  1. You find it strange for Bills fans to talk negatively about our weakest starter? A starter that was terrible last season. A starter that has played poorly in pass protection again this year. As I’ve also pointed out, yes, he’s been solid as a run blocker. Spencer brown was so bad in pass protection last season, that he could’ve improved 100% and could still be graded as terrible in pass protection. He has this season to earn an opportunity to compete for the job again next season. And he’s lucky to have that based on his play last year. I don’t know about you, but I’m trying to win a Super Bowl here. I don’t want crappy players blocking for 17. I don’t want any crappy players starting for our team at any position. targeting….. LOL. Making observations and discussing them. Some players become a “target” when the observations point to a player sucking. Super Bowl window is open…. get gud or begone.
  2. He’s the target. this is a message board where we discuss the good and the bad. If brown wasn’t terrible last season, he wouldn’t be “targeting him”, aka observing how bad he was and discussing it. But he was terrible and that earned him the crosshairs. What you call a target, most would call the hot seat. He needs to shape up or ship out…..just like every other player that sucks. He’s playing a little better this year, but he hasn’t been good. And if he wasn’t helped as much as he’s been helped, I don’t think we’d be talking much about him being improved. The chips are taking all the pressure off
  3. Being a poor pass protecting and solid run blocking RT is better than being a dumpster fire. That doesn’t mean he should be our starting RT next season. If he improves his pass protection and is adequate in pass protection and doesn’t need constant help, then sure, bring him back. My statement about trading him revolves around him staying as he is now.
  4. I disagree, he isn’t “playing well” better than a dumpster fire, sure.
  5. I said “if he continues this level of play (which is poor imo) we should trade him”. I don’t think he’s that much improved in pass pro. We’re just giving him a lot more help, making him look much improved. so, you don’t understand why I’d want to trade a player that isn’t good? 🤷🏻‍♂️
  6. You’re safe with me. I probably won’t remember. I had forgotten that you didn’t like him this offseason.
  7. 🤷🏻‍♂️ I googled deonte Harty highlights and the 5th video down was 20 minutes
  8. The jets DL wrecked us and was one of the reasons we lost. Josh didn’t trust them and made bad decisions because of it. The raiders DL is awful minus one player….which is easy to avoid and chip. The pass protection vs Washington was very good, but we also had to keep our weapons in to help a good amount because the coaching staff knows they can’t trust Brown. The Washington DL is great but the rest of the D sucked, so we were able to get away with it. I hope we continue to give brown help in pass pro all season…..because he needs it more than most starting OTs….. but it’s terrible that we have to go to such measures as much as we do. I don’t think any team does it as much as us, but I could be wrong.
  9. No cap. If he continues this level of play all season, this should look to trade him.
  10. Yeah, Bernard isn’t out of the woods yet. This week will be a great test for him in the run game. Idk how anyone doesn’t see “quick” in his game. After just watching 20 mins of his highlights, he seems to be lacking the extra gear I was expecting 98% of the time. He had it on a couple plays- mostly on returns and then one play vs the cowboys iirc. I do see quick on the majority of his highlights though. I hope we’re wrong about Bernard holding up. I just hope that Dorian steps in if he goes down. Please no Dodson My crow is regarding Harty as a WR. When we signed him, I figured it would be Hines on returns. I thought we’d be able to get him loose. 🤦🏻‍♂️
  11. I just wanna see this guy run some slants and option routes. With his separation, length and hands…..Allen just needs to hit a spot and the defender likely won’t be able to distrust the pass. Regarding your last paragraph….. this has been the topic of discussion for over a year now. Teams are cover 2 shelling us to death because they know Josh wants to be more explosive. In order to pull them out of the shell, we have to pound them underneath like KC did last season. We have the roster to make that happen. We just need the scheme and concepts.
  12. It’s not a sore subject. I’m eating crow on it right now. I’m extremely happy. I have no problem owning my misses and I’m transition from “being right” on a guy to “hellllll yeah let’s goooooooo” on a guy.
  13. Sending him deep. That’s my hope too, I believe I alluded to it in my OP. Setting it up. I feel that way about a few things, but I’m afraid I’m probably giving them too much credit. To my eye, he just doesn’t look the same as he did in NO.
