THIS! Also, will play with chip on shoulder... Kiko isnt "big talker" he lets his play speak for itself and i see him being much better next yr vs Run and gap control and definitely earning a pro-bowl nod.

Who do you want to be the next DC?
RCOHEN13 replied to RuntheDamnBall's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
LOL great post! We should be able to get pretty much whomever we want. It's a great DC job taking over a D that sent 4 guys to pro bowl along with some very talented other young starters including Kiko DOY (or will be!), Gilmore, Mcluvin , Lawson, A. Williams... Also, its a position that led to a DC landing a HC gig the next yr off a LOSING team..... That's VERY rare... Of the jobs left out, this has to be at top of any Defesive guys "wants". With the talent we have on that side of ball, and being in year 2 of O system with QB who will have full offseason to develop... This D can be EVEN BETTER than last yr if the O can avoid so many errors. If i'm O'neill... i'd WANT the Bills job over going with Pettine to Cle. In Cle, if he had success, it could be viewed like the Jets with Rex and Pettine.. In B-Lo, he can take the D the Pettine built, ADD more talent and have much better personnel to work with in Cleveland. If he can re-produce what Pettine did last yr and Bills can take steps forward on O, this D can be even more effective in yr 2 and would prob keep it VERY similar to what Pettine did. -
Jairus Byrd is NO Earl Thomas

Doesnt hurt having guys like Sherman as a shutdown CB and Chancellor as his running mate as other Safety -
My pre-combine draft thoughts, how about yours
RCOHEN13 replied to simpleman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm all in at WR... I too like Evans but can see him having same issues with getting seperation. Same was said about Alshon and he went in 20's which may be the guy Evans who will be compared most to. Will for sure be top 4 WR but i do like Watkins alot better than him, as well as Benjamin. Benjamin has the potential to be the next Calvin Johnson. This kid is HUGE, has phenominal leaping ability and is fast... He can take a slant to the house, he can beat DB;s on go route or be that stud red zone target we have lacked for yrs. #9 may be a high for him but he;s a redshirt sophomore who once season is over and its all about draft, i can see him being the WR that moves up charts and ends up being 2nd WR off board after Watkins. Watkins will have scouts drooling.... i've watched at least half the Clemson games for yrs and he has been super productive since he arrived there. He's a better version of his team mate from 2012, Hopkins and will be a team's #1. The other guy who will probably get more pub as draft nears is Marquis Lee. After sub par yr number wise and having all sorts of ailments, this guy was by far the #1 coming into yr and for good reason. I watch almost all USC games and him and Woods were just a thing of beauty to watch together. Got very frustrating watching them this yr with QB woes but having that tandem in B-lo would be really nice too. With Teddy, Bortles and Johnny Football all almost locks to be be top 10 picks, either by QB needy teams ahead of us and i can see someone coming in kinda out of no where and trade up to snag a QB. With 3 QB's, Clowney and Barr are also locks to be gone and throw in Matthews who is #1 LT and has pedigree to go with it. That;s 6 guys that ALL gonna be gone b4 us... Considering our pass rush set team records last yr, we would have no need for a luxury pick of Barr or Clowney, the draft could play out very nicely. I want to love EJ (having alot of trouble doing so, but i def. do see the skill set to improve and think he will be significantly better next yr once he can have a full off season in system, and hopefully stay healthy to not stunt his development. Whether we like it or not, there is no way the brass will select a QB in 1st round... MAYBE if a QB they had as top 15 value was there with our 2nd rounder, hopefully they will give it a serious look either to push EJ, or say, this is a mans league, and young qb;s arent as risky anymore from a financial aspect and at least have 2 real prospects to develop. If we dont go WR which i strongly think we should do, TE should be alternate. Ebron is an absolute beast and will be a better hands version of Vernon Davis. Not as sold on