Theory about the Chief's Downturn Root Cause
The Dean replied to jethro_tull's topic in The Stadium Wall
So you think Mahomes is throwing picks because of Bret Reid? Seriously? -
Depends on the situation, but yes seems like good advice. Sometimes a nice hybrid is the answer. Having a bad weekend? What's the issue? Did a Bills player get arrested or something? Personally I'm having a spectacular weekend. The Bills win will be the cherry on the top.

Not being an alarmist. Just letting you know: I'm getting texts from friends saying the local TV channels seem to be predicting a major Noreaster (or some such storm) for this weekend. Flooding, winds and such. The beaches are probably the most in danger. But I'm in no mood to be concerned about this weekend's weather. Maybe as bad as Hurricane Matthew, says one of these texts. We'll see. I'll take a look tomorrow. For those whose plans it might impact, something you may want to take a look at.

Wing It was founded by some cousins of mine. I don't even know if I've ever met them. My sister has. But by the time I got here, they had sold it (no more beef on weck after that, I heard). I went once. A bit of a drive for me on game day. I drink ya know. The atmosphere was really good for the most part. Lots of crazy screaming Bills fans. But I was a bit disappointed they only served beer and wine. That was probably actually good for me, since I can only drink a beer or two and the wine wasn't appealing. And I like to sit at the bar, and maybe the Bills game was on one TV at the bar, and not in front of me. So i had to wrench my neck around or turn in my seat. Not complaining too much. Just saying, if you are going solo and really don't like sitting at a table, when there is a bar available and/or need a bigger booze selection than beer, keep it in mind. But coming with a group from out of town, absolutely. I'm taking about the one on Old St Augustine Rd. The original I think. And this was several years ago, things may have changed.

The Georgia/Florida game is known as The World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail party. I've never been, but I hear it is outrageous. Odd because a typical Jags game tailgate scene is pretty weak. From what I've seen, at least. I've been to a couple Bills games there and the tailgating as actually OK---because Bills fans were tailgating! I took the ferry from The Landing one time, but the Landing is no longer, so dunno if there is way to go via water, right to the game. The other time I parked in a dicey neighborhood, but I didn't feel in any sort of danger. It was like 5pm in the afternoon, after all. Maybe at night it is a different story. Still trying to get stuff done so I can go. Is there a designated tailgate/bar for pregame?

Excellent addition. A great place and very underrated. Dunno I'd ever call them the "best" but pretty damn good, for sure. They always had a wing and pitcher deal. I suppose they still do.

Yes, Duvall County and Jacksonville were consolidated. There are other "communities" but all are now part of Jacksonville/Duvall Haven't yet decided if I'm going. I'm swamped with work and haven't been felling great, so falling behind. I'll be a game time decision, Yes, Duvall County and Jacksonville were consolidated. Will Josh Allen get sacked by Josh Allen?
The Dean replied to RobbRiddick's topic in The Stadium Wall
Not only that, both still seem to be on the roster. Both are 22 years old Both went to school in the state of North Carolina. Both are a bit undersized for their respective positions. But craziest of them all, they are both wearing the same shirt. How embarrassing! -
11/1 MNF Manningcast - Josh Allen will appear
The Dean replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
It was about as expected, IMO. Nothing controversial (Josh comes programmed with all the clichés) but very affable. A solid B+ -
Subtraction by Addition - Emmanuel Sanders
The Dean replied to Sharky7337's topic in The Stadium Wall
The sheer idiocy of some threads is just stunning to me. This is a prime example. -
The Chant for Josh. He's Here He's There. He's Every *******where!!!
The Dean replied to Irv's topic in The Stadium Wall
It worked with three syllables for years: But yes, it's a stupid idea. Let's not get involved with more pop culture derivative garbage. -
I'm no fan of Pepsi or commercializing everything. But I have to admit, that was pretty awesome. Use a different definition of "mafia" because it isn't going away anytime soon. The Bills bought the rights to the name. At the moment, the best definition of "mafia" might be "Buffalo Bills fan"

Makes sense. College Bowl was very well done, IMO. I remember the original show, and was worried this would be too glitzy/slick. But it was very true to the original, but more entertaining. Cooper is great. Of course Peyton is fantastic. He's a natural.
-
As entertaining as they are, I don't think i could watch them during a Bills game. Way too many long periods where the game itself is totally ignored. During Pat McAfee's drunken (?) story that took 3-4 plays to finish telling, the game was barely mentioned. For some games, that's great. Not for Bills game though, IMO.

This is basically how I have felt the past several years. But I've come to an agreement with myself. Until they earn it over time, I won't get TOO emotionally invested in the Sabres. So if/when they crash and burn, I won't be crushed. But since they haven't given us much to celebrate in quite awhile, I'll enjoy whatever ride I get for my very low investment. I have streamed a couple games so far this season, which is unusual for me this time of year. If I lived near the area, I'd be going to some games. Probably not a season ticket holder, but definately catching some games in person. As it is I hope to see then play Tampa later in the year. I was hoping they'd be there sometime close to the Bills game, but no dice. Maybe Tampa Downs will be open when the Sabres are there so I can do a track/hockey duo.

Seriously? That's freakin' hysterical. Probably also wonders "When do these people go to the bathroom?" So stupid because the answer is obvious. During the commercials.

Bills sign UB product OL Evin ksiezarcyk to PS
The Dean replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
Seriously? Have you paid any attention the past couple years? Tannehill isn't an A/top 5 QB, but he's a solid B in the system they run. Obviously a paisano. -
Which realistic trade options should the Bills target?
The Dean replied to JohnNord's topic in The Stadium Wall
I see a player or two who might fit, and improve, the Bills, depending on the cost. While I don't expect a trade, I by no means discount one. I trust Beane to make a good decision. At this point, don't you almost have to? -
Josh Allen: A winner above all other things
The Dean replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall
That was my point. And if you read through many of the other posts you may realize the crux of the disagreement is on how you define the term. And if you paid any attention to that, you will see many here don't use your definition. That was my simply and only point. -
All-22 Grades for Bills/Chiefs (The Athletic)
The Dean replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
His grade was, at the very least a B-. I dn't consider that "modest" at all. Especially as a rooke. Then again, I was never considered an easy grader -
Thankfully Josh has the good sense to put his hand down below his groin, to protect the jewels. But there is nothing he could do to protect himself from that second hit. Brutal
