  1. Loved Andy Kaufman. I’ll never forget the first time I ever saw him which was on Johnny Carson. This was before Taxi and nobody knew who he was. He comes out in his Latka persona, says he will do some impressions, and immediately butchers them all; I mean they were the worst impressions every done by anyone ever. It was painful to watch and when he said he would now like to do Elvis Presley there was an audible groan from the audience. He then tore off his over clothes to reveal his Elvis attire and proceeded with perhaps the best Elvis impression in history. Nobody was better at manipulating an audience than Kaufman. A comic genius who really pushed the envelope. Especially in those times.
  2. Per the bold, I’d be interested in how you quantify that. Especially in the first game when we dominated them.
  3. Literally saved his life. Literally.
  4. You’re right. The induced coma is required when administering hypothermia therapy as well. And they usually wait 24-48 hours before warming the patient and bringing him back to consciousness. That’s when they can better determine any brain or other organ damage that may have been caused by the lack of oxygen.
  5. NFL SOP for years after a lengthy delay for weather or an injured player has been a to have a short warmup before resumption of play and it’s safe to assume that the NFL officials on hand last night informed Joe Buck of that. I can’t fault ESPN for simply relaying that information during the most fluid of situations. And an unprecedented situation at that.
  6. I think a lot of us feel the same way. I honestly don’t care if they play or not; the game has lost all importance to me and I think it is a perfectly understandable reaction after seeing an unprecedented event unfold on the field like it did. I feel for everyone involved. You just can’t process seeing your teammate being administered CPR on the field so quickly. I suspect the trauma will linger for a while as they work thru it. Hearing that Damar is ok and his prognosis is good would he a great first step in the process.
  7. Yeah, in his dreams maybe.
  8. I’ll mark it down because Hyde will have to be the first player in medical history to come back from ACDF* surgery three months earlier than the minimum timeline for recovery. I wish him luck trying to find any doctor to clear him, let alone his own. * While all media reports suggest a 6-9 month recovery period indicating he underwent ACDF surgery, if those reports are inaccurate and he had ADR surgery instead, then he is at the three month recovery time for that procedure at this time.
  9. We have won a ton of games with bad Josh since he came into the league. Because bad Josh just needs to give good Josh that one opportunity.
  10. Every media report after his surgery suggested a recovery time of 6-9 months which indicates he had the ACDF procedure. If those reports are inaccurate and he had the ADR instead, then we are at the required 3 month recovery mark, which might explain the hopeful rhetoric from Hyde recently.
  11. I said way up thread that I’d be more interested in target comparisons between the two receiver groups than just snap counts, so thanks for taking the time to find those numbers. Much more pertinent and illuminating.
  12. No, it’s never been done. It ain’t the injury, it’s the type of surgery required to fix it and since he had the ACDF as opposed to the ADR procedure, the minimum recovery time is six months for the spinal bone grafts to properly fuse.
  13. I’d be more interested in target comparisons. Snaps just tell me players were on the field when the ball was snapped.
  14. He’s wrong. He hasn't beaten us yet as we haven’t played the Bengals since before Burrow was even a gleam in their eyes. Sounds like he doesn’t include the Bills on his list of everyone worth beating. They certainly haven’t beaten anyone we haven't already beat either.
  15. It would require 11 one-game winning streaks. Think of it that way.
  16. He sustained the concussion 12 days ago so it’s not an inordinate short amount of time. That said, I hope it was indeed a minor concussion.
  17. Eichel had the artificial disc replacement (ADR) procedure which entails a much shorter recovery time of three months because there is no fusion of bone grafts involved.
  18. He definitely had the fusion surgery as a scar from the ACDF procedure is clearly visible on Micah’s throat. I noticed it in the video the Bills put out of him playing Operation with Tommy Doyle today. Of course a scar on his throat would also be visible if he had the artificial disc replacement surgery, which entails a three month recovery period but every article I’ve read indicates a 6-9 month recovery time indicating the fusion procedure.
  19. Several media reports at the time suggested he underwent ACDF surgery. He definitely had a herniated disc which is why they did the surgery so soon in the first place. Apparently, it had been a problem in the past as well. That said, the doctor who did the surgery never came right out and said it was the ACDF, but the 6-9 month recovery is a good indicator.
  20. No, because the game plan going in was to stop the run first and foremost. I just don’t buy the premise that we got run on all game because the game plan wasn’t to stop the run but focus on containing Hostetler instead. It was the 1990 Parcells coached Giants and the entire world knew the key was to stop run. Wouldn’t have made a bit of difference if was Rutledge handing off to OJ Anderson instead. That wasn’t gonna prevent Jeff Wright from getting blown off the LOS or prevent all the missed tackles on defense. They had the ball for 40 fricken minutes and Hostetler simply wasn't the key to that.
  21. Nope, not wishful thinking at all. Just an unprecedented recovery in record time in the entire history of athletes who have undergone the ACDF procedure. As I said, if it were the artificial disc replacement surgery instead, then I could buy it. But proper bone fusion of the spine takes time and there’s a reason why it’s a minimum 6 month recovery window.
  22. Do you honestly think our game plan defensively was to stop Hostetler? Like he was ever a serious passing threat in the league? Do you recall that Giants team from that year? They were a running team before Simms got hurt and even more committed to it once he got injured.
  23. The only way he comes back this season is if every report on the type of surgery he had is incorrect and he had the artificial disc replacement procedure instead. That recovery time is 3 months vs. the minimum six months. Otherwise, Micah Hyde would be a modern medical miracle with supernatural bone fusing powers.
  24. Was Rutledge gonna prevent our rushing defense from getting its ass handed to it all evening? I doubt it.
  25. That’s a fair point. But Tua sustained his first two concussions this season in the exact same fashion with his head violently slamming into the field. A spotter could have noticed the similarity and erred on the side of caution after seeing his head hit the ground.