Amaro but thats probably cuz i havent seen him play very much but from what they are saying, him and Embron are neck and neck are clear cut top 2 TE's. Just scares me a bit to take a TE from TT where a TE is more of a WR than a true TE. I guess it would be considering so many teams employ 2 TE set and offense i look at from personnel standpoint that Marrone and co. i feel are on similar page with is Chip Kelly and Eagles. If EJ didnt have knee issues before season even started, i think we would have seen alot more read option packages as well as him being a true threat to run on scrambles instead of checking down so much, especially early in yr. If not WR, or TE, i;d either go Mack who i'd LOVE to see next to Kiko or best Tackle left. Hopefully if we go in that direction, Robinson is there. I think he is better than Mathews but so hard to grade OL cuz there are no true stats, i think he gets nod cuz of pedigree and protecting blind side of Johnny. I'd be plenty happy with the "boring" pick of Robinson and either put him at RT or move Cordy over to right side, whichever Marrone and OL coach feel is best fit. I could see Hairston if healthy get moved inside to a guard and being very effective. Pears is nothing better than a roster spot guy who can be swing back up tackle if resigned. -
Eagles Bringing In Competition for Foles
RCOHEN13 replied to Rob's House's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think Vick would be the perfect #2 to help EJ progress and Vick is still a very solid QB if needed for only short stretches cuz of his aggressive mentality and inability to take hits. But he was "no drama" for Eagles and was genuinely happy helping Foles with the offense and is a true pro. After what he went through, he definitely looks at life from different point of view and being a #2 QB is a nice gig financially and EJ could benefit alot from a mobile QB cuz EJ must learn to use his athletic ability cuz as a pure pocket guy, he will never reach his ceiling. He needs to be a threat like Cam is on 3rd and 9's to be able to threaten the D that if coverage is good and they drop into deep zones, he will burn u with his legs and pick up 10-15 yards. He also needs to get better at his throws on the run, especially while rolling out. He either "pushes" ball by over aiming and screws it up or DRILLS it on a quick slant the goes thru WR's hands and alot of time gets deflected and can easily gets picked. This happened at least 1-2 times a game which 1 was always to Stevie or Chandler. -
Jimmy Garoppolo - QB Eastern Illinois
RCOHEN13 replied to filthymcnasty08's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Would be a GREAT addition is 3rd or 4th round. We need to either draft a QB who can play if needed and at least show EJ is he stinks it up to start yr 2, the leash wont be as long as if he had just Thad or Tuel. Thad did "ok" and is a guy i can see coming into the game like the Cleveland game and being able to hold onto the game. But if EJ were to miss 3-4 weeks straight again and now teams have tape on Thad we definitely NEED a upgrade at #2 QB. Thad should win out in camp vs Tuel who is beyond useless, but either a mid round pick, maybe even Mccarron if he slips after some of the other guys ranked around him or above him cemented their ranking above him like Boyd, Johnny football, Teddy and Carr even though he wasnt super in his bowl game, he will be most like be a 1st rounder. I can see AJ slipping to 3rd or 4th and guys like Garoppolo being another name to look at. This is a very deep yr QB wise and once initial "run" on QB goes, teams ahead of us would have already taken their guy, so some solid 2nd round names may be out there in 3rd. This is not last with guys like Landry Jones, Nasib, Barkley etc.. slipping. This is whole diff level on QB;s this yr. Either this, or signing a SOLID vet like a Mccown, who would come in willing as a 2nd stringer, cuz he knows, he practically won starting gig over Cutler, all it would take is EJ getting slight knee sprain AGAIN and miss 3 weeks, and if we went 2-1 wiht Mccown and he put up solid numbers, it would cause absolute pandomonium on the boards!! LOL -
