  1. 🤣 Those are simply awesome, in the wrong way of course. I'm shocked if they didn't sell out immediately. Better than wearing a paper bag, IMO
  2. His brother Fred is, as well.
  3. I agree with all of that. But he is NOT a guy that went through his QB career (HS, College and Pro) with a nearly perfect team wining record, as some do. Not a 5 Star recruit. No national champinships, et. He struggled to even get a college team to give him a shot. Typically when someone refers to an athlete as a "winner" they tend to me that most every team they are a part of has won consistantly, rarely lost (if ever). Urban Meyer was considered "a winner" by most. Even though he never coached in the NFL and history would suggest he would struggle, and most likely fail, the retort was often "But he's a WINNER!". Same with Saban and Spurrier before him. Of course there are many factors that go into that. And to conclude the teams won BECAUSE of this one person is horribly flawed. But I'm simply saying, this is the typical way "winner" is applied to athletes. Sure. You can make the definition of almost anything fit with your conclusion. Just try and understand that with athletes, "winner" typically has a different connotation. I agree. Or perhaps, "dog".
  4. I think Rico's narrative is, any bad moves are 100% on Whaley. Any good moves were, clearly, made by someone else. In reality, IMO of course, his legacy is far more complex than that.
  5. I'm thinking we have some miscommunication here. Maybe we aren't that far apart. Then again, maybe we are. As far as I can decipher, the Bills FO is highly collaborative. I don't believe Bean tells McDermott "We're drafting this guy" or "We're giving this guy this contract" any more than I believe McDermott tells Beane, "I'm hiring this guy as my OC". I simply don't believe this FO works that way. Beane isn't a financial guy, but the financial guys report to him. He is an excellent manager. When it comes to the bigger deals, I'm sure McDermott and Beane get together. Overdorff might be in the room as might some others, at times. While Beane may be the ultimate "decider", McD has more than a little say over what gets done. At least that's what I believe. I'm thinking this is pretty much the same way a coordinator position will be decided. They will, together, look in house. I'm thinking they both will come with ideas. Certainly McDermott will have a list, but Beane might come with some ideas as well. Can you imagine McDermott deciding the next OC/DC without asking Beane if he has any ideas? They will make the decision together in some way. They seem to be very much in sync, anyway. But obviously they won't hire a coordinator that McDermott doesn't support. I doubt they hire one Beane doesn't support, either.
  6. BTW, aren't the first two options for "Watching the game" the same thing? In what world are "darn it, jeepers, criminey..." curse words?
  7. Is this some kind of ***** joke? Of course I ***** swear while watching a mother ***** football game in my own place. What kind of batshit crazy ####### doesn't? When at the game, I take the "temperature" of those around me. But in general I'm not dropping screaming F bombs when others are around. (I hope the censorship works as intended, this time) Hey, "batshit" didn't get censored. Good to know.
  8. Here ya go. Have a great time. And I hope they can make dad happy.
  9. No idea where this comes from. Beane doesn't have an accounting background, from anything I can see.
  10. See, this is where I hope the Bills FO is much better than many. You have to go BEYOND your own contacts, if you want to get the best. That's where Beane will come in handy.
  11. The only issue I have with the "Winner" label is, unlike most of the QBs in the NFL, Josh has NOT been on a winning team from youth to the NFL. Some of these guys have never experienced losing or hardship. Josh certainly has seemed to turn himself into a winner, I'll give you that. But he knows what losing is like and seems to know how to recover. I don't see this team getting too low, or too high, based on the results of a game or two. Part of that may be due to Josh's path to the NFL
  12. While I don't agree with Nick, why is this "laughable"? Herbert is a complete stud and is just killing it. Staley is doing a fabulous job as a HC, IMO. I didn't even know who the heck he was when he was hired. But it's hard to fault what he has done with that team. The Chargers are right there with the Bills for being best in the AFC, at the moment. I think it's clear that, as of today, Josh and McD are pacing ahead of the Chargers unit. And they have a year of success in front of them. But the take isn't "laughable". What is laughable is paying ANY attention whatsoever to Nick Nobody. But even a blind squirrel finds the occasional acorn.
  13. Not sure I agree. My guess is they work very closely together on any hire/pickup. I'm thinking McDermott is way to involved in the day-to-day coaching of the team to keep close track of who is probably available, who is up and coming, etc. That is technically Beane's job as GM. I'm not suggesting Beane would hire something without McDermott's buy in. But I can't imagine McDermott hiring someone without Beane's input. Just doesn't make sense, in such a well oiled management system.
  14. The only reason many NFL fans know the name "Nick Wright" is because he refused to give Josh Allen the credit he deserves. The ONLY reason, IMO. As an NFL analysis he has no other claim to fame. As a nobody, he is riding this to get some clicks and recognition. The Bills Mafia (that means Bills fans, folks) should simply start ignoring him, as they did in the past. Nobody should link his tweets. Why do it? He's totally milking the system. He has to know it, too. And this is hopefully my last post in reaction so what Nick Nobody has to say
  15. McDermott and Beane. Let's give some respect to the kick ass GM, too
  16. Here ya go: https://www.sliwinskifuneralhome.com/obituaries/David-Stanko/#!/Obituary
  17. IMO a huge difference maker in a manager/leader. No job should be "beneath you". A great manager is someone who helps you get your job done, not one who makes it more difficult. Putting it politely, a "goose" is a wakeup call. A tweak. Trust me, if you have ever been "goosed" you'd get it, and agree. I suppose I should mention for clarity's sake, a real "goose" happens below the waist.
  18. There goes the neighborhood. The horde from the Great White North will ascend upon us. Who? Who I ask, will protect us?
  19. The team's nickname is the Seminoles. So on that point, with full consent and cooperation from the tribe, I think it is much different. FSU has an actual working relationship with the tribe, as I understand it. Unlike the Washington team, which used a generalized slur of all Native Americans. I also believe Washington was paying one particular tribe in an attempt to buy some public credibility. With that said, I think it might be a good idea to lose The Chop. Just my feeling. I'm not a Native American, so I'm not sure my opinion means much in this matter.
  20. A very sad story, NG. Nervous Boy was a hell of a guy. Must be tough.
  21. I didn't say he was unknown, or undraftable, before Senior Bowl week. My recollection is, that's when the major hype began. When he was shooting up the list of multiple draftniks and teams. At least that was my recollection, I could be wrong. But I didn't see too many people calling him a top 10 draft pick before then. If you look at the Mark Schlabach article, for example, it's about Allen's possibilities for the 2018 draft. The year he actually came out. Yes, it is before the Senior Bown week, but it isn't about his ranking as a prospect the year previous to that. Which was the main point. I don't believe he would have gone higher if he had come out a year earlier.
  22. I changed my mind. Give them a 7th round pick in 2025
  23. Sure. I'd give them a 7th round pick in 2023
