9/29/2024 Bills at Ravens 2nd half game thread
TheBrownBear replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
Got our @zz kicked tonight. Not the end of the world and plenty of teaching opportunities for our young LBs and safeties. Josh and Brady have to learn to trust the system and stick to the game plan. We might be in it right now if not for that stupid play call. This should get every single player's attention this week. I expect us to bounce back next week. -
Matt Harmon: "Khalil Shakir is the perfect WR for the modern NFL"
TheBrownBear replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall
Love Shakir. If I were in the market for a jersey, that's the one I'd grab. He's going to have a long and successful career here. He's our Hines Ward. -
I've always liked the tune, but isn't it about a *******? And no offense to some of our posters here, but isn't it a little embarrassing to be celebrating to this song on the football field? Edit: you seriously cannot type out "c(l)uckold" on this board?

Voltz bringing the receipts. Kudos on this call, brother.

Shohei's a GOAT, but my Pads are coming for your Dodgers tonight.

Based on weeks 1-3, Brady seems to have developed a perfect offense for our QB and current cast of skill players. So I'm feeling pretty good overall, but want to see how we look against some stiffer competition the next few weeks before drawing any firm conclusions. There are many twists and turns over the course of 18 weeks.

Josh Allen vs Patrick Mahomes: The changing of the guard?
TheBrownBear replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
Eyeball test says yes, but Mahomes always manages to pull a rabbit out of the hat in a way that I've never seen from another player in my lifetime (started watching in 85). I'm still viewing Mahomes and Josh as equals until we knock them off in the playoffs. -
Is this the best coaching we have seen in the JA era?
TheBrownBear replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm obviously loving what we've seen against these bottom feeding Florida teams. Real test begins this week. -
Does anybody else prefer to watch Bills games alone?
TheBrownBear replied to ChronicAndKnuckles's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yes. Obviously love being at the actual games with fans, but when watching on TV I prefer to be alone. The only exception is when I'm visiting my folks and watching with Mom and Dad. We are all on the same doomer wavelength, so it's fun to commiserate with them. 🤣 -
Random talking head says something about the Bills
TheBrownBear replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
Maybe you posted the wrong clip, but they appeared to be effusive in their praise of Josh and critical of Tua. The whole point of the segment was to highlight that Tua has never shown that he's worthy of being in the discussion of top quarterbacks like Josh, and also that Josh owns him head to head. -
Cincinnati settled for four field goals (2 inside redzone) and their QB gave up a fumble scoop and score. That's potentially 23 points lost right there. But, at the end of the day, as others have said, you've got a HOF QB, head coach and kicker.

I thought the same thing. Running into a relatively skinny guy who is barely moving shouldn't have caused what we saw last night.
-
Hard to believe that finding out that you're losing your best defensive player for a month is good news, but in this case it definitely is.
-
Of course, but how hard is it to find some kickers to bring into camp to compete with Bass?
-
As opposed to Daboll, who looked like the kind of guy to eat the entire tray of deviled eggs at a party before anyone else got to taste them.
-
I have lost all confidence in the guy and I'm terrified of where this is trending. This guy could seriously lose us a(nother) playoff game or, God forbid, choke away a Super Bowl. I really wish Beane had looked to upgrade the position in the offseason.
-
As others have said, good depth is a great "problem" to have. More guys will inevitably get nicked up and miss games as others come back. Now we know we have a stable of quality defensive backs to carry us through the season. I love it.

Correct. The second half was a glorified preseason game after Ingram's pick six. Run the ball and avoid injury. Josh played great in the first half when it counted. Consistently made the right decisions, even slid and threw a ball or two away that he'd often force. Guy was completely controlling things for the limited time he saw the ball over the first 30 minutes.
