  1. He can't be this dumb. This has to be iEatCrayonz with a new ID.
  2. Considering the substantial partnership he has with the Bills, him complimenting them isn't really a surprise. If nothing else Jacobs would love to continue selling $10.00 beers there on Sundays in the fall. Regarding his influence, it goes well beyond the NHL. He's a member of the US department of commerce travel advisory board, and rubs elbows pretty regularly with major players in DC.
  3. Not necessarily, the NFL has made exceptions in the past, so there is precedent. You may very well be correct that he has no intention of buying the team. He also could easily back his sons in the purchase and not need to change anything relative to his ownership of the Bruins. Or he really has no plans whatsoever. It's all conjecture at this point. But my intent was to convey that he hadn't explicitly ruled out an interest in owning the Bills.
  4. Note it doesn't say he isn't interested, but that he won't sell the Bruins in order to do it.
  5. I don't think they need to block the bid. They'll likely just refuse it. If anything I'm willing to bet this group knows they will get shot down and are using it as a "practice run" so to speak, and really show their intent to the NFL. Also, don't pay too much attention to TG. He often has some glaring errors in his articles. For example JBJ's publicist never denied his interest in owning an NFL team, contrary to what TG reported today.
  6. DNC already services almost 1/4 of the stadiums in the NFL. The current owners would probably have no issue bending the ownership rules for one of their own.
  7. To be fair I think he fired Sambora because of substance abuse. The rest I agree with; I don't want him anywhere near the Bills
  8. One tough dude. Wishing him the best.
  9. For those of you on the fence about going, I've been seeing tons of people in the village of OP picking up beer, bloody mary mix, all of whom are wearing their Bills gear. Looks like it's gonna be a sweet party. I'll be there soon!
  10. I might go. I mean I'm only two miles away. It might be nice to meet some of you in person and raise a glass to Mr. Wilson.
  11. I believe that you're Jeremy White!
  12. Be careful, that will get you yelled at on WGR for disagreeing with Dope.
  13. You're a mod - get on making an emoticon for that.
  14. "Spikes is close with new Bills defensive line coach Pepper Johnson, a longtime Patriots assistant who coached linebackers the past two years. Johnson certainly would know what the Bills were getting with Spikes." Regardless of anything else, I would think that Johnson knows a great deal more than Smerlas about a player who he's coached for the last two years, yet that was more of a drive by comment, and not really critical analysis. I think that it would warrant more than 1 line, and I'm not even in the anti-TG crowd.
  15. Pats are a bunch of douches. Douches that win. I'll take him.
  16. Interesting, wasn't aware of that. They weren't the primary occupants thought right? Maybe a few floors like the Canadian Consulate or Phyllips/Little?
  17. Actually, Buffalo has a reasonably strong IT community ("reasonably" being relative to the rest of the economy - obviously we're no Silicon Valley). CTG, Cynacore, Yahoo, and other firms have either their headquarters or a strong presence in WNY. Also, there are decent number of back office IT jobs in banking and health care, not to mention other industries. Lastly, I'm not aware of IBM ever having a significant footprint in the Marine Midland/HSBC/One Seneca building, aside from a small number of contractors who supported the various banking related occupants. (edit - which isn't to say they weren't, I'm just not aware...)
  18. Yeah, I'm not interested in defending Islam. I'm no fan for the exact reasons you've cited. It's just the the logic used in the OP is rather silly.
  19. Or just about any religion. "How do you know that the bible is true?" Because God said so. In the bible...
  20. I do like that it presupposes that everyone was totally familiar with Gabriel. "Oh yeah, Mohammed? What was he wearing? Jeans from Express you say? Ha! You're a total liar. We all know the angel Gabriel shops at Chess King exclusively..."
  21. A conservative shouldn't have any particular qualms with pot being legal. Yes, there are downsides both long and short term, but not so much that the cost to the individual or society outweigh the cost of enforcement.
  22. Hahahahahahahaha. Oh wait, you weren't serious, were you?
  23. Is it me or have the Pats gotten away with one glaringly obvious hold (during the play Mankins got hurt) and two illegal blocks?
  24. Doesnt own a watch..
