woods.. Would have been a nice gain and a HUGE 3rd and long conversion
  5. Spikes got beaten bad there after Aaron Williams WARNED him about the coverage!
  6. How bout 90+ yard drive to score 1st TD for 1's
  7. Gotta LOVE Roby... gonna be a fun player to watch this yr.
  8. TE is by far weakest link of team. I wish we went to more 4 WR sets or 3 WR, 2 RB sets and take TE off field in passing situations.
  9. what a pity... Was looking like nice drive.. At least it wasnt EJ's fault. Chandler slipped on timing route, easy pick for D.
  10. I'd really like to see Gilmore have a good game. Been scaring me as our "shut down corner" just cuz he was such high draft pick. He's hasnt produced like one yet so hoping he was nice showing today along with rest of 1st unit secondary. DL needs to get to the QB and continue shutting down running game and 2 TD's from 1st string O... 1 is not enough, we need a good showing from the 1's this week, that way, Marrone will feel comfortable sitting them ALL next week, and get into regular season healthy. (sammy's injury is not something that will linger for reg season. Happened at good time and has prenty of time to heal up for Chicago.) Hope Woodsy and Williams and Hogan look in sync with EJ today
  11. With all the off season junk he went through, i am still wondering if he will get hit with a suspension?? It seems as though he violated the leagues personal conduct rules. Does anyone have a link or know if there is a suspension looming and if so, why is this not talked about 24/7! Thanks in advance
  12. Goodwin doesnt return punts for us. I hope he's our primary KO returner but with the ball pushed up those 5 yards, KO's that get returned are alot less common. I agree with MikeMac that Goodwin is a more viable WR option that Roscoe. Goodwin has that straight line speed and Roscoe was more a juker, which sometimes resulted in disaster plays and "what was he thinking" moments. Goodwin runs better routes and i also agree he's more suited for those quick slants, WR screens, go routes and comeback routes but if injuries happen in front of him and he has to move up depth chart, he is alot more capable of being a "regular" WR than Roscoe ever was. My concern is that he is brittle like Roscoe. Even when he was healthy last yr, it seemed like when he was getting playing time, he seemed to come off limping alot, take hard falls diving for balls that are uncatchable. I love his talent and think he can bring extra dimension to Bills O but just concerned he will have similar nagging injures like Roscoe did and never be able to fully make an impact.
  13. i watched a lot of U. Texas games and he was very under utilised but during EVERY telecast, they would make a reference or 2 to how they need to use this guy's speed. He was not as productive in college as Roscoe was, but i think he is gonna be a much of a WR in NFL that Roscoe did. BUT... Can this kid stay on field. If it's not 1 thing its another... Can we really rely on him being a 16 game NFL WR even if it is as a #4 "speed guy" role. He looked awesome on that slant pass he caught last week but got NAILED and flew like 5 yards from the hit! He definitely makes team over guys like Featherstone Graham, but i just have that feeling that during telecasts of Bills game we will hear them make a reference to his "olympics" speed and how they need to look for him, and then for him to wind up with 1 fly route a game and then pull up lame with a hammy, a quad or something in game 3 or 4 and this be a recurring theme as was with Roscoe. If Goodwin can stay on field, he can be a real nice extra toy for the offense when we go 4 and 5 WR sets or inserted in lineup in some 3 WR sets, especially in between the 40's where a deep shot is most likely cuz a FS has to keep an eye on him if he burns the CB out of the gate like he did few times last yr and some deep balls. Hopefully he can stay healthy and grab 35 catches and average 15+ a catch with 2-3 TD's this yr and be a distraction to teams safeties IF he can stay healthy. I just dont see him being able to be healthy for a full season but i hope i'm wrong cuz when he has been on the field, he's played well, has solid hands and has done very nicely in "regular" WR routes like that slant last week and he;s great on fly routes and comeback routes cuz DB's give him cushion and makes it easier for him to come back to the football.
  14. I'm always looking 4 someone to go to games with. I do only get premium seats which can be 250-300 per though, but I sit around 50, 5-10 rows up on Bills sideline everytime... Let me know if u r interested! I dont know many Bills fan down here and i live in Boca Raton which is approx 45 min North of Stadium.
