  1. BOTH.. the 6 WR we go in into regular season (assuming no serious injuries). Sammy, Williams, Woods, Hogan, Goodwin (speed threat over TJ Feathersone ) and Easley as ST which team will have heavy use of. Hogan will see PT this yr
  2. TJ AKA Featherstone from Necessary Roughness wont and shouldnt even MAKE final cuts unless we suffer a few injuries to other WR's in camp and pre-season or in Kiko's case, working out at his alma mater
  3. Would have been BETTER if he "broke" something! A tear is worst, and longer recovery... Hope this isnt 1st of more significant injuries... We FINALLY have a roster thats (scary to say) deeper than ever..... Next man up.... We do have a slew of LB that have starting ability for 1st time in yrs in Spikes in middle, Rivers on outside and very talented rook in Brown... The area this will hurt us most in, is nickel D which is like 50% of plays in modern NFL...
  4. Isnt iit just a GREAT thing with the new CBA when team's pretty much ALL sign their picks rather smoothly compared to the days where u had to mortgage the future if a top pick busted. It;s crazy the difference from last yr of old deal and new one when u compare the last 1st overall pick from that draft being Sam "moneybags" Bradford... Rams had to make HUGE investment and longer term in those days. Now with rookie contracts, they get what the "value" of pick should be, which IMO, makes guys heading into 1st FA contract more expensive than ever cuz they didnt make the "huge" money in rookie deal, especially if they were a 3rd rounder or something like that, that busted out and played great for rookie deal. They know its time to CASH IN as much as possible and probably why so many walk for the extra buck rather than show team loyalty like back in old days. RC
  5. Dont u guys realize it was DAY 2 of OTA's????? CHILL!!! Maybe they are just trying to see what they in Brooks, Cockrell and others cuz they saw alot of Robey last yr. Best time to give bubble guys field time is early, to weed out the WORST ones...
  6. Very good point! I watched almost all of Louisville's games last yr and they had a stout D and he was everywhere on the field for them. Our LB corp went from being a big question mark outside of Kiko entering off season to now, being 1 of our deepest positions.... Considering we will be running a 4/3 (last yr was a hybrid by still had some 3/4 in it) so we will need just 3 starters at LB and with Kiko moving outside which is where he is much better suited. He had great yr last yr, but he got run over alot and we got gashed for ALOT of big plays on the ground. This yr, he will be freer coming off outside and chasing ball down with having Spikes inside to do the dirty work. I dont think it will take too long for Brown to be on field. Rivers is very talented and even tho he hasnt lived up to his draft day status, he is a viable starter but is very injury prone. With having Brown around who can play ALL 3 LB positions. I'm very curious as to how they use Lawson... he's much better suited for a 3/4 but he's coming off a productive yr and is stong vs run. Pass rushing is not his strength and dont really know how he would do as 1st and 2nd down DE opposite Mario and having Hughes take his spot in passing situations. I do think we could be situational LB . Between those 5 guys at LB and still a guy like Bradham who has the physical talent and hasnt yet really materialized but is a solid ST and will really have to fight just to make roster this yr... Last LB had scrubs for back ups and Moats/ Bradham tandem were the main reason we were so awful vs run. We had alot of games that we were doing great vs run, then boom, 2-3 big plays and all of a sudden, before u know, opponent would have 150 yards on ground... With our DL being the 1 of best in NFL, let along division, its up to the LB's to "finish" the play and far too many times they whiffed and RB's were able to get 1 on 1's with our safeties...
  7. I hope he wins 3rd string over Tuel.... The way Tuel releases and lofts ball has to be the ugliest and 1 of worst i've seen ANY QB throw.... He doesnt even deserve a spot on practice squad. Ej #1, Thad #2 Kenny #3
  8. Doesnt really matter in our O. We have our blocking TE, and Chandler still does his thing and will catch his 40-50 balls for 400-500 and couple TD's. We will be using a lot of 3-4 WR sets or 2 RB sets so wont really need TE on field and when we are in ground and pound, u insert Smith to go along with Chandler.. We will be getting those extra balls to WR;s and hopefully they RB's split out wide sometimes. Sammy alone will get 2 "catches" a game in plays are really running plays in either a simple flanker screen or bubble screen
  9. FYI Chad is on outs at Clemson, had off field issue, and wasnt 1st and he wont get starting gig and is looking at transfering if he hasnt done so already. Maybe Chad has bit of prima dona attitude and didnt develop enough since HS and figured it was "sure thing" he'd land gig once Boyd was gone. Great job by Sammy, loved this kid at Clemson past 3 yrs and will be HUGE addition to WR corp and best weapon EJ has at his disposal.