SOOOOO TRUE! No reason to use a 1st on a QB cuz we did invest a 1st rounder in EJ. But a 3rd or even a 2nd (if someone head brass LOVED)... It's a GREAT decision to use a pick on another QB. Thad had some decent moments but is NOT a upper tier back up. Getting another young arm who slipped who comes in with a little chip on his shoulder who's been a starter for few yrs like a Mccarron or Murray (3rd round or worse) or a guy like Boyd or a Hundley type (who i'm not crazy about). Guy i LOVE is Carr. He is nothing like his bro. He can make all the throws and and in this day and age, especially with Marrone/ Hackett combo, we use more of a college system which would really suit a quick decision, strong armed QB like Carr. Definitely think 1st round MUST be used on a game breaking WR like Wadkins. He is a much better version of Hopkins who went in late first last yr and was awesome as a freshman, shared spotlight with Hopkins last yr yet still posted very good yr and this past yr and in bowl game especially, he was BEST WR in NCAA. If not him or even Evans, i'd go Eric Embron who didnt put up numbers Amaro put up but is MUCH more of a "true" TE. Size and speed wise he's alot like Vernon Davis and is great in open field and can also stretch a D deep like Davis can. Those 2-3 guys should be our 1st round targets. Woods makes a great WR 1B but need another guy next to him. Stevie is much better suited as a 3rd WR and play mostly out of slot. He is only good at quick slants and some drag routes. Drops too many easy balls and is not a deep threat in slightest bit. This would leave us with those 3 as our top 3 and Goodwin come in as 4th WR and even TJ would serve well in a role like Robert Meachem has with Saints. Pretty much STRICTLY as a deep threat or decoy and runs go routes nearly every play to take his defender out of the play completely to leave room for rest of guys in middle of field.

Draft compensation for Levitre
RCOHEN13 replied to Dragonborn10's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Also, dont forget we lost guys like Rhinehart who turned in a great season for Chargers and received a pretty decent deal for a "journeyman" Guard. Thinking about it, he probably would have been a nice re-signing last yr if we signed him instead of Legursky. He probably would have beat out Colin Brown in camp and could have been huge addition to our Oline... Too bad hindsight is 20/20! LOL -
Would the Bills trade up to get Watkins?
RCOHEN13 replied to Mike in Syracuse's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sammy is NOT that small, and plays bigger than his size. He is great in jump balls and uses his body extremely well in traffic to gain spacing to make tough catches. He is not just fast and blows past ppl on WR's screen type plays. He is EXTREMELY shifty, and runs more like a WR than a pure speed WR like Patterson last yr. He is also capable of being a true #1 cuz hes great at the short game with screens and slants, very good at the intermediate routes for 10-15 yards in 3rd and 10 type situations and he is a phenominal deep threat. He actually reminds me very much of Eric Moulds but with less power (which can be fixed cuz he has the frame to grow bigger and thicker but is much more of a threat in the short passing game. The way he breaks screens for 1st downs is crucial in this day and age in NFL. Guys like Antonio Brown, even bigger guys like D. Thomas, catch at least 1-2 screens EVERY game. !st half of yr we basically threw zero screens till they finally started using Freddy in that role and in last game we started using CJ a bit more in passing game. We would be a GREAT addition, but at #9. Do not need to trade up. His stock will soar after the orange bowl but still will not be the "consensus #1 WR on ALL draft boards with guys like Evans out there. Also, with all the QB's out there, and a bunch of QB needy teams drafting ahead of us. I can see at 3+ QB going in top 10. Bortles bowl game will have his stock soar and he's that "hot QB" that shoots up draft boards which occurs every yr. No way Johnny Football doesnt go in top 10 no matter what the "experts" will do to critique every facade. The guy can just PLAY... All it takes is 1 team to fall in love with him and that will occur. That still leaves Teddy and he will surely be a top 10 pick and most likely the 1st QB off board. At worst, 2nd. As some have pointed out, guys like Clowney is a lock for top 5, and kids like Matthews with his pedegree will surely be a top 10 selection as well. So, there is a strong chance Sammy is there at 