  15. It's a great article , thx for posting! BUT... alot of the pre-snap stuff, is EJ's biggest problem. Against a "vanilla D" all that may be true. But in the case of ALOT of D's nowadays (except for Wanny when he was here), teams use stunts, fake LB blitz and drop him back and rush a CB instead etc... EJ has to do better job of recognizing where the hot read is which was big problem last yr and do better job of reading the D pre snap, especially on 3 step drops. That near int close to goaline where he telegraphed pass to Sammy and LB dropped back into coverage rather than blitzing and ball hit LB right in stride. EJ did not recognize the coverage and if LB doesnt drop that ball its a turnover and with a lot of room to run after the int... The play hasnt been dissected enough because it was JUST a batted ball... cuz it was pre season, i would have rather it been a pick 6 so it STICKS in EJ's memory what a bonehead pass that was
  16. Been waiting for someone to say this... As much as i love Freddy as a leader and for what being one of the very few bright spots in 1 of darkest eras for us, i completely agree. What i'm really hoping is that we use ALOT of 2 RB sets with no FB, no TE and 3 WR. Have CJ, AND either Freddy, dixon or Brown on field. Like alot of posters have been saying about OL, put best 5 out there.. Chandler is awfully slow, is not a mauler in run game (that hold on friday was UGLY and lazy play when CJ had the corner anyway and he yanked DE/LB down so blatantly ref had to call it. I'd rather use a 2nd RB who is a better checkdown threat anyway than Chandler and i think its always better to have that extra blocker in backfield to protect the QB than a TE who may chip block then go run his route. Freddy would be great in these kinda situations as he has great hands and good instincts and is very solid on blitz pickups. If Freddy is lined up in backfield in regular situations, he puts very little fear in a D cuz even if gigantic hole opens up, he cant hit the HR. Brown or CJ are gone if they get the corner or gapping hole. Dixon is much better suited for us as a battling ram for short yardage and i can also see Dixon as a good #2 RB/HB if we did use the 3 WR and 2 RB package. We need to keep our most dangerous weapons on the field and i personally agree, i think Brown AND Dixon would be better #2 and 3 RB's than Freddy. I'd love to see CJ get 16-18 carries with 3-4 catches a game and Brown gets 7-10 carries with Dixon getting 3-5 and Freddy still getting time on the field, but in a much reduced role. Wont be great for fantasy players, but if we use alot of 2 RB sets and have 2 threats on the field that can touch ball rather than a true FB like Summers/ Rodriguez (except in goal-line) , then we are not using our strengths. We have a VERY deep backfield like Pittsburgh did for years when they were 3-4 deep.
  17. All Henderson has shown is potential in camp, and 1 good showing in 1st pre-season game... Cordy (if healthy) has shown he's capable of being a possible PRO_BOWL level LT which teams SALIVATE over.... We should just be happy to know that we got a guy in the 7th who was a top notch national recruit and showing thus far, the potential is there and that he will continue to work very hard and make himself impossible to cut and make team. As they mentioned numerous times in 2nd half, this line is deeper than it has been in years. We will have some battles along the line for starting gigs as well as some tough cuts to make with possibly guy or 2 we cut, end up getting picked up somewhere else. Been YEARS since we had depth on OL. That's good problem to have!
  18. I was very surprised too that they only gave him 2 series and the 2nd one basically started in red zone after the sack, strip, fumble recovery. He only had 1 regular drive...
  19. He's very lucky that on the red zone telegraphed pass on 3rd down where he just stared at Sammy and route was slow to develop and NY LB got his hands up to break it up wasnt a pick 6... a slant is supposed to be a "quick hitter" especially inside the 5 like that... If Sammy does get a quick release, he should at the VERY LEAST have glanced to option B and if that wasnt open, check down to RB or run it in. Obviously its pre season and him running in a crowded red zone situation is by FAR the last thing he should do, but he still seems very slow with his reads. Hopefully the extra pre season game as well as more time in practice and he can speed things up. The arm strength is there, but the poise and "it factor" are not. On another note, best play of game on O, was when Tuel went zone read and kept the ball and if was regular season would have turned up field where he could have picked up at least another 10-15 yards. If that were EJ, that could have been a TD. I REALLY hope we do more or this. Even with EJ's knee issues last yr, if he is gonna be an above average QB in this league, He MUST use his legs. It's a valuable aspect of his game and if he does this, it opens up more running lanes for our RB's and keeps D's thinking and will have to respect him pulling ball ball and jaunting untouched downfield for 1st downs. The read option is NOT the wild cat, it most certainly has a place in this league especially with so many athletic QB's. And if done correctly, like the Tuel's run, QB doesnt even have to get hit and at least can minimize the blow and if running it out wide like that, a 6'5 EJ running over a CB would be nice to see!
  20. BOTH.. the 6 WR we go in into regular season (assuming no serious injuries). Sammy, Williams, Woods, Hogan, Goodwin (speed threat over TJ Feathersone ) and Easley as ST which team will have heavy use of. Hogan will see PT this yr
