  1. It's a bummer, since Bass looked like he was going to be our Justin Tucker or Butker for the next decade. Still, despite the crappy season, his career FG% is the same as the guy who beat us yesterday. Not ready to run him off just yet, but if the downward trend continues the rest of the season?
  2. I would have called you insane a year ago, but this is now becoming clear to me. He is Jauron with clapping. I'd argue that Jauron actually got more from his teams though, especially his defense.
  3. He played so damn soft in OT. You could almost sense he would have been satisfied with a tie.
  4. He doesn't think well on his feet in pressure situations. That's why he uses the timeouts. I don't think it's a philosophy or strategy or anything. He just doesn't trust himself and his players to make the right call or play under pressure. We all know people like this (or we may even be that guy). That's why you see these asinine late game timeouts that seemingly help the opposition more than us, and see a future HOF quarterback with 350 yards and 4 TDs already under his belt kneeling out the clock with 20 seconds and 1 time out in a MUST WIN GAME. This panicked loser mentality undoubtedly rubs off on the players. Can you imagine Allen and these guys under a truly confident, decisive and ballsy leader?
  5. I'll be honest, given Sean's track record, I was shocked that we held them to a 59 yard field goal try at the end of regulation. All things considered, I considered that a "win" at the time for our defense.
  6. Yeah, that's my thought. He's had a couple of uncharacteristic drops, but it seems he's made more explosive "something from nothing" type of yac plays this year than in the past. Overall, I think he's been really good. He came up with that great TD yesterday to put us up 24-14 as well.
  7. It's one thing to have Mahomes, Hurts or Burrow do that to you. It's a special level of ineptitude to watch the defense be so completely helpless against the likes of washed-up Russ, Mac Jones, Zach Wilson, Tyrod Taylor and Baker Mayfield in those critical moments.
  8. And this post from Florio seems to back up what you're saying. https://x.com/MichaelFFlorio/status/1724852313695900103?s=202 However, it does seem that when Josh is bad, he's "bad" (Jets). But hopefully that was somewhat a result of Dorsey running the show.
  9. I think it's recency bias. Josh has played two good games in a row and much of the fanbase wants (maybe needs) to believe that the guy we saw in the Jets, Pats, Giants, Broncos, etc. games was some sort of alien body snatcher inhabiting Josh's mind and body. Most of us came down hard on Josh during and immediately following those contests.
  10. I hear you generally, but as bad as the timing of yesterday's turnover was, Allen willed the team up and down the field all day long and got them the lead inside of two minutes and again in overtime. This one almost entirely lies at the feet of McDermott. Edit: reading comp fail on my part. Didn't realize you were talking week 1. That was like the flip side of this game, with Allen almost singlehandedly dragging us to that embarrassing loss - McD's 4th quarter defense and special teams were just the icing on the cake. But yes, 6-6 with this roster and level of experience takes a certain level of "complementary sucking" that Sean and Josh have seemed to perfect in 2023.
  11. Amen. Seems strange to say, especially since I'm old enough to have lived through all of the most horrendous losses in team history, but today's game feels like a breaking point for me. 13 seconds felt like two heavyweights where someone had to come out on the losing end. Today was a must win game in which we largely dominated and somehow still managed to lose. It just magnifies how much potential has been wasted this season and for much of our HOF quarterback's career. On the whole it's all become too much accumulated trauma, and I don't know if I'm capable of hanging in as a fan for another round of this garbage. And I say that as a fan who has always preached perspective. But it's just no fun anymore.
  12. I figured today had to be some type of statistical anomaly. We have become one of those supremely talented undisciplined wastes. Like the Mike Martz Rams or that Philly super team that missed the playoffs.
  13. Technically, that's correct, but being real, do you really believe this team can make the playoffs? At this point, Sean's defense folding like a cheap suit in the fourth quarter has become the norm. And it's not just against the Mahomes and Hurts of the world. We pissed away leads against Mac Jones, Zach Wilson, washed up Wilson, and honestly should have lost to Tyrod Taylor if not for a gift from the refs. (Nearly pissed away the Bucs game too). Keep Sean McDermott and you're gonna get more of the same. This is who he is.
  14. I now believe that Josh Allen made Sean McDermott. McDermott is skilled at building/scheming a defense that can feast on The Sisters of the Poor of the NFL, but that's about it. His defense sucks in big games or against pretty much any top-15 quarterback. He needs to go.
  15. I will say it seems we may have found something with Brady. 505 yards today. Put up season high yardages against two good defenses in a row.
  16. It's time for Sharty McDermottheimer to hit the road.
  17. I agree, but McDermott will kick and we will lose. Guaranteed.
  18. Sad to say, but I have zero confidence in us to finish this off.
  19. I saw a block in the back there. No call of course.