  10. Even KIPER had Sammy as #1 offensive guy and #2 on his big board behind Clowney. Its based on what we paid for him. I just dont get how the falcons got kudos for trade up to get Julio (who is not the prospect coming out of college that Watkins is) and we gave up LESS than them. He posted we didnt adress some "needs" but what he views as needs are not true needs. With us trading up and getting Sammy the TE position will not less used in offense. I foresee mostly 3 WR sets with either Chandler in at TE or Gragg in has good camp as more mobile TE or we go with 2 RB on field, either 1 split out, or both in backfield. I dont get why Marrone and Hackett didnt use 2 back sets with BOTH CJ and Freddy on field at same time. If u are a run heavy O, why not have 2 threats to get ball in back field which will make D have to gamble on which guy will get ball. I think it would be brilliant to constantly run 2 back sets now that we have 4 talented RB's on roster and even Summers looked pretty darn good at FB and can see him progressing alot more as this was his first time with real job in NFL and will work his butt off to cement roster spot and was solid on ST. And at Safety, we DRAFTED 2 guys both in mid rounds last yr and we already have Aaron Williams locked into 1 of safety spots and showed last yr he is MUCH better safety than CB. I expect the FO did their homework LAST yr and knew that both Duke and Meeks had to basically take a "redshirt" yr to learn NFL and learn from 1 of best in Byrd who they knew they had practically no chance in retaining. We did the smart thing LAST yr in drafting not 1 but both of them so we have options and both will work their butts off to EARN that spot, and not simply get handed it. I hope at start of camp, they allow Searcy to BEGIN with the 1's and allow Duke and Meeks to earn their spripes and snaps to see who has progressed more to be the starter opening day. We know what we got in Searcy. Can play solid in the box in sub packages, but just doesnt have the talent to be a starter unless its to fil in for inuries etc.. Why draft a safety when we invested 2 picks last yr??? These draft grades are full of crap, and mean ZERO in long run. Most these guys follow the Bills less than any other team and probably.
  11. He would not net us anything close to a #1 but we added extra pick which could be a 3rd if SJ13 meets whatever figures they come up with. (really hoping he flourishes there, happy he gets to play at home and on great team and away from us). Totally agree with upgrades in OL that this is yr if CJ can stay healthy, can have career yr which is why i hope they lock him up prior to yr and let him know they want him to stay in B-LO
  12. I agree, we actually have DEPTH on this team now (really strange to say, depth and our team in same sentence!) every roster spot is very valuable. Its obviously way to early but a few guys i dont think will be on roster is Pears and 1 of the RB's. I can see Whaley and co. swinging another deal with trading Freddy and re-signing CJ. With the Clemson crew now it town, and Freddy age and Bryce on team now who they seem to have coveted even last yr, i dont see us being down making few more tweaks.... If they can swing a deal with Freddy either for a 5th or something next yr(which we need to stockpile with no 1st and now after few trades in this draft adding more mid rounders.. or even a player for player deal (which seems pretty extinct nowadays?!?) with us landing a veteran safety similar to Freddy situation. A team who good depth at safety and can spare trading a vet so they can let younger guy step in. I think regardless, we must add another safety to mix. Aaron Williams hd breakthrough yr and has cemented himself with big contract to be sure fire starter. Hopefully, between 2 picks last yr in Duke and Meeks, 1 of them shows thru OTA's and camp, they trained hard all offseason and come in ready to step in and start. Searcy is solid depth guy, but not starting material unless its to fill in for couple of weeks due to someone being out. Sleeper on this team in going to Stephan Charles... I'm Canadian, but live in South Florida but atill keep up to date with CFL, this kid has that "it" factor. In small ammt of playing time last yr, he was visible when he saw field cuz he made a few really nice plays. Alot of DL that are subs, can virtually seem unseen during game cuz they do nothing. Charles made few plays and with full offseason behind him and Dareus may be facing a suspension, he may show in 1st 4 games (which is what i think Dareus may get, hopefully somehow he gets off, or just 2 games) that Charles is a PLAYER in this league and deserves spot in rotation.
