This is really closer to the truth, I think, for a good many beat reporters. Some put in the work to learn their craft — I put WGR’s Sal, Joe B., and a few others in that category — but many of them truly have no better credentials or experience to “report” on training camp than any of us. That’s why it is typically a bad idea to take these camp reports as gospel unless everyone is saying the same thing.

So excited to see how they get Davis involved. This offense has a variety of options and weapons we have not seen in a very long time. Not going to overreact to a down Josh Allen day. It sounds like he still made some plays, and based upon Frazier’s recent comments I’d bet the defense was turning it up a notch as well.

Yeah, I mean I’ve found Thad’s tweets this year to be more even-handed than I felt they were in the past. He did say Josh was “fantastic” during the scrimmage. We don’t like for anybody to have a bad or “off” day but it happens.

In 2019 the Bills had six “tests” — NE*** twice, Baltimore, Dallas, Pittsburgh, and Houston. They won two and lost four, with a still incomplete roster. More importantly (to me), every game was within their grasp. Fear over not being tested should not be a concern; this team knows they belong.

Recall, a few months ago I called to complain about not receiving the “ST Max Free” email and the rep gave me $100 off for three months to offset the cost. This is where the stuff we don't see really comes into play. Recall, it was Webb who supposedly "ran" the practices in Florida this summer and was mentioned as being future coaching material. I could see McD wanting to keep a guy like that in the mix. But that said, it's still a bit of a longshot.

Of course, I get it — my point is simply that there isn’t one glaring area you look at as a weakness.

I expect cuts to be made this week. You’re not required to keep everyone until the 5th at 4 pm, that’s just the deadline.

If this year’s D shows they are better against the run (which I expect) it’s an incredibly tough ask for opposing offenses. As for Buffalo’s O, I use last year as the floor with the addition of Diggs, Moss, a healthy Kroft, and an additional year of growth/experience for Josh. The running game should be better (Moss > Gore), the passing game should be better...yes, I know teams will have a plan but I like our chances.

I think cutdown day is the afternoon of the 5th...next Saturday.

So far, McD has done a good job of not allowing that to happen. I don’t think the Bills will lose a couple they “should have” won, I just think there will be a couple of hard fought games against good teams that may not go our way. Tell me — as an opposing coach, what exactly do you look at when you have to play the Bills and think “oh good, we can really take advantage of that?” The Bills are a beast for any team to handle. You think other teams are just counting on a couple of errant Josh Allen throws? Last year the Bills proved to themselves they belong in the conversation. This year they take the next step.

BBFS is difficult to overcome, but we can do it.

I think Yeldon and Bates should be blue, and I also think Bass and Bojo have locked it down.

Time to put my money where my mouth is. No excuses, this is the most complete Bills roster since the late 90s and they will prove it on the field. No glaring holes at any position, and quality depth throughout. Backup QB is a question mark, so the health of Josh Allen is key. Provided he stays healthy, I see the Bills going 6-0 in the East, and of the remaining ten games there is only one — @SF — in which I think they will go in as an underdog. The W5 matchup with KC is likely a pick’em, because I expect Buffalo to be 4-0 going into that one. They’ll be favored in every other home game and the road games are not particularly daunting outside of Tennessee. Arizona is a media darling but they are unproven and have a suspect defense. Vegas is still, in my opinion, a mess. Denver may be a bit better but I’m not sold on Fangio or Lock. I’ll give them losses to KC, San Fran, and a couple we don’t expect — maybe Tennessee, Pittsburgh, or the roadie at NE***. AFC East champs and the #2 seed in the playoffs. There ya have it.

Yeah, I’ll go one step further; he was a liability for the run defense. Addition by subtraction.

Always happy to see a good AFC player leave for an NFC team (that we don’t play). Cousins is the limiting factor on that team.

I opened this thread expecting to read a post from @The Senator about a Mike Leach offense.

I’ll take Fitz over Tyrod every day. He writes checks his arm can’t cash but that guy is a gamer and never gives up.