  14. Yeah….we thought he had the touch with DBs, but maybe mcdermotts been the LB whisperer all along. 5th rounder Milano is an all pro. Bernard looking like 2.0 too bad edmunds didn’t have the it factor to become great
  15. If he’s injury insurance then he shouldn’t play at all right now. He’s a midget with lots of injury history. If he keeps playing, odds are he’s the first WR injured. I think shakir and Sherfield look like better rac options at this point. Anyone else think he was really fast in NO? I thought he was electric. Now….. he’s just looks small. And iirc, that LB covering him on that play was Cody Barton. Their worst start on D imo. Can’t recall if Josh was pressured and had to throw it early or not. Seems like an early throw considering the route
  16. I hereby admit defeat in 2 proclamations I made this offseason. 1- Deonte Harty. Dunno if it’s the superdome turf or the way the saints used him but it looks like he’s lost of juice. He doesn’t look nearly as explosive as he in NO. I’d hate to see him continue to get looks when he can’t get separation and can’t make anyone miss. Can Dorsey scheme this guy some space? Maybe he plans of having him run some streaks to catch the D off guard? If not, he should be on the bench. He doesn’t look to have “it”. It’s only 3 games…..but I don’t see how he’s going to all of a sudden be faster. If he’s not faster than what we’re seeing, he’s a bust. 2- Terrel Bernard- I would’ve been happy if we traded him for a 6th rd pick a month ago. I thought he was too small and weak for the part. His college injury history (in addition to his size) was also a big flag. Suppose that will always be a worry. I wanted to roll with Dorian Williams and let him play through his mistakes at the expense of our defense because i didn’t think Bernard had his upside. Through 3 games……. I feel like we have our Mike. He flies to the ball. He’s decisive. He seems to be a solid wrap up tackler. He understands zone coverage very well and communicates it to his teammates. I don’t have a lot of confidence in him replicating Sundays performance vs Miami, but I am confidant and happy that I was wrong about him. Are you ready to chow down on some crow?
  17. Play calls have a big part to do with a player being a different maker….. don’t you think?
  18. No. End thread
  19. Life on TBD!! Just watch the tape people. He hasn’t been good in pass protection and keeping TEs in to help him as much as we do has definitely limited us. He’s been solid as a run blocker
  20. Send 5 on every down while having 2 guys in Tyreek? 😱 I like the elam idea, but doing the same thing on every play will get us torched. It’s all about confusion imo. If they know what we’re doing, it’ll be easy to counter. Like rushing 5 every down, they’ll screen us to death. Quick hitters all day. Tyreek isn’t their only weapon.
  21. 👍🏻 agreed. Good point on getting Josh comfortable in the pocket again. He looked she’ll shocked in preseason and Vs the jets. No trust in pass pro Waiting on Spencer brown to prove reliable has been a theme for 3 seasons. He’s looked better this season, but he’s still been below average to poor imo. He’s just not the worst RT in the league anymore, like he’s been in recent years. If I had to wager, he’ll never be reliable enough to trust in pass protection on a regular basis. He’s going to require help all season. Solid run blocker though.
  22. Speed, no. Quickness, on a sideline chip and leak vs the raiders and also on a pass over the middle where he juked 2 guys. mostly just comebacks, digs and curls from my recollection. Prior to last week he was 6 amongst all pass catchers in separation per route @ 4.2 yards per route run iirc.
  23. I’m happy with our pass protection too, but we’re also using our TEs and RBs to help our tackles more than most teams do imo. That limits our passing concepts. Spencer Brown is still a problem I thought Kincaid would be used as a slot WR. Instead, he’s a designated chip and leak target. I think we have the pass catcher you’re looking for (albeit not “established”)…..but we don’t know how to use him. Or maybe we know how, but aren’t showing all of our cards. 🤷🏻‍♂️ this whole thing is confusing concerning his usage
  24. 👍🏻 I dunno if he’s 4.45-4.5, he might be. I do know he’s pretty fast for a TE, has amazing movement skills and RAC. Josh ran a 4.76 but he’s certainly faster than that with the ball in his hand. That’s the problem with the 40. Your 40 can be improved dramatically based on technique. A technique that will never be used on a football field with pads on. If every athlete were to have the same level of technique and coaching, the 40 would carry more weight in my eyes. But that’s impossible and sometimes we have to trust our eyeballs when evaluating speed on the field.
  25. We need to tackle well for sure. That’s will be key for us. Mostert buried us last season. Milano HAS to be better tackling. Between Mostert and Achane, the speed is deadly. One missed tackle and it could be daylight with our slow safeties. Along with tackling, I think the key to victory will be to take away Tua’s first read. As you said, they’re going to get rid of the ball in 1-2 secs. We need to prevent that. We obv won’t be able to do that all game, but we need to do it situationally. It’s our best opportunity to force them in TOs, sacks and punts. You need glasses imo. Rac has always been one of his strong point. He’s not a 4.65- 4.70. He can move with the best TEs in the league
