  1. I like the speed but I wonder why he couldn’t crack the lineup for the dolphins.
  2. My favorite part of lil dirty’s interview was the mannequin story. Too funny. The Bills have a big mannequin that they dress in the uniform combo for that weeks game and they put a players jersey on it. So he asked them to use his jersey one week and they did but they swapped out the big mannequin for a really small one.
  3. He hurt his ankle in that Miami game and the injury was probably more severe than they let on. He practiced but doubt he was 100%. Ankle injury for a speed guy is tough to play through.
  4. I agree. His stats say yes but I don’t think I’d consider him one of the best of all time or even among the best of his generation. Was he ever really considered one of the top 5 qbs in any season he played? A lot of other QBs from his time will need to get in before him.
  5. Bosa as a lock if laughable. He needs quite a few more good years to reach lock status. Best of the best has given way to best of their generation.
  6. No doubt but Rivera didn’t have to deal with as much of an organizational culture change in Carolina as he needed to in Washington. John Fox established that before him. So that was something relatively new for him. Another takeaway was how many people with Carolina ties he has with him in Washington. Sounds a bit familiar...
  7. I think so. Probably a combination of 2 things. 1. Trying to score in the middle of the field to make the pat kick easier. To put it in football terms...imagine if the pat was from the 20 yard line but had to be kicked at the point where the ball crossed the goal line. Score in the middle of the field, the kick is attempted from the middle. Score in the corner, the kick is attempted from the corner making it a lot harder. 2. Blocking in rugby is a penalty. You can’t even use your guys to set a pick. So your instinct is to not follow your own guys. In rugby they would be following him not in front. I can easily see him taking on the Taiwan Jones role. Hopefully there are preseason games this year so he can see some live snaps. IMO the hardest thing for him to learn on offense will be pass pro. That is one skill set he definitely would not bring with him from rugby.
  8. Being replayed right now for you night owls. Started at midnight.
  9. Started playing little league when I 8 through Sr year of HS. Played almost every position other than QB at some point during that time but settled in at WR/TE and DB in HS. I played for a 3 yards and a cloud of dust kind of coach who I hated. We ran the same plays over and over and they rarely worked more than once. We threw maybe 20 passes all season. After HS I never expected to strap on the pads again but the spring semester of my freshman year in college (D3 school) I meant to sign up for a lifeguard class so I could do that as a summer job but accidentally typed in 1 wrong number and signed up for spring practice class with the football team. I played WR and played good enough for the coach to ask me to walk on the next year. I decided to pass on the offer, was more into having fun at that time and didn’t want to put in the work. I played 3 years of rugby instead. I don’t regret that decision but every once in awhile I wonder what if because I still love football so much. I definitely learned a lot of technique type stuff when I played but nothing about play design or concepts. I learned way more about that by playing Madden. Is that you coach Bombay???
  10. Funny that he used to drink a beer while doing baseball but Aikman wouldn’t drink beer so they switched it to tequila. I had trouble with the link so here’s a different one. https://www.google.com/amp/s/sports.yahoo.com/amphtml/joe-buck-admits-to-drinking-tequila-with-troy-aikman-in-broadcast-booth-221712798.html
  11. That’s pretty cool. I saw a unused AZ Cardinals 2009 playoff ticket with a patch for sale on eBay for about $85. If you can find a program or something to package it with you might get a decent buck for them.
  12. Re Winfield that’s why I said hindsight is 20/20. He ended up with a great career but at that time, what he wanted didn’t line up with his past production. I agree that Clements was worth top corner money but his 49ers contract made him the highest paid defensive player in history at that time. He was good but IMO not that good. I can’t blame the Bills for letting him go. I don’t disagree with your last point at all though. Pat Williams and London should have been retained although Cowart was never the same after he tore his Achilles.
  13. You have to put these in context at the time. Winfield wanted top corner money but had 6 ints in 5 seasons with us and only 1 int in his last 2 seasons. He was a really good cover guy but the lack of ints hurt his value. If he had the same production for us that he did for Minny it would be a no brainer. Clements got a ridiculous contract that he arguably didn’t come close to living up to. Letting him walk was the right move. Hindsight is always 20/20 but many at the time agreed that both got bigger contracts than they really should have.
  14. Seeing him being carted off after a concussion when he was in tears was a scary sight. He had no idea where he was at that time. Great guy, great player, great decision to hang em up.
  15. I wouldn’t mind the idea but the players have to wear the same helmet the full season so I don’t think it’s possible. I am fairly sure that teams no longer paint the helmets like they used to, they are molded in that color so I don’t think changing the color is an option.
  16. Better be careful posting this...you might have an angry thin skinned QB Producer coming after you.
  17. Reid traded for Alex Smith after he was hired and they resigned him to be their franchise QB. So I’d say we’re ahead of their pace simply because we found our elite QB talent sooner into the process than they did.
  18. At least he was active for this one. Didn’t see him play at all though.
  19. Would love to have him back. That Miami game probably earned him a decent contract. I think he was more banged up in the playoffs than reported.
  20. Madden would be good for helping a novice learn about a team and what they do well. You could maybe use it to help with your fantasy team. I would lose all faith in my team if I found out they used it to help with any kind of game planning.
  21. I hadn’t noticed they’ve stayed in the locker room all season. Was annoyed they were only showing the Chiefs as well. My guess is the players were told make a choice but do it as a team. They couldn’t all agree to stand or kneel so they just stay in the locker room together.
  22. Disagree here. He just beat every coverage we threw at him including Tre man up. He’s a beast. IMO he wrecked our whole game plan.
  23. I get the feeling that he coached like a guy that knew the other side had been a step ahead of them all night long. They anticipated what we were doing most of the night while we just reacted.
