  2. And you should be judged in the context of your posts in this forum. No, we don’t know McD personally, but he comes across as someone we would enjoy getting to know. You? Well, does anyone really want to get to know a total delta bravo?
  3. One of my favorites as a kid. Loved it when he beat the piss out of Ben Davidson on MNF, too. RIP, Otis Taylor.
  4. Nobody should be surprised by this revelation as the hitch in his step was noticeable all year.
  5. He was never really healthy all season. And in the offseason, there were a couple setbacks in his re-hab after the back surgery. He was never on schedule health wise going into the season. That said, there are no excuses and this is his prove it year, regardless.
  6. Aging players leaving is inevitable and it sucks, especially when they end up signing with a hated rival. But if we could handle Thurman signing with the ‘Phins, we can certainly deal with Poyer going there. He had a good run here and now it’s over. Next.
  7. Victory formation. Best play ever.
  8. No worries. Confusing Webbs is easy enough to do while sober.
  9. Huh?
  10. Agree entirely as it was one of the best individual seasons in history to that point. 2243 scrimmage yards was unheard of at the time. I think the 2003 yards in ‘73 gets more notoriety simply due to the sheer historic weight of the feat.
  11. 1973, OJ 2,003 yards in 14 games 74-75, Bob McAdoo led the NBA in scoring with a 34.5 avg.
  12. It’s interesting that the technologies for all those things predicted in 1993 were already being developed and used. Does anyone remember the AT&T VideoPhone 2500? That came out in 1992. Companies were heavily investing in the infrastructure required to offer up the first generation of these products for mass consumption. And none of it took 30 years to get here.
  13. Gugny once again bringing the astute erudition to the discussion.
  14. I wish him luck because I can’t see a contending team agreeing to a deal like that for the reason you cited.
  15. I’d consider signing OBJ to a one year prove it deal and nothing more.
  16. Yeah, they were real craftsmen. It’s interesting to note that their routine was taken from a vaudeville routine in the early 1900s, which was based on the premise of two cities in a country named Which and What. But A&C refined it to the art piece it became. It literally never gets old and in my book, that’s the true test of comedy.
  17. Perhaps the greatest comedy routine ever created and performed.
  18. INdeed!
  19. “Low man wins” is an age old football reality. And the QB has nothing to do with that.
  20. We need to connect the smoke dots.
  21. All due respect for Hodgins, but he had one decent game and one pretty good game. And he was brought down to earth rather rudely the week after. Losing Hodgins did not and does not make one iota of a difference to the Bills’ prospects for success moving forward. As for Daboll, I am only happy as hell for him. His COTY award only reflects positively on McDermott as without McD, Daboll never would have gotten the opportunity so soon.
  22. The Jets have the better overall roster as they should given the abundance of premium draft picks. But as we’ve seen countless times over the years, superior rosters are often wasted when that roster isn’t superior at the most important position. Unless they get the QB position solved, that surrounding talent will wither more than win.
  23. The NFL salary cap is an illusion.
  24. By bust, I mean that he wasn’t gonna be a starter in the league, let alone measure up to his status as the 7th overall pick. That was strictly a fabricated narrative based on a shallow interpretation of college stats by talking head pundits. But it was NEVER the consensus among NFL scouts and other talent evaluators, who had the resources to conduct in depth evaluations of not only his physical attributes for the position but his aptitude for the job as well. They were also able to put his “accuracy numbers” in context as well, because pro scouts and other talent evaluators know that accuracy doesn’t just mean completion percentage, which is all the talking heads pointed to as proof that he wasn’t going to succeed. The only concern scouts had was his experience at the position, which was virtually none as compared to other college prospects who attend elite camps starting in middle school and specialize in the position throughout high school and college all the while getting dedicated coaching at the position and all it entails. Scouts knew Allen had none of that and that it would take a time investment to get him up to speed at the position. How much time it would take was the only question and it was just a matter of when not if he would be a star. The scouting community was quite unanimous in its evaluation, despite what less informed talking heads would have us believe.
  25. Don’t tell me you’re actually one of the dots!