9. Whether we are sold on EJ or not, HE WILL BE OUT QB in season opener of 2014. Give the guy weapons on the outside. SJ13 is more suited to be a purely slot guy and #3 WR. Woods would be the perfect complement to a rookie and be together a great 1-2 punch. Taking either Sammy (who is best of bunch IMO) or Lee or Evans who are the top 3 and even Ebron who reminds me so much of Vernon Davis without all the drama that Davis had in his early career. If we got ANY of those 4 i'd be thrilled! We MUST get a skill position player in 1st be it a WR or TE to go along with our RB tandem where hopefully OC uses a HEALTHY Spiller more and lets him be the lead back and use Freddy to spell him, not split series. Evans has more boom or bust. SOOO many of this bigger, slower WR have trouble adjusting to pro game cuz level of DB's is just so much better. Even Jeffery looked bad in his rookie yr and Bears were not sold on him coming into yr. He has developed amazingly but there are alot more of the "big" WR that cant get past DB's deep in pro's like they did in college. Sammy is better the his teammate from last yr, Hopkins and is much more physical. I'd take him and even Woods college teammate Lee over Evans. -
Thats first thing that came to my mind too when i saw him listed... Missed all those games and STILL made pro-bowl?? He did really play well in 2nd half but to get a pro-bowl nod on a team with 2 other players (kiko and Dareus) who were more deserving and i'd even throw in Aaron Williams who went from looking like a bust to a true difference maker on Pettine's D. Hopefully we open the check book to Jairus cuz we really do need him out there patrolling CF as he is 1 of top FS in league and already has an ego and a holdout under his belt with an agent who is a pain in rear to negotiate with... We certainly have the cap room and he will command a deal similar to Golson from last yr, maybe MORE now that he got elected to another pro-bowl.. The duo of him and Williams and having Searcy as our 3rd safety should be left untouched and is probably our strongest position along with DL
-
Pretty amazing the 3 of our starters on D made pro-bowl. 2 others are likely alternates (kiko and Dareus) even though Kiko should definitely have made it from get go. That's 5/11 of our D. Throw in players like Hughes and A. Williams who have excellent yrs as well, thats 7 guys on our D that can be serious contenders yr in yr out for pro-bowl. Also Gilmore can reach that level if he can become more consistent which i think he takes that next step next yr and becomes an elite CB if he can stay healthy. If only they can find more ways to get Spiller the ball and have him emerge as the lead back, not just between the 20's and emerge like Jamaal Charles did this yr. Very similar type of player.. I cant remember CJ running any "WR type routes" after getting split out. All his catches were either Screens or check downs.. Hopefully his ankle is issue of past and he can regain the form he showed last yr and EJ can take steps forward and we land another WR via early in draft or FA to play with Woods and Goodwin and we have a serious shot next yr at playoffs.. Been a LONG time that we go into the offseason with so "few holes"... Normally we have alot more positions with guys in flux than we will this off season and we actually have some real game breakers, especially on D
-
We dont need Carrington... DL is our deepest and best position. Charles is gonna develop into a beast also... Best player from a Canadian school in forever...

DraftTek Positional Needs Due 8pm EST
RCOHEN13 replied to Astrobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This kid can handle ANYTHING... Johnny Football is a "true" football player... Having a guy like Freddy around would be GREAT for him but highly doubt we use another 1st on a QB. I dont think EJ is the answer, i hope i'm wrong, i just dont see him blossoming into anything more than a solid game manager and never a top 10 QB. Guy i'd target in 1st round is Eric Embron.. This kid a beast. Better than Amaro and ASJ. Amaro is more a WR than a TE. Embron is very fast, can beat defenders deep and it great after catch on short routes and would be great in red zone and 3 and shorts. Woods is our best WR and happy to see them using as our #1 last week and think this will continue for rest of yr to see if he can handle