  13. After FA signing of Dixon who will be the short yardage guy and most likely just a situational guy and Special teams guy as RB3, between Bryce Brown (whom the Bills seem to love considering trying to trade for him last yr) and CJ and Freddy, SOMETHING has got to happen... I cant see us coming into the season with all 4 of them. CJ and Freddy are both in last yr of contract and CJ was a 1st rounder and by far the most talented of the foursome and with style of O we run, even tho numbers dont show it, he is by far the best fit when healthy to be RB1A. Leaving Brown and Freddy to be the RB1B. We can definitely afford to keep all 4 with us not being in a bad cap situation but this backfield seems overloaded... I know Titans made pre draft call to us and it was reported Whaley had no interest in trading CJ. I REALLY hope with addition of Brown that they trade or let CJ go after the yr. If we do go through yr with all 4 cuz the team's slogan for yr will be "Playoffs or Bust". I just really hope we lock up CJ, he can tear up league is used right and if we dont keep him, someone will pay for him, and get a guy who will post top 5 RB numbers, especially with his ability as pass catcher. Marrone and co. severely misused CJ last yr after very bold statements about him b4 yr "running him till he pukes". I know the ankle issue was probably huge part of it and for a guy like CJ, an ankle injury is the worst pssible injury for guy with his skill set which is plant and cutting really hard. He's not like Freddy who is more of a glider. Someone will NOT be happy with their role this yr.... Dixon is used to be in backfield where there are alot of guys so he knows his role and will be key on ST. I'm just very worried they misuse CJ and as much as i love Freddy's heart, he is in his 30's, had knee problems few times and was very a burner to begin with. This regime wants to be put on franchise and have made some very ballsy moves and are gonna do it THEIR way... I just pray CJ is key part of it. After trading SJ13 and going the youth and criminal route at WR with additions of Mike Williams, last yr;s 2 early round WR in Woods and Goodwin and now with the gem of them all, Sammy Watkins (who even grew up a Bills fan). On paper, CJ is much better fit to be lead guy in backfield with Bryce Brown being #2 and Dixon #3. I just dont see how Freddy fits in unless they are thinking they are worried about CJ staying healthy and Brown being the long term replacement if he has off yr or injury plagued yr again and they are fed up and let him walk (which would be WORSE than Lynch trade cuz we would get ZERO for him). I know we was not drafted by this regime and they seemed to have severe man crush on Bryce Brown who i've seen alot of in Philly but the guy also had a severe fumbling issue. What do u guys think/ hope for? I know my opinion may not be well liked cuz alot of ppl on here seem to be huge Freddy guys but he is ALSO in last yr of deal and there is no way we re-sign both..... RC BILLS TO PLAYOFFS THIS YR!!!
  14. I definitely think we need to add another QB to mix in 4th or 5th. PLENTY of solid guys out there to fit an up-tempo, west coast style of O with the game plan not needing the QB to dominate, just make right reads, and take advantage of the "big plays" when they are out there. I love AJ Mcarron and Aaron Murray to fit that role and both are heavy duty "leadership guys". And are 4 yr starters at bigtime SEC programs. Those would be the guys to target if we went QB in 4th. If we wait, i think the most logical choice would be Taj Bojd. He's a mobile QB, and early in yr was looked at at top 3-4 QB in what WAS considered at start of yr an "excellent" QB class. The Clemson crew would be all over the O! and i think he would be a very good choice to "develop" as they said they wanted to do with Tuel last yr. Tuel is garbage, NEED an upgrade and even tho i like the fight in Thad, he just doesnt have talent to br the guy in EJ goes down. A kid like Mccarron or Murray or even Mettenberger (even with injury risk) are all guys that are more ready to be thrown in mix and manage a game if EJ stunk up the joint or got hurt. If it's playoffs or bust, we BUST have better back-up QB situation that last yr;s disaster. Cyrus was a HUGE, (pun intended) addition. Will battle for that RT job and most likely win it and more importantly it doesnt make so much of a shuffle to line if we took a Robinson or Lewan type who are both "higher graded" that Cordy. Cordy has been very solid on Left side and i would not mess with it. Cyrus will be a mauler in run game which we surely needed. I love the interview he had after he was picked. This kid will have a chip on his shoulder and a mean streak. Outside of QB, it would be nice to add a DE to mix. I really do like Michael Sam as a prospect. Outside of the hoopla that will come with him, i think the kid will be a player in this league. We need to add another pass rusher to mix. Hughes was awesome last yr but will struggle vs run and even tho Sam is more of a pass rusher than run stuffer, this is a passing league, MUST get to the QB. Hopefully we can also add a guard to the mix but with adding Cyrus, with Hairston possibly healthy (not counting on it) and Pears, maybe they can shift 1 inside to guard if needed. I really like that too. Def think AJ should be 4th pick and getting an athlete like the black mamba would be fun toy to play with especially with Freddy getting up there in age... U have Dixon as your short yardage guy and CJ and Mamba as lightning and lightning!
