It’s no problem. I posted right after the season a summary of two articles I read and they broke it down about their records. I didn’t have the links at the time. What is significant is we went 6-3 of teams who ended with winning records. That was the most in the NFL. Pitt., and KC had less. For me, SOS is moving target so I’ll read in May what they write after the draft, but keep in perspective so many things change. One example was SF went to the SB the year before, but with all of their injuries they ended up with a losing record. The opposite is true of Miami. 5-11 in 2019, and 10-6 in 20.

Nasty, by the end of the year we were rated as the 15th hardest schedule as things changed. SF with all the injuries, Dolphins better, pats worse, and so on. you were spot on prior to the year at 5th. That’s not to diminish a great year at 13-3. There’s no denying we played extremely well. The upcoming year who knows. So many questions on opponent QBS and teams overall. For example the SB champs Bucs have a ton of URFAs. They won’t be able to keep them all.

Wrong GM’s LA. In Beane we trust. It does concern me on the medical amd psych. Evals. Doctors throughout this country are performing their tasks with more precautions. I know Inigo you said something about April, but this is the most troubling. You get most of what you need by scouting tape more than a 40 time. They are nice to have, but seeing these guys play for two years will tell you more.

Did Beane sound something like this? Reid needs to take out another life insurance policy now! Rockne that is. All kidding aside, nice laugh on a Sunday morning Billieve. Thanks for the chuckle.

Reddogg, go do a search as I’ve never posted to cut him. Kroft, and one other took a pay cut last year as their leverage position was lower. He’s at $9 mil, and I don’t see another team unless he can prove he is 2019 performance healthy. I would love him back and don’t want to cut him, but a lot of players in 2021 are going to face a reality based on the team to a pay cut. He’s not the only one. we’re all entitled to our opinions, but never said cut him. Cut would be first or cut pay and then restructure to spread out a much lower contract. This team has a lot of players to extend and now we are in the Watt watch. Hard decisions bud. There are going to be losses. -
I thought the same Turk, and then at the gym played the replay from Movin the Chains. Pat made a comment from yesterday and said Pitts out as they now have $6 + mil. in dead cap for the pounced retirement and the Ben restructure. He doesn’t think they can do it. Made sense the way he explained. He called the Tampa Fournette pick last summer.

We’re hearing lots of reports, but Ed Werner was just recirculated by WGR as the current four front runners are Pitt., Cleveland, Buff., and TN. Should be interesting as we know they can pull it off if they really wanted and the price was right. All four of these teams are contenders, and what was interesting is one of them was NOT GB. Watt watch is on.

Carson Wentz on the move?

That’s true, but he wants two #1’s doesn’t he? I thought that’s what I read. Carr nor Wentz are worth that price. -

Weo, I don’t know, the Colts were 10th in overall offense, 11th passing/game, 11th rushing/game. They also have 8th in defense, 20th against the pass, but 2nd against the run. I am not a huge Wentz fan, but he may need a change in scenery, and Reich might be able to get something out of him. Where the Colts are at is they have a very good team with a good line. If Wentz will ever succeed, it would be there. The Colts need a QB and no way they can more that far north in the draft to get one. So they are left hopefully a trade. Listening to Pat Kirwan the other day, he speculated Brandon Marshall who is known to stretch the truth is off on the Wilson rumors. Pat mentioned they were in the same room for him getting Man of the Year, and he didn’t sense any of these thoughts about wanting out in Seattle. He did say Wilson is probably sick of getting his head knocked in from all the sacks. I don’t see Watson or Wilson going anywhere so you’re left with Wentz. Stafford and Goff are gone. Who’s left? Now, two 2nds seems like a fair deal. Not a thing more. -
You had to bring up Vlad, the Iron Sheik, and crew. 🤬🤭 There is a little overreaction to the Chiefs game. Just focus on the pass pro Josh had all year as he had lots of time to throw those nice deep passes we loved this year. I agree with you Hap, we can’t waste $ in FA on a Guard. The draft makes more sense and sometimes you can find a G in the 3rd or 4th rounds. As far as Ford, they never should’ve placed him at Tackle even if they had a need vs. his natural position all the way back to high school at Guard. He can Duke it out with the potential rookie we draft or Boettger. Only the doctors can inform us whether Morse can still go with those concussions.