that gig. He's not huge, but plays bigger than his size and WR's tend to grow and shine most after their rookie season where they are very raw and havent been with a pro team and having the nutritionists and trainers to groom their bodies in college like they do in pro's. I can easily see Woods come in next yr with another 10 pounds to his frame, all in muscle and not sacrifice any of his speed. I'd love to see him with his college running mate Marquis Lee. They were the most dynamic WR combo i;ve seen in college since the days of the U with Andre Johnson with Reggie Wayne as his #2! We def. need another WR, and even tho Lee is not that big bodied WR, he too plays bigger than his size and can get up there to make the catch. Him and Woods are also great possession WR's and are great after the catch. SJ13 is becoming useless.... He's hurting team more and more and i love the guy personally, but his time is done here.. I dont see him as a "Marrone" guy and with 2 high draft picks on WR's last yr and we MUST use a top 3 on another this yr. There will be no room for SJ13. Drafted WR and Woods would be 1A and 1B and Goodwin as deep threat. I'd bring in a vet possession WR on a nice 2 yr deal who would be fine as a #3 but still get plenty of looks and keep Easley as the 6th for his ST play. He is playing at a pro-bowl level as a gunner and has found himself a position. Dont think he will ever materialize as a WR but as the #6 WR u dont see field except in emergency situations. TJ "featherstone" better be gone too. All he can is run verticals and every time ball is thrown his way i cringe and hope to see a flag cuz i know he cant catch and even when he does actually catch a ball, he makes easy catches look tough cuz he never catches ball cleanly. This guy is just not a pro WR. Hopefully we sign a vet and draft a WR in 2nd like we did with Woods. Embron would be the ideal 1st rounder. If not, Evans is the Alshon Jeffery of the draft. He had all the same concerns out of college and he;s tearing it up. This is NOT James Hardy. He has great hands and is so strong that even though he doesnt have top high end speed, he powers thru DB;'s and gets alot of YAC that way and is also a GREAT blocker which is crucial in our system. -
THIS IS THE ANSWER... then use draft to shore up WR and OL and re-sign Byrd. We have the cap space to do so, and if we signed Cutler, it would be easier to attract a vet WR to come along too and would NOT be like the Bledsoe signing. Cutler is 10 times the QB Bledsoe was. He has plenty of football left in him and has played in 2 cities where the elements are an issue in Denver and Chicago. He would be the PERFECT QB for us and a guy like Woods can be extremely effective but we must get a top flight WR. Best chance to do so is via the draft. There are some studs out there and much easier nowadays to find a guy in 2nd or 3rd who drop and can be extremely effective. Look at Jeffery, ppl questioned his speed cuz of his 40 and has been HUGE deep threat and great possession WR cuz he;s huge and runs great routes. Keenan Allen, who i wanted in 2nd over Woods cuz i thought we has best WR in draft to be a legit #1. Woods is more a top #2 if he develops right and think he will. Guys like M. Evans who is a larger version of Jeffery or Marquis Lee is isnt huge but is a game breaker and a great possession WR and the chemistry between him and Woods would make a great tandem with Goodwin as deep threat and hopefully a reliable, sure handed vet FA. We made the investment in the D with Mario signing, its time to stop scewing around, GET A DAMN QB!!!!! There will be no after thought to this, we would be set for next 5 yrs and make sure to have a solid back up in place. EJ cost us a first round pick, but cuz of the trade down and getting 2 guys in 2nd who will both be starters for yrs to come, softens the blow. But what won;t, is if they think EJ is the guy. We wont go anywhere with him. Pats are in decline, Phins are always a mess and find a way to screw things up and Jets are much more than just a QB away. Their skill position players are a joke. We have weapons but no one who can get them the ball and a serious issue in play calling. WOODS NEEDS TO GET STEVIE'S CALLS. Every game Stevie lets a nice slant (that is thrown WAY too hard by EJ) go right thru finger tips and this week it was the 1st int of game.