  15. We have enough WR's??? Just cuz we are all Bills fan and see "upside" of our boys, doesnt mean they are legit NFL starters. Woods is gonna be a great #2 as he was at USC next to Lee. Stevie is either GONE or getting moved to slot full-time. Even tho Stevie was our #1 WR, doesnt mean he IS a #1 WR. He;s a number 1 by default with having Woods as rookie 2nd rounder and not projected to be a #1 WR. He's more suited to become a really solid #2. If u consider Goodwin (who is not an every down WR, hes a better version of Roscoe). TJ Featherstone Graham who shouldnt even play Arena league Football, Mike Williams who is very talented but is a messed up young man who is a 1 stupid move of long suspension which is why he only cost us a 6th. Hogan and Easley are only suited to play ST and Hogan probably wont even make team and Easley should have his cemented his roster spot with excellent ST play last yr. Having "alot" of WR doesnt matter if none are game changers. Watkins is. This kid is beyond explosive and will be a superstar. Like someone else mentioned, i'd rather have given up last yr's 1st and kept this yr;s 2nd cuz this a very deep draft and hopefully we address OL and TE in 2nd and 3rd. Would love to see ASJ or Niklas or Amaro in round 2 or if we love Tackle in round 2 a kid like Morgan Moses from Virginia and hopefully 1 of those 3 TE's slip to us in 3rd. This regime wants playoff drought to end ASAP and getting a top notch WR like Watkins gives us a guy D's have to fear. He;s not a project like Coradelle Patterson or has limitations to his game like Tavon Austin. He's very physical, catches with his HANDS not body and is great at 50/50 balls and has speed and agility to turn a bubble screen or quick slant into a TD if he makes first guy miss. He is gonna be the BEST WR in team history. That;s bold statement considering we had Andre Reed and even Eric Moulds but Sammy is a more complete WR than both and if he reaches just 80% of his potential, he will own EVERY Bills receiving record out there (except longest TD which Fitz threw a 99 yarder to TO that 1 yr we had TO).
  16. Aslo, i expect next yr's #1 to be in teens or low 20's cuz WE WILL MAKE PLAYOFFS!!
  17. Watkins was by far the best WR in this and probably past FEW drafts to have the ability to be a true #1 WR. With selection on Robert Woods who played alongside Lee at USC, is a GREAT #2 for EJ. If we trade SJ13 who would be our slot guy in current situation, when we still have Goodwin, and Graham (whom i hate and reminds me of Featherstone from movie Necessary roughness"). Goodwin is a faster, better and more versatile version of Featherstone i dont think we truly "need" to trade SJ13. If he puts ego aside and looks at potential of him in slot with Woods and the electrifying Sammy Watkins, with Goodwin out there in 4 WR who will be very dangerous in that role. Along with ur running game, this offense will be very dynamic iIF EJ takes steps forward. I just dont see Stevie being happy in this situation even tho it really is what he would excel in. He may view himself as a #1 WR, but in real world, he was a #1 in B-LO by DEFAULT.... On a playoff team, he;s a solid complementary WR as a middle of road #2 or upper tier #3 who sticks in slot. His best asset is the juking moves on slants and middle routes, and as we ALL know, has never shown up to make the big catches and plays in crunch time. (i dont consider the ball he caught vs Carolina a "big" clutch play, cuz ANY High School WR could have caught that lightly, lofted ball while being completely WIDE OPEN... Also, when he made that catch, he made it with his body, cuz he was probably SO terrified to drop it! Top notch WR;s catch the ball with their HANDS... Sammy is SOOOOOOOO good at that and is very physical and has great 2nd gear to turn a missed tackle into a monster gain. He always reaches out to grab ball with his hands and snags it instead of wasting split second for it to come into his body. With Goodwin around, who THIS regime drafted just last year shortly after Woods and Featherstone (who i pray gets cut even if we trade SJ13) cuz he;s just so damn bad! and i think Easley is almost 100% assured of roster spot as WR6 cuz of his terrific special teams play and WR6 rarely sees field as an actual WR. Sammy was WELL WORTH what we gave up. It;s blatant Whaley, and coach Marrone EXPECT to be a playoff team and going to do whatever possible to accomplish that feat. Considering just 2 years ago, Falcons traded up like we did to select Julio Jones at #6 not #4 and gave up their 1st AND 2nd along with the 1st rounder the next yr and we just gave up a 5th instead of that 2nd to go along with next yrs first, i DONT think we overpaid at all. Watkins is a better prospect than Julio Jones who had injury history even in college let alone last yr with Falcons and his monster yr came with a QB in Ryan who is a pro-bowl level QB and not to mention having Roddy White who is a legit #1 WR on other side. This is the deal we have to compare our trade to. And i'd much rather have Watkins coming out of college than Julio out of college. Watkins has been rated higher than pretty much ALL WR's in recent drafts. He is as sure a thing at WR as u can find and to go along with our running game and Woods, Goodwin and co (expecting SJ13 to be traded) and hopefully a TE in round 2 or 3 today like ASJ or Niklas we have emense talent on O. RC
  18. +1. Got EJ a real weapon with Sammy, now u need to protect him!