Urban, welcome to the NFL. That organization supposedly is toxic. One of my closest friends has lived in Jax for 30 years and a number of players over the years live in his neighborhood. Pat’s (my buddy) home is somewhat of a fun home as a lot of people go to their backyard are as they have a pool and grill pit on the weekend evenings. Needless to say there are a few adult beverages consumed. He’s had players over and there were more than a few sideways comments. I don’t know how true that is, but coupled with the public comments by Fournette and Ramsey, it’s possibly true. Meyer has a lot of work to do there, just like Dungy had too fix the dysfunction on the Bucs in the 90’s.

Agreed Joe. Last year there were little bundling of picks league wide due to Covid, and I don’t expect it to change this year. Beane’s going match need/value, which is why it’s more likely we do take a RB in the first as we are at the end of every round. You’re not going to get the best TE, EDGE R, of even CB at 30. You could get one of the best RB’s.

The Patrick Mahomes Super Bowl Debate

Everything you said is irrefutable, but I believe he was asking if the media was using every excuse to not admit he had a bad game. I would agree he had a bad game, and his turf toe was more severe than he let on for good reason. You try not to let onto you’re opponent the significance of an injury without going too far to get in trouble with the league. My answer is yes, he had one bad game although it was in the biggest game of the year. It’s also a little demeaning to the Bucs as that defense had a great game, so when some media folks twist what we saw, it doesn’t make sense. Nord, I don’t read your post as not acknowledging how great the beginning of a career he’s had, just that several don’t want to admit, he played a bad game. I agree. It’s part that and part the defense played a great game in all phases. Thats my vote, and One reason I like Cosell is he’s not afraid to just state reality. He doesn’t pump up or down people. That’s why my favorite football show although least favorite station is Matchup. -
I could really see a push by the players and former players. I love Andre. It wouldn’t be a stretch to see Allen make a push, but privately. Who better as a Bills ambassador than Kelly to reach out, and have these guys go beyond the game and what his pass rushing abilities could do on the field, and speak to how he and others stayed in Buffalo because of the people. Bills mafia is the most well known and best fan base in all of the four professional sports.

Now that we don’t have to trade, yes on Clowney, amd heck no on Clowney. He did nothing this year and has never lived up to his draft position. -

I don’t think they would restructure Brown as you’re just kicking the can down the road. With his injuries this year (I said this year not injury prone as that is not true if you look at his whole career), and subpar performance post injury, he probably would accept a pay cut. No necessarily the minimum, but a hit. Just one man’s opinion and could be wrong. Mosquitos don’t bite him out of respect. The most interesting man in the world. Stay thirsty my friend! -

Thanks Lime, amd good idea to do the wrap. I’m sure you know if you repainted you’re wife’s van, it immediately reduces the value by 25% on avg., at least that’s what an old friend who owns a dealership told me. He wasn’t selling me anything. I just don’t see the team putting out that kind of expense and labor for one game. It doesn’t make sense especially in a tough fiscal year or two. -
Now sure bud. They have the NFCW and SF will probably be better, AZ, same, and AFCN. Pitt’s going nowhere, nor is Cleveland and Baltimore. They also have it easy you’d think with Washington, but the Saints if Beees comes back. Here he has the NFCS, and AFCS. I don’t see an advantage and Buff is on the rise. He might like what’s happening here. I see top guys wanting a ring, where there is a need, would take good but not great $ to be part of it. Can you imagine this guy jumping on a burning table. This probably would be fun for him. He’s made around $100 mil. not including advertising, so a lot of guys like him wants a ring. GB and Buff. makes a lot of sense. With us he doesn’t have to play more than maybe 60-65%.

I know I’m a pain in the butt with a bunch of fantasy stuff, but this one makes sense. STOP GETTING ME SO EXCITED! I’m in boys! Make it happen Beane. I hate this as I sound like a Madden kid. Just think about Star, Oliver, Jerrah (ours), and JJ. Edmunds would have a cake walk in his job. Jefferson, Butler, and even Addison should start worrying. Cut Brown and maybe we could even keep Williams, Mongo, Ford comes back, draft what we need, and sign a TE in FA. This morning they pointed out an experienced TE is critical as so few blow up in the draft. Cant wait for September, maybe.