Backup QB options for next season
RCOHEN13 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think this is a excellent topic for discussion.. Still a bit too early for draft cuz so many teams with records so tight and considering our remaining schedule is not the most difficult, i could easily see us fall out of top 10. But this year, that may not matter cuz this is a very deep draft class especially at QB where a few will go top 15 and whether ppl here love it or hate it.. EJ is our guy and HIGHLY doubt we take a QB, even if stinks rest of yr. He's shown enough and i think the last 2 game he really showed he can move the ball even tho we ran pretty heavy. Hard to get in synch when arent throwing much. I think Schaub would be GREAT to have as a #2. I absolutely LOVED Keenum coming out of college and was praying Bills would take flyer on him in later rounds that yr cuz i hated Tannenhill and prayed we did not touch him. Outside of Schaub, i think Ponder would make a great #2 if he;s accepting of role. Came from same school, is a much better runner than most QB's in NFL and i think we would work very well in our style of O compared to Minny which is also a run heavy system but a very conventional O. I think in a shotgun, spread O he would be alot more effective and still young enough to turn things around. I'd love for us to keep Thad around, but as 3rd stringer, not as a #2. He will benefit from having an offseason with a team and not being a practice squad guy or float from team to team. He is very deserving of a roster spot here or somewhere else. I think he is a bit of a stretch as a #2 but wouldnt be end of world but would def like them to sign/obtain a guy with experience as a starter, not a spot starter. I definitely think Ponder and Schaub would be best options but i think Schaub will want to be somewhere where he may have a shot of starting considering he resume outside of this yr is very strong. I think he is best as a upper tier #2 cuz he does seem to get hurt quite often and EJ's been hurt on 2 seperate occasions this year and having a reliable back up was what killed us this yr and is a MUST for next yr. Outside of those 2 guys, i'd rather draft a 5th QB who;s a Keenum type guy. Someone who puts up monster numbers and is labeled a "system QB". These guys can succeed in NFL nowadays and our system is one of teams those kinda guys would fit VERY well on. This draft is absolutely loaded on QB talent and using a 5th rounder or so would be a smart investment if they chose to keep just EJ and Lewis (Tuel is not worthy of a roster spot, he is beyond useless, he was in college and was embarrasing to watch as our starter with those floaters). -
THESE 2... Ebron is the best out there and is very quick.. If we end up picking after 10th, he should be our selection. MUST RE-SIGN BYRD!
-
We certainly have the cap space and the D is immensely better with him on the field. The guy is a play maker and a big hitter and even if it means over paying a bit, WHO CARES??? He is a pro-bowl level Safety and if he don't sign him long term, we will end up spending an early round pick finding someone to fill that huge void. This is a LOADED draft, to waste a top 2 round or even a 3rd rounder on a safety and let them battle it out with Duke Williams, Searcy (who is much better suiter in role he;s in now, as the nickel safety) when he already have a a star on current roster would be beyond foolish. We have a sure thing in Byrd and he's finally on a D that is a playoff caliber. If we re-sign him, and have another good draft, this is definitely a playoff contender next yr. Losing Jairus would be HUGE step back. It's 1 thing to let a guy like Levitre walk for more money then he was worth, MUCH easier finding a Guard (even though this replacements have been bad) but Legursky is coming along and can be easily solved in offseason via FA or a mid mid round pick to duke it out with Legursky in camp. Finding a replacement for Byrd in this day and age of NFL where teams throw so much would be HUGE headache. Now that our secondary is finally healthy and having Aaron Williams over at SS where he has excelled and Mcluvin having a great yr and has become as solid #2 opposite Gilmore who has had his struggles but is still a top flight CB. With our DL, Kiko and Lawson at LB (need another LB) and this secondary, we are in great shape coming into next yr not to mention that alot of our key skill positions players ofn O are rooks and our RB;s are set... We finally have a team that is very few pieces away from being a playoff type team. With another good off season with a couple of solid FA signings and another good draft and hopefully EJ taking a big step forward.... We have a lot to be excited about. However, it ALL starts with inking Byrd. RC GO BILLS!!!