  19. Very good point... Jets or other hand would be perfect fit for him with Decker or other side and neither being a top flight #1 but together they would form a top notch 1-2 punch. Sometimes better to have 2 guys as lower tier 1's and very diff style of play, gives D's nightmares on who to double. With way Jets have approached off season, they need to make a splash and this would be it. And if any team doesnt mind a circus, its them... Regardless of off field issues, i'd love him on our team. Even though he's smaller, he's a polished and productive version of what we envioned Goodwin could be (if he hits his potential and stays healthy). With him and Stevie, along with Woods and them Goodwin in 4 WR sets, that would be 1 hell of a WR corp with tons of versatility. If not, i REALLY hope we address in the 1st round, getting EJ another toy out there... Either Ebron, Wadkins (whom i doubt will fall to #9) or Evans who is the real deal. After Watkins, he is def. the clear #2 and i would take Ebron over rest of field (TE's or WR's) as i could see him being a terrfic receivin threat, and instead of going a RB, 3 WR and a TE, we could go with RB, 2 WR and 2 TE (Embton and chandler) especially in 3rd and mediums which would give us 2 big guys at TE along with SJ13 and Woods on outside, or can even split Ebron out wide, while putting Chandler on LOS and SJ13 is slot. Getting a talent like Evans, Ebron or Desean via FA, would be a HUGE boost for our O. I just really hope he goes anywhere but AFC east, namely Jets cuz as poster previously posted, i think its HIGHLY unlikely Pats would take shot with Desean after the Hernandez situation.
  20. True Detective is best show EVER! R.I.P Mr. Wilson, a true pioneer and a great man. I think "wide right" could have taken off 5 years off any Bills fan along with music city miracle. I am now 34, and was crying hysterically and going nuts after wide right and i'll never forget my dad calling me from Fla (i lived in Montreal at the time) to say congrats after RJ led Bills to "apparent" GW FG and then comes the home run throwback to Dyson... i almost fainted and went nuts!!! I think i probably blacked out with anger after that 1! R.I.P Mr. Wilson, and plz g-d, let Jimbo beat this, there is no tougher man out there to do it!
  21. He's young enough and plays a position that would be nice to get a 4 yr deal... Hopefully at least 3 but hopefully under $5 mil a yr
  22. A team with bad DT's???? We are obviously moving to a true 4/3 with Kyle and Dareus in the middle with guys like Alan Branch who is more of a 4/3 DT than 3/4 DE. We would have Kiko on the outside with Rivers/ Lawson and Spikes in middle as the cog in the middle.. We have had a HUGE hole with a LB who was a run stuffer. Moats and Bradham can not handle that duty. Spikes is very instictive and very hard hitter and doesnt whiff on many tackles. Frees up Kiko to play in more space which is his strong suit and got overpowered in the middle alot last yr vs run. Our front 7 would have great starters and right rotational type guys to play snaps like Jerry Hughes is pass rushing situations and our LB corp would have Kiko, spikes and depending in the situation, either Lawson or Rivers and still have guys like Bradham who now will be in yr 3 and has had alot of time in field in his 1st 2 yrs. We probably wouldnt have to look at LB in the draft if we inked Spikes after signing Rivers. Maybe a mid round 'tweener" type guy who we can play around with either as a pass rusher or LB like a Micheal Sam who is a mid round prospect and sec D player of yr.
  23. I'm with u on this one! Seems like we are the only 2 who voted for him as he only has 2 votes! CJ was a now "rare" 1st round RB and MUST be used properly this yr. I really think even outside of the high ankle sprain, they were not using him properly from the get go. The guy MUST get 20+ tocuhes a game. I dont get why they didnt incorporate more of Spiller out wide and throwing him a WR screen, cuz that could be his bread and butter, and also, most of the tackles on those plays are made by either a Safety or CB... less punishing blows than running up the gut... For the Bills to improve, CJ HAS to be involved and should not come off field when Freddy comes in, he should be splir outside. At worst, he's a decoy cuz he must be accounted for (a lot more so than any of our current WR) and would free up a bit more space inside for Freddy to slither through. I love Freddy, but CJ talent must come to fruition this year and put up some monster numbers!
  24. This kid goes to Olympia Heights, its like 5 minutes from my house!
