  1. Bills defeated the Fish easily. Next up are the Steelers, who snuck by the Ravens. Not sure when voting begins.
  2. Agree. Exactly what has Sweeney put on tape that will persuade another team to poach him?
  3. Hopefully his agent isn't using that when he talks to teams...
  4. I think bringing royalty into this locker room would really upset the culture.
  5. I was thinking a good time to do the upgrade would be around midnight on 9/12. Shouldn't be much traffic late on a Saturday night.
  6. Ok, this thread aged well. McD apparently just said Gilliam "has a long way to go" and he's now listed as a TE.
  7. I think you're reading A LOT into camp reports if you took this away from them. I believe it's pretty clear the focus of this camp has been to develop chemistry with all of the new WRs. Knox has received good reports on his blocking, and I've only heard mention of one drop (that I recall). That said, this Kroft guy is snakebitten. Geez. I think he can claim the "boo boo foot" title away from Sammy Watkins.
  8. In the XFL, perhaps. We have a winner.
  9. The Buffalo News report from yesterday said the Bills worked on situational football as opposed to "drives" and Josh was 7/14 with one drop, two WR slips, and a throwaway on a rush. That means "functional" accuracy was 7/10. Maybe the passes weren't great or maybe some of the reporters don't know what they're looking at. Whatever. In other news, GMFB was reporting how awful the Bucs practice was yesterday, with Brady throwing picks and miscommunication all over the place. 9/13 can't get here quickly enough.
  10. If we weren't going into year 3 with Daboll, year 3 with Josh, and hadn't added, over the last two years, such a slew of weapons, I might understand where you are coming from. My primary disagreement is in your assessment that just because they have played a lot of close, low scoring games "it is who they are" and " in their DNA." McD hasn't had an offense capable of carrying the load and has rightfully leaned on his defense, but the pieces appear to be in place now. I don't believe, if you asked McD, he would tell you he's comfortable getting a 10-pt lead and then taking his foot off the gas. But since we truthfully don't know how McD will coach with an above-average offense it's all speculation at this point.
  11. Saint Doug saying cutting Fournette gives the Jags a better chance to win is hilarious as the team continues to gut their defense and embark on an unapologetic tank job.
  12. John Brown made two mistakes in that game. I'm not disputing that. Brown has proven himself in this league, however, and his stats last season bear that out. Duke only caught 4/10 targets against the Texans. The potential TD catch would not have been "spectacular" -- the ball was in his hands and the DB broke it up. Duke was out there to be the "contested catch" guy and in his biggest moment he didn't do the job. He's not elite in anything, and if he isn't going to do the one thing he is supposed to excel at why keep him around when there are now other options such as Gabriel Davis and Isaiah Hodgins?
  13. Ugh, I don't know why I respond to your posts, but here goes. Schedule toughness is a red herring. The Bills will be favored in nearly every game they play this season. They have more continuity than just about every other team in the league -- more important this year than ever before. Allen has a year more of growth and experience. Stefon Diggs. Zack Moss instead of Frank Gore. Upgrades on the DL -- Addison and Jefferson for Lawson and Phillips. For you to say you "can't see" any more than 9 wins just reeks of a defeatist attitude.
  14. Is he though? I mean, good placekickers have to get their start somewhere, and it's not like he wasn't productive in college. Is there something about him that makes you think he is a bust risk other than simply being a rookie? He seems level-headed and is clearly talented. I don't know what makes some kickers "blow up" -- it is most likely a mental toughness issue because they all know how to kick. I'm excited the Bills took this chance on a guy who might be really good for a long time rather than taking a relatively "safe" route with Hauschka.
  15. I was thinking short, regional spat of indigestion.
  16. That guy is always stealing my stuff.
  17. I think both of these guys can easily break away for TDs in the 30-40 yard range. They’re just not going to hit the 75-yard home runs. They are remarkably similar in style, I think, but Moss brings that extra bit of nastiness in that he likes to hit people. I can easily envision a scenario pretty early this season in which there is absolutely no drop off when one replaces the other. If I’m Daboll I don’t want to be too predictable that when Moss comes in it’s a short yardage play, for example.
  18. And I’m going the IR route rather than straight cut because of just that — the ability to have DiMarco’s presence/leadership still in the room.
  19. ...anybody else think that perhaps DiMarco is headed to IR and Gilliam will make the 53? Apparently DiMarco hasn’t practiced all camp and Gilliam has looked good, both on ST and in limited offensive reps. Are guys on IR allowed to attend meetings? And I’m referring to team meetings, not those of the high level business variety.
  20. Well, I’m already on record here with my 12-win (at least) prediction, although I didn’t specify the losses in detail. I’m actually leaning towards 13-3 but didn’t want to be greedy. Losses to KC, SF, and one AFCE game (either Fish or Pats***).
  21. Who knows how this will all turn out, but I take it as a good sign that the day after Bass won the job he was perfect at camp.
  22. Based upon what Duke did when he “got his chance” in the playoffs last season, he’s lucky he is still on the training camp roster. How would you justify keeping Duke over Hodgins — a man who dropped a total of THREE passes over his entire college career and plays the “big man” role?
  23. An ass whooping...that’s what’s coming.
  24. Funny thread. Singletary proved last season that he can be a top level producer in both the running and passing game. Moss hasn’t played a down of NFL football. Yes, I know there are fumble issues but until that recurs I agree with a 70/30 split projection.