-
I think this is huge. EJ needs to continue playing like last week and we NEED CJ to be a weapon and with 2 weeks to prepare, i sure hope they find ways to get him ball alot more. He needs 20+ touches a week and will finally be healthy enough. Hopefully the issues with OL and run game will get worked out during bye week cuz CJ is a game changer when he's on. Freddy is more a move the chains, gritty type runner and when CJ is "on" he makes Freddy so much more effective at what he does. Also, with SJ13 and Woods back, we can finally have our 3 best WR's on field at same time with EJ which hasnt happened since week 1 and that lasted a quarter when Goodwin got hurt. He HAS to have finally fully overtaken TJ in 3 wide sets (if SJ and Woods are back). TJ has to slide down to #4. I think our D will get 4-5 sacks and we will get at least 2 turnovers from Ryan. This should be a very winnable game and with next 2 games vs TB and Jax, we could very easily be a .500 team to close out year with 2 HUGE division games with Phins and hopefully a pats team that has its playoff slot decided so they have nothing to play for... I've been a Bills fan and havent missed a game since i was 11 and now i'm 33... I feel as though being a Bills fan has easily taken a good 5-10 years off my life with the stress! Hopefully EJ can continue progressing cuz if not, this QB class is EXTREMELY impressive and will be very hard to pass up some of those guys if EJ doesnt come out and impress and WIN some ball games. With the rest of the schedule, ended season at .500 should be a MUST and if we end up with a double digit loss season they need to rethink the QB situation
-
Woods would be best in slot... Best hands and great after catch

Maybe Hackett should stay on sideline from now on! GO BILLS! -
THIS... perfectly said except for part of hitting on ALL picks.. I'm very worried about the prospect of EJ in comp. to QB's coming out this yr... I like what staff is doing and think even though these losses have been grueling to watch and i feel like a massachist every sunday! But EJ is missing on such easy stuff and missing so badly on some them that it scares me we didnt wait a year and draft the QB this yr. If we go ahead and end up with lets say 5 wins... we will be drafting somewhere between 6-9 probably and with the slew of QB;s coming out, 5-6 of them are looking ALOT better than him and a few more that are looking to be on same level and possibly better..

Well as of right now we draft 6th
RCOHEN13 replied to Kellyto83TD's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They are seriously the luckiest team out there... No pun intended! To have Peyton that long and to suck for just 1 year.... They land Luck and now have a franchise guy for another 10+ years... Outside of that 1 yr where Peyton missed season, they will have just 2 QB's over 20 yr span! Simply amazing.. -

RCOHEN13 replied to Kellyto83TD's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I totally agree but it will never happen. This years crop of QB's has at least 4-5 guys who are MUCH better than EJ and a few others that are right around where he was graded. If Manziel, Marriota and Hundley all come out (have hunch Marriota who is most talented of bunch, may stay in school 1 more yr after the debacle vs. Stanford and want another shot at them and a national title next yr) and then guys like McCarron who is 4 yr starter and may win 3 straight national titles and has build, and skill set to be a better version of an Alex Smith, Taj Boyd who may have better numbers than EJ, but is a very similar QB to EJ but I think has more upside as runner and passer. He throws a nice deep ball and is also experienced and played in a ton of big games. Then u have guys like Carr who is much better than his older bro and playing in "system' is not as much as a deterrent as it used to be cuz so many NFL teams play with alot of spread systems too. And then there's Petty who was very highly recruited out of HS was at odds with Kiffin and left and had to sit out a yr and putting up better numbers than RG3 did and is unbelievably accurate and Baylor throws ball downfield alot and has a strong arm. I would take ALL those guys over EJ except maybe Carr and i think EJ, once his footwork gets better or shall i say IF it gets better can be more accurate. When a guy misses so badly so often on balls shorter than 10 yards, its SCARY... EJ seems like he overthinks and "aims and kinda "pushes" ball rather than setting his feet and guiding ball and the other misses is when he DRILLS ball cuz he seems scared that if he doesnt throw it hard enough defender will get to it when he HAS guy opened and just needs to get him ball rather than throw it so hard and leads to few drops. He just doesnt read a defense well. When he has zero pressure , he rushes throws when he has no need to. Is a terrible judge of how hard to throw the ball and either throws it too hard and on the touch throws is not very accurate. A lot of this can be fixed and it all starts with footwork and i'm just hoping he was a bit nervous and tentative vs Steelers cuz if not, he has regressed and is not showing he has the tools to improve. If he doesnt start playing better and show signs of improvement and show with a season under his belt along with a full offseason that he can be not only a viable QB but a guy who can be a franchise QB, then we are really better off using ANOTHER 1st rounder on a QB cuz crops like this dont come along often